Serious Discussion / Lucid Dreaming and Dream Interpretation

Yeah, so after that lucid dream thread I guess I'm gonna try to master dreaming.

The main skill you must have before lucid dreaming is the ability to remember dreams easily and by writing down every dream I remember, I will win at dreams. So wish me luck! Tomorrow will be my 1st test of dream recall.

    Clarification:
Use this thread to ask any questions related to dreaming, such as tips for lucid dreaming, how to remember/record dreams, and so on. You can also post dreams which you require help interpreting or understanding. If you merely want to post your dream experiences as a diary, I invite you to use the blog feature instead.

    Thanks,
    Tialys

Wow, holy shit this is harder than it looks. I only remembered 1 dream last night and here it is.

I found myself back in the gym of my high school with all of my classmates back. For some odd reason we were playing a game of basketball and the lights were dimmed. We took a short break after about 10 minutes of play and I got to talk to one of my old best friends who I still frequently talk to in real life with another girl that I couldn't identify joking around with him as though she was his girlfriend. The break ended with my old gym teacher telling us to circle around a rectangle net on the floor of the gym, probably 4 feet by 6 feet. Then I woke up.

Fuck that was weird to type up.

good luck, i tried learning how to lucid dream but my sleep pattern is shit so i very rarely even remember having any dreams at all =\ I remember reading some tutorial that said to wake up at various intervals during the night so that you could remember more dreams instead of sleeping for 7-8 hours straight and then trying to recall everything.

Your dream journal huh? I'm planning to make one myself but just write it down on paper instead of the internet.
I'm also pretty interested in Lucid Dreaming now..

By the way your dream seemed like any normal day to me, lols.

Good luck on getting to your first Lucid Dream!

Ok somehow I remembered a dream last night until now.

I was back in my old neighborhood where I lived 4 or 5 years ago and my current friends were there as well. We were walking to some basketball courts near the elementary school which was close by. As we get close we notice that all the courts are filled up and I forget what one of my friends suggested to do to get them off the courts(it was really retarded I think). As we got closer the guys just seemed to leave or fade away and the basketball courts seemed to be changed from what I could remember. Now that I think of it, there never were basketball courts there... there were just tennis courts. Fuck. Well the parking lot was changed into a basketball court I guess and the hoops from what a remember were huge like 30-40 ft tall.

I guess a possible dream sign could be basketball?

on the subject of dream interpretation... a while ago i had a strange dream

on a familiar road i saw a girl sitting on the corner (nothing special yet), she looked sad so i went to comfort her (any time i see some1 in need of help ill go over). I walked up and stood there quietly, tried to say something but i couldnt (things usually start out akward with me), still i felt comfortable in the silence (i feel comfortable when things r quiet when i trust some1), she starts singing softly, sadly, beautifully, (ill often have quiet discussions about peoples problems, people usually speak calmly to make things seem ok), i smile, she smiles... looks down... and stops singing (things get sadder here... people see me happy but dont know im just happy to be helping... so they stop telling me things in hope of keeping me happy... this is when those people get worse...) i look down with her, sad she has stopped singing (i dont want people to shut me out) theres blood on the ground, i look up at her, shes bleeding...(people tell me they are ok but things are realy bad) she looks up sad/scared, i ask if i can help, she turns away, i ask again, she turns away, i turn her around and move her hand,(i often force my way in because i hate to see people like that, i cant ignore their pain) shes cut (often my relationships include... self harm) i look up slowly and ask to help, she nods and hugs me,i feel better (usually im thanked by now) i blink and suddenly im out of my body ( this is where i lose control of the situation) she turns me around, takes out a plastic bag and smothers me with it, i do nothing to stop her, im happy, im smiling and i feel happy (i lose control and the situation kills me, i dnt try to get out for fear i will hurt the person but i like it, i like being this low if shes happy) a bus pulls along the side of the rode, a hand full of people inside it (my friends? upsb?) the bus honks its horn... again... i wake up... again? again? i look up and my phone is vibrating on the desk making the sound the bus made... my friend called, woke me up... saved me... thanks to him

in summary, this dream seems to sum up a few of my worse relationships, often ive ended up hurting myself from these, i know i shouldnt but i do... and sometimes i miss those days... but recently thanks to upsb, randomhero and some other friends, ive been feeling better... i dno if the dream has anything to do with anything but thats how i understood it

