it's finally here

After tons of people beginning me to tell them how I shall release a tut for kUzu's famous pen. ^^ There's only one grip that is not known, but it can be subbed easily and doesn't make a difference.

Name of Pen Modification: kUzu's G3 Mod
    Center of Gravity: center
Length in Centimeters: approx. 20 cm
Weight in relative terms: similar to Dr. KT
    Style: Single-sided non-retractable
    Estimated cost: $25
    Parts Needed:
    -Plastic tipped Pilot G3 body [1], A
-Zebra Hyper Jell Cap [1], B
-a grip similar to the Hyper Jell's (I used Jimnie grip) [1 cm], C
-Uniball Signo dimpled grip version grip [1], D
-Zebra Hyper Jell grip [1], E
-Uniball Signo Knock grip (w/ cut design if wanted) [1], F
    -Plastic tipped Pilot G3 tip [1], G
-Uniball Signo dimpled grip version tip [2], H
    -Pilot Hi-tec C tip [2], I
-Pentel Hybrid Gel Grip tip [1] (not included in picture)
-Anyball/Profile grip [approx 3 sections] (not included in picture)

    Spoiler:
    1. Strip the G3 so you only have the barrel.

    2. File down the 8 cube-shaped nubs on the G3, as well as the raised area next to where the tip would be attached.

    3. Cut approx. 1cm of the Hyper Jell grip and slide it onto the G3's grip area.

    4. Cut approx. 1cm of the unkown grip (I recommend using Jimnie or Hyper Jell) and slide it next to the Hyper Jell grip.

    5. Attach a Hi Tec C tip to the G3 plastic tip, then attach a Signo tip to the Hi Tec C tip. Screw the G3 tip onto the G3's threads. You should have three pen tips on the front of the Pilot G3.

    6. Slide the Signo grip over the three tips.

    7. Cut a design into your Signo Knock grip, then put it on top of all the other grips at the front of the G3.

    8. Put a few sections of Anyball/Profile in front of the cut grip. The front of the pen is completed!!! Good job.

    9. Take the clip off of the Hyper Jell cap.

    10. Put the other Signo tip into the Hyper Jell cap like you would while making an Ayatori Mod.

    11. Put the other Hi Tec C tip and the HGG tip into the rest of the Hyper Jell grip. Put the grip into the Hyper Jell cap (HGG tip first).

    12. Wrap some black tape around the back of the G3, stick an insert in and you're finished!

    Completed pen:

I completely revamped the tutorial with pics now. biggrin.gif Thanks to TEK for both of the cut grips.

    7. Cut a design into your Signo Broad RT grip, then put it on top of all the other grips at the front of the G3.
just wanna make sure that it is the knock signo (same as ayatori)...idk why you said signo broad lol.

    11. Put the other Hi Tec C tip and the HGG tip into the rest of the Hyper Jell grip. Put the grip into the Hyper Jell cap (HGG tip first).

if you are confused about the "hgg in first" part, he means...
the grip is supposed go over the hi tec tip and the hgg tip in the cap...so it is easier if you just put the hgg tip and the hi tec tip inside of the hyper gel grip before you put it all in the cap.
    so it would be signo

I dont get whats up with this JEB mod craze. I mean, these were just regular pen mods that people altered to fit their own needs by adding a few tips and grips here and there. Are you guys really gonna use all these pens to make someone else's personal mod? Get some creativity guys and design your own cool looking mods.

See, the thing with these self mods is that the maker just used spare parts and made their own pen...the only reason it gets considered a "mod" is that they are famous spinners...they really are just something the make did with left over stuff they had.

It's not really subbable, it's pretty unique. The closest thing I can think of would be a Metal G3 tip.

The Hi Tec C is already a very tight fit in the cap, so I'm not sure if a G3 tip would work.

plus its right at a transition from thick to thin... its gonna be a major breaking point.

Signo DX to be exact. theres a few subs around, pretty much the same look to it though.

    also, just so you know
( you might want to put this in the tut nate)

    the Hi tec/ g-tec is 1g-1.1g
a hgg tip is .6g, and an hgr is 1.2g
so hgr are almost the same wait as a hi tec.

just so everyone stops asking for subs.

ayatori mod is cheaper cuz it uses less tips. kUzu mod is heavier, and the hi tec pens are super expensive. But spinning wise, kUzu is really good, because the G3 body feels really nice and it's heavier than the ayatori. Comparing the two, the lakubo barrel feels really thin, and the G3 is nice and thick. So yeah, IMO, kUzu > ayatori, but they're both nice mods

hmm.. is a plastic tipped kuzu actually balanced? i made a metal tipped one and it is.

Probably is. Maybe the way you modded it made it balanced. you probably have to make some adjustments somewhere.

They might not be sold in HK, they're usually found in Japan. That's why all these G3 mods are from Japanese spinners.

    7. Cut a design into your Signo Broad RT grip, then put it on top of all the other grips at the front of the G3.
just wanna make sure that it is the knock signo (same as ayatori)...idk why you said signo broad lol.

i used signo broad and it just has a different name and color...pretty nice on my ayatori mod...

You can replace hi Tec c with G1 or HGR tip, or better, you use instead of the hi tech c tip 2 hgg tips, so you have in the cap 3 hgg tips and 1 signo tip.

btw, I have all parts here, and same grip colors as original, I will make one now:D

Get a chop stick or a long thin stick and poke it out. The insert is also posted in the Show Off Your Inserts Thread.

Are you sure about the Hgg tip in the back?
This mod is noticably backheavy with it... I took it out and I like it much better.. It's balanced and It feels like it has more momentum...
Seems pretty pointless to spend that much on a mod and have it be backheavy dry.gif

I dont get whats up with this JEB mod craze. I mean, these were just regular pen mods that people altered to fit their own needs by adding a few tips and grips here and there. Are you guys really gonna use all these pens to make someone else's personal mod? Get some creativity guys and design your own cool looking mods.

    yeah agreed!

yes it is but you can add an hgg tip to the front or just take out an hgg tip from the back. this will balance it happy.gif

instead of using plastic g3 tip can I just use a metal g3 tip and not take out the hgg?
