lol Scott I know...it sucks when that happens
Anyway this is pretty tough. Eh I like both of them.
Both has unnecessary pauses that killed the combo, so my vote goes to Scott for the trick choices. Gotta love levitator reverse, palm spins, fake reverse flicks, and the ta harmonics. -
Date: Sun, Aug 24 2008 22:42:11
Both had nice tricks but some pauses that were annoying
nice battle guys -

+1 Eriror.
Both were great and smooth but there were parts in Scotts combo that just made the combo look not as smooth as Erirors. And that's what it came down to for me. -
Date: Sun, Aug 24 2008 23:12:12
Both of you are great spinners.
I know you both could have done better. -
Date: Sun, Aug 24 2008 23:21:50
beginning was filled with too many flta revs scott but you did use some intereseting tricks there. I would have liked it more if you spread those tricks throughout the combo as the rest of it was a little boring. There were a few things here and there but not executed well. It kinda just kept going.
Eriror didnt seem to go all out either but taking into account all the criteria, his was better -

Man....you guys are waaaaay too good....
i need to catch up
nulled.... -
Date: Mon, Aug 25 2008 00:04:54
can someone elaborate on the not smooth parts in my video?
or the bad execution? -
Date: Mon, Aug 25 2008 00:58:22
Both vids had pauses. Eri's at the midbak 1.5 transition and scott at the 33 catch, which was probably intentional but didn't look too nice. And there looked like there was a pause when scott's head covered his hands also -- can't tell much. Some 14 trick i think.
Combos felt okay in general. Scott's felt kinda spammy. And scott's head blocking the cam was really annoying. I couldn't see a lot of the combo which ruined it for me. I guess if I tried harder I could see what was happening, that really kills it. :P
+1 Eri. -

Had to null...
to me videos hosted on upsb seem to have little jerks in them making it seem more choppy so I always download them -
Date: Mon, Aug 25 2008 01:53:30
your FL TA right before the flick push TA rev looked like a finisher although it wasnt. It would have been better peformed as a more seemless transition. Also there was a shadow12-t1 that had an awkward pause after that.

you seem to double-clutch at :05-6, the part around :19-:22 seems a bit shaky
@NADA, wait till the video is fully loaded or download it. -

fake endings.
i guess people just don't get it these days
5-6 was on purpose
19-22 only thing that seemed weird was inv rev bak hand tracer 23-12 -
Date: Mon, Aug 25 2008 02:25:21
Oh man this is really a toughie. Both of your combos are excellent, and both do have their minor pauses.
+1 For Scott
Eriror your combo was fantastic, it's just that to me it looked a lot like another combo of yours that I've seen recently. Maybe it's just that the arounds and shadows stick out to me so I think it looks really similar. eh, idk.
Both very good though. -

Yea I've been thinking about this but I think that the only reason that they all look alike is because of his fast and smooth style. The tricks are all performed so quickly and smooth that the style is the thing that's recognizable in every combo. -

Zombo, the video is loading fast enough, it's just I see a few spots where the video jerks.

Fake ending is one thing but having two fake endings is a little tacky and your real finisher uses the exact same catch. I think you couldve mixed it up a bit. -

... I love Eriror shadow... so +1 Eriror... I'm sorry Scott
Both of you are really great -
Date: Mon, Aug 25 2008 03:28:09
uhhhhhh......+1 to eriror. no reasons given. although i do have reasons.
-
Date: Mon, Aug 25 2008 03:43:27QUOTE (Scott Shaputis @ Aug 24 2008, 10:18 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>5-6 was on purpose
im not talking about the pause
im talking about the hesitation to move forward, the slight repositioning, that's the double-clutch. A single fluid motion would have been better after the break. it's brief but it's interruptive, your hand tilts a little bit, i think it looks better without that hesitation
as for eriror, the opening flourish is impressive and smooth, the second part ends with a cont. shadow still which I'm a bit skeptical about because I don't think a shadow still is the most judicious choice for continuity (at least not in a simple continous pattern), finally the ending has the obvious error and i dont think the final bust was that great. -

+1 Scott
Eriror, your combos ALL LOOK THE SAME.
gawsh. But i'm sure you know it so I won't flame you or anything. -
Date: Mon, Aug 25 2008 04:21:01
Scott obviously had the better combo.
I know my combo was the same as before, my hand still hurts and I wasn't in the mood to bring up something new that would be mind-blowing. It's sad that I'm ahead with votes, though.
Scott, sorry to disappoint you, I guess we will still need a match where I actually go all out... -
Date: Mon, Aug 25 2008 09:25:50
Actually, I Very much Idolize Eriror, but this battle wasn't his best. I give this one to scott, Nice one!
-
Date: Mon, Aug 25 2008 09:39:05
wow eriror owned
-
Date: Wed, Aug 27 2008 18:42:24
Eriror was better. It doesnt matter that it looks similar to other combos (even though I loved the reverse shadow still). Scott's was too spammy and was (honestly) kinda painful to watch. Eriror is so smooth, I love to watch his combos.

+1 eriror
although i dont get why everyone's so awestruck by the shadow revs.... -
Date: Wed, Aug 27 2008 23:22:07
is it just me or is it that every battle of Eriror vs Scott they both have a break of sorts and the video couldve been better ?
and +1 Eriror full criteria wise i thought his was better. Scotts real and fake ending was kind of meh like pholord said -

Um, no one's awestuck by any shadow revs. Well, maybe one or so. But that's far far from everyone.
Plus, eriror does have the nicest shadow (revs) stills I've ever seen. Actually, no one really uses them much. -
Date: Thu, Aug 28 2008 04:49:39
Awe? I thought they were bored of the Shadow Reverses.
-
Date: Thu, Aug 28 2008 04:55:54
i wonder how this battle woulda went if eriror wasnt famous in the psing community lol. maybe the same.

nulled. Scott had a good combo as well as Eriror so...
-
Date: Sat, Aug 30 2008 04:40:54
I really like Scott's willingness to try something different and unconventional, but both combos were pretty good. nulled

this battle has been over a long time ago, i jsut dont know why scott made the thread himself instead of letting the system do it, so im gonna close this