Hmm, about two years ago I held a presentation about Lucid Dreaming for my english class. My partner didn't to anything -.-, but it was fun to tell my class about it. They were all omgz, iz it realzz? Sad to say I'm not a really good lucid dreamer, only had a handful of them... Most of them were DILD's though.

Has anyone here experienced sleep paralysis? I get that a lot when I wake up from really realistic dreams. I've grown accustomed to it, but it still freaks me out. I've read that sleep paralysis can induce lucid dreams, but I've never archieved that.

Yes, sleep paralysis is so gay. Ive woken up a few times without being able to move and stuff like after ive been strapped to a table or someone bashing the crap out of me in a dream or something. its really scary.

There Lucid dreams so far have been nicer to me although i read that they can/are more commonly nightmares or something like that. ive gotten some serious boning done while ive been sleeping. yay for lucid dreaming.

    ...oh god..
you know... one of the bigggest nightmares i've ever had...
i dont even know why it was scary, it was so retarded
i was dreaming i was asleep, in a room, on a tall narrow bed...
and i opened my eyes, and turned my head to the side
and a few feet beside me, on a shorter bed, there was a wooden vanquilatrist type doll.
it turned and looked at me at the same time
and at that moment, i just freaked the hell out
everything in my head was screaming to get out, and i woke up, and i was lying in my bed and i couldn't move and i couldn't scream even though i was trying to
    *shudder*

I lucid dream on a daily basis, I ALWAYS know when I am dreaming, I know I can wake up at anytime. That's how I've trained my body clock. I get less than 5hrs of sleep a night so it always reoccurs. It gets annoying some days, especially when you dream its something that you have to do later that day. It's kind of sad really.

    Dream interpretation

1.) IS LIKE A FORTUNE COOKIE. Dreams are merely the mind's way of doing a [.cache] dump.
2.) There is nothing significant or revelationary in dreams, there is no extraordinary thought process that happens.
    - R.E.M. sleep is just the vivid part of the memory dump.

Ah, so i've been trying to learn how to lucid dream again and I read some info that said to develop various reality checks. So for the past week, every night before i sleep i've started a habit where i would look at my hands and count 10 fingers. Last night when i fell alseep i finally had a short lucid dream where i was in the bathroom, i looked at my hands and counted 6 fingers on my left hand so I immediately new i was dreaming. I morphed the washroom into a field and started to walk around but got too excited and woke up >.< I want to learn to fly in my dreams, that would be fun :>

I have never heard anything about this Lucid Dreaming untill I read this thread.
I never knew it had a term.
    I CAN do this.
I have been able to control my dreams before.
Now I can keep a journal, to learn more about this.
I will start on Monday, I hope I can master this.

I have very strong memories of Lucid Dreams, this is one:

I was walking down a alley at night, moving very slow, I remember wanting to get to my house very badly.
I was hurt, my leg had been cut.
I started to fall to my knees.
I looked at my hands, they were glowing.
I touched the grimy cement below me.
I then concentrated on going home, the ground split.
I reached my hands between the spliting ground and pulled it open, I could see my bed, so I jumped.
I was now laying in my bed, looking at my wound, my hands no longer glowing.
I gently touched my wound, and then concentrated on it becoming a scar, I succeeded

Thats everything I remember, after that I woke up laying in my bed and my leg had a itch were the wound in my dream once was.

I have seen few lucids and I love it. The power.

Although, one time my lucid was broken. I knew I was dreaming but my dream didnt took my orders. Then I decided woke up.

About remembering dreams, I remember always my dreams but I dont think that helps with lucids. You should try to do reality checks.

    uhh

remembering your dreams is obviously the fundamental technique before you even attempt lucid dreaming.

if you can lucid dream but you don't even remember you did it, it is absolutely no different than not dreaming at all.... in fact you can't tell if you did lucid dream or not or have the power to.

  22. kuhfi
    Date: Wed, Dec 24 2008 13:59:14

imo everyone has the power to do it, but not everyone has got the endurance to practice.
I did it like a couple of months ago, but then i just stopped to write down my dreams, so i also stopped lucid dreaming even though i had very much successes on inducing them.
I actually love it - its just a way how you can make your dreams way more interesting and also a way to find out things about your personality.

I can't remember my dreams well enough though I've been trying for a good while. Any help?

  24. kuhfi
    Date: Thu, Dec 25 2008 14:00:48

You can remember your dreams at best after you just woke up. The most important thing is: dont move!
The more you move, the less your body will remember your dreams. Its important to stay in this phase, after you moved, your body will start to forget your dreams. If you didnt move at all and still cant remember anything, thats normal, try it again the next day. If you start reminding them slowly, you'll get practice.

How long does one sleep cycle last? Because I heard that if you wake up right after the sleep cycle ends, it's easier to remember.

actually i think ive had some lucid dreams... my powers were weak facepalm.gif like to the point where i was like... hell, this is a dream, i cld have telekinesis *concentrates* i cld actually feel the stress and wat ide imagine it feels like (hard to explain) and it took a long time for me to like pick up a stick >.< but i knew i was dreaming dam it... just my knowledge of physics makes it not work

ive also had dreams where i try to fly and occasionally do get off the ground... but dont get far

is there anything i can do to "strengthen my in-dream power?"

also this sleep paralysis sucks too >.< like when u wake suddenly, eyes wide open, feels like uve been up for ages, heart beating hard and fast
but just cant do anything at all

usually happens when i wake up via
    - sudden shock in dream ( *turn around* *SHARK* "BAH!" *wake up, cant move*)
    - pain in dream ( *turn around* *CAR!* *close my eyes* *2 seconds later open them, awake with random body parts hurting or stiff, cant move*)
    - mental strain in dream (and physical strain?) (like in the example in the 1st part of this post)
    - when i need to pee in reality... coz my body is a bitch and hates me, so it stops working... when i kinda need it to >.<

can anything bad come out of this?
how long does it usually last?

  27. yani
    Date: Sat, Dec 27 2008 22:22:02

^ sounds like you're trying too hard. you've come a long way though, I've never managed to fly in my dreams o.o. don't get too excited, that way you'll wake up. just calm down and take it easy, try taking full control of your dream before attempting telekinesis.

I think sleep paralysis is pretty common. I've never had anything bad come out of it, except the nightmares and feeling like I'm dying. wink.gif I have it everytime my sleep schedule gets messed up, so umm, yeah, that could be a factor.

    with me it usually lasts for about half a minute, depends. during that time I sometimes get to see flashy 70's lights and hear someone cackling or total darkness and static noise. really creepy O.o;

I don't know how you usually wake up from sp, but I found out wiggling your toe/fingers really helps! you should wake up in no time.

there's a lot of sites on sleep paralysis, they're really interesting^^

  28. kuhfi
    Date: Thu, Jan 1 2009 11:35:00

    Sleep paralysis IS common.

The best thing to strenghen zur in-dream-power is practice.

And, there cant come anything bad out of this. Thats just dreaming. Your body offers you to.

ok this is really weird. i got this last night. thought i might share.

Ok last night I had 2 dreams.

In the first one, i was going overseas on holiday to.. i dont know where. Then i met Icepray. (I dont know how he looked like. Can't remember. never seen a picture of him before though. I jjust knew it was him) and then we walked around and talked and then I met Devil'sun. (He looked like someone on TV. Never seen a picture of him IRL but in my dream i knew it was him.) And we talked. And then I stayed in the country for 2 days. Can't remember much of the details though. And here's the stange part. I forgot how, but suddenly in my dream, i thought I could be dreaming and everything around me was a dream. And then I realised I was dreaming. And as soon as I realised that, I tried to change my dream and sorta woke up. I didn't really wake up. I was still sleeping but some of my senses were awake. I could feel my feet touching the edge of the bed and I could make out that I was sleeping face down but I didn't move or anything. Sudenly. an image appeared in my head. It was a picture of my feet touching the edge of the bed as though I was looking through the bed. But i don't know if my eyes were open.

Then I fell asleep again and had another dream.

In my second dream, my friend, my family and I, were away in another country. Not really on holiday. I don't know what country it is and me and my friend were trying to find a job in the building we lived in. Half the building was for people to live in like a house. The other half had shops and stuff where people worked. The floor below the house that I lived in was a restaurant. And I remember me and my friend going there to meet my parents and tell them I couldn't find a job there lol.. and I can't remember the rest of it. And then I woke up.

I checked the clock and had been asleep for about 12 hours.

    Lol..

    Help me please someone?

  30. kuhfi
    Date: Fri, Jan 2 2009 14:18:36

    Well, congratulations!

In the first dream you actually got lucid (or you got you conciousness back, however you want to call it.), but the dream didn't last long enough so you could try it out. smile.gif

Also, its a good thing you wrote them down. The more you write them down, the more easily you'll notice you're dreaming.

The picture you've seen could've been a "hypnagoge picture". Everyone sees these pictures, always, and i mean ALWAYS before he falls asleep. But nearly nobody notices them, i don't do it, too. Even after weeks of practice. In this "hypnagoge phase" you see these pictures, they could be everything that has come to your mind, but you also hear sounds, mostly common are screams/voices etc. If you ARE in this phase you could practice a technique for inducing a lucid dream thats called WILD (lol, i know. Wake-Initiation of Lucid Dreams). Actually, if you're conciously in a hypnagoge phase, you already did the half of it. If you are in the hypnagoge phase, you have to let it go. Just watch it/listen to it. After a couple of moments you can try to enter a dream.

You couldn't move because you were probably in the sleep paralysis.

Oh shit, i want to start writing my dreams down again. Ima try out having a lucid dream again w00t^^

PS: If you think i'm a liar: im not. I read two books about lucid dreams and ive been active in a german lucid dream forum, also ive been practicing it for a couple of months and i got around ~20 lucid dreams by inducing them. Hell, lucid dreams are the best thing that can happen to you. Its so much phun biggrin.gif

Lol. Yes. The hypnagoge phase variies from person to person. It actually can be very scary, but thats all. It can also happen that you dont hear anything and just see some pictures of memory footprints. It cant harm your body in any way, also it can't do mental damage. Its possible that it doesnt even happen. I know it sounds scary, but its really nothin to fear about^^

    xD
I still get it, but grew accostumed to it so it doesnt bother me as much.

ok i got a dream last night.

I only remembered the last part of it.

    Here it is:

It was a first day of school and I was in senior year. (i've graduated in real life btw) My class and teacher was the same as IRL. But there was a new class. A junior class. And they had the same teacher as mine. And at the last lesson of the school day, both classes were held in the same classroom so there were 2 classes in 1 classroom. And in there was an electric guitar with a huge amplifier with the distortion effect on. (i play electric guitar in real life too). My classmate walked up to the guitar and started plucking abit. The sound was loud and everyone was talking and playing but the teacher didn't do anything. It was like we had no lessons. I wanted to walk up and borrow the guitar so I could play a little. But I didn't cause I had this classmate that play drums and likes to say bad things about me. And if i played the guitar he'll say things like "oh look. he's gonna play the same song he always play." or "aiyah.. i've seen people play better than that". So I just sat there and watch my friend play the guitar instead. Suddenly. she started playing a song. A nice song. She played very fast too. But there was something wrong. The sound was too low. She was playing all the high notes but the sound that came out was very low. The song sounded familiar and i wanted to ask her. But I just sat there and listened. Then I woke up.

Oh and i actually remembered the tune of the song after I woke up. but like 2-5 minutes after that I forgot lol..

    had a dream too...

I was at the corridor lining up getting ready to enter the classroom. Then, Ira passed by and we said hi to each other. When we got to the classroom, our teacher scolded me and I punched him but he got a gun. I ran away and he chased me. Then I find myself in a gym, working out, and then I wake up.

    sounds stupid but... idk

now it's a very weird dream...

In my dream, I was a child, about 5 years old. My dad told me to go to Japan to visit our relatives. And I asked my dad, "Is someone coming with me?", Then he told me I was alone. Luckily, I see a kid about the same age as me going to Japan as well. I thought he'd be coming with me but no, I was left because I didn't know what to do, so my maid helped me and then I get to go to Japan, I was crying and such because no one was with me. When I arrived in Japan, I saw my self about 20 years old, and an old rich looking man was waiting for me for dinner. Then a lady arrived to join us. After the dinner, the old man was left in the restaurant and I was about to cross the street. When I crossed the street, the lady walking with me was gone(same lady who joined us). Then I see some 2 gangztah looking Japanese and I thought they might beat me up or something but they were just going to do parkour lol. Then my dream got cut.

    2nd dream

I was at a grocery with my mom and there was a voice somewhere telling me something about assassins that they were highly skilled, can kill anyone, etc. Then someone threw a tissue roll at my mom, I saw the woman who threw it, but I wasn't able to do anything. My mom chased the woman but the woman suddenly vanished, and I saw her behind my mom acting as a janitor(so I came up with the conclusion she might be an assassin lol). Then I was at a bookstore with my dad, looking for pencils with rubber grips(probably because I keep on thinking on what grip I should use for my self mod). Well, I couldn't find any so a saleslady came to help me but I told her I really wanna pee and so she waited for me outside the CR. But while entering the CR, I came across a man coming out of the girl's CR and he has a gun shot on his left forearm(probably a woman disguised as a man and got shot by the assassin) and then my dream got cut.

    3rd dream

There was this voice talking to me and telling a story about a great hero who was able to kill a lion. They told me he was hurling the lion towards the wall all the time but the lion won't let go, so the lion used it's powers to make it's teeth larger so that the victim won't be able to escape. But out from nowhere, the victim was able to escape from the lion which caused the lion's head to blow up on it's own because it's teeth are so large(idk why lol), and he became a hero. Then, a voice was talking again and telling a story about a boy who had powers that if you kissed him on the cheek, a bowl will come out from his hand. Then suddenly, that bowl was given to Spongebob and Spongebob had no time for Gary anymore so he just used that bowl as Gary's shelter but Gary didn't like it so he left Spongebob and Spongebob was the one who used that bowl as a shelter instead...then I thought(in my dream) "Huh? this is weird wtf. All I know is I wanna pee now. Oh yeah, this is just a dream.". Then I wake up.

I get weird dreams often...probably because I sleep while I'm full lol and my first attempt to sleep that night, I wasn't able to sleep because I couldn't breath..idk why ><

  40. Metalm3
    Date: Sat, Feb 14 2009 19:49:47

Ok so Idk why the hell this happens but at times, when I've lied on the bed for like 10 minutes, and when I'm preparing to go to sleep, sometimes, I can feel myself moving outta my soul. And yes, my vision was that there were black lines on the background like waves and i have to strain my eyes to wake up. It usually happens a few times in a row.

Next is dreaming in a dream. There were a couple of times when I found myself dreaming in my dream. Idk how to explain but it's true - having a dream in a dream. It's like... you thought you're awoke but you're actually STILL in a dream.

    (Anyway, what's a lucid dream?)

    LOLOLOL..

I had alot of dreams last night. I only remember one though.

Me and some spinner walked to a bus stop beside an expressway and we waited for a bus to arrive to go somewhere. (I forgot where). I went to look at the sign and saw that bus 7 and some other buses came to the stop. We waited for a long time and I asked him what bus we were going to take and he said that I'l find out when it comes. There were only 2 of us there. Maybe some others but I can't remember.

Then we waited some more and I started to get restless and walked around the bus stop. It had alot of trees and flowers around it and it was very colourful. There was also a steep drop behind it. Below was a huge field with industrial buildings built on it like nuclear powerplants and electrical generators etc. On one end of the bus stop, there was an escalator leading into the ground. The floor of the bus stop had orange tiles and green pillars. I asked if I could go down the escalator and he said yes. Below was almost the exact same thing as above. Another bus stop, another expressway, same scenery etc. The only differences that I could pick out was a flyover (from the expressway on top) and that the road here had no cars on it and there were 2 escalators at the end of the bus stop now. One leading down again and the other was from the one I came from.

(ok I just figured this part out while typing this. I never realised this while dreaming. Both escalators on the bustop below were leading down. How I managed to get up using the same escalator I don't know. It somehow just changed direction when I wanted to go up but I never realised it.)

After that I went back up and got back to my friend. I told him what I saw and asked if he had went down the 2 escalator before and he said yes. I asked if it was OK to go down and he said it was so I went down. 3 floors down was totally different. It was as though I've decended below the ground. Everything was of red earth. There was a huge room with red pillars and red walls and pipes running across the room with red soil on them. I walked to one side and there was an opening where you could see the plains and industrial buildings.

From here onwards I didn't remember anything but somehow I ended up walking on the field where the buildings were. There was a purple nuclear reactor on the field and I walked past it. It looked like something on the back of my friend's vacuum cleaner I saw earlier that day IRL lol.. Both of us walked back into the red room (I don't know how) and he said something and we began to run back to the escalator that led up. i can't remember what he said but it sounded really urgent that we had to go quick. I do know that it has nothing to do with the bus coming. We stepped over the pipes and I brushed against a pillar and it was slimy like as though it had wet paint on it. I looked at my hand and there was red paint with a bit of black on it.

I wiped it off on another pillar as we ran past it and we continued running and after that I don't remember anything.

i had many dreams last night but I only remembered that one. It was the longest one I had.

    double post..

OK i had a dream last night.

We were at night and I was going to take the Singapore Flyer with a group of friends. While waiting for some elevator, we decided to take pictures and we laughed and talked but the elevator never came. We walked away to check out the area and sawe othert people going to take the elevator. When they went closer, the elevator came and soon, they were gone. The elevator was really special cause it could move up, down, left, right and even in and out.. like on a 3D axis. It had brass corners and was glass all around. We were a playful lot and we had alot of fun.

    And then I woke up.

    That's reality for me.

On the topic of lucid dreaming,

I had a dream where I was in a black and white room, gloomy themed, room with a stuffed bunny toy and nothing else, no furniture, door, or windows. I started playig with the toy until a grotesque figure kinda came out of the wall on the other side of the room. The figure kinda swooped its way to me and started choking me. I woke up and I couldn't breathe for at least 15 seconds and felt cold hands on my throat. Until I gained 100% of my body back, there was no one there. Scary huh?

Ok I had an afternoon nap just now. I slept from afternoon to late evening, just before the usual dinnertime here, although I had dinner much much later.
I slept after I came back from going out. Not sure if it's of any relevance but whatever.

Anyway this is the dream I had and can only remember.

Um.. i was having a penspinners gathering with people from around the world. I could only remember Wind was there. Other people were there too but I don't remember. It was at my place we were spinning and stuff and I did a bakfall and someone was like, whoa bakfall man! And I said yeah to him.

I was talking to wind and asked him where he lived in Singapore and he said Chua Chu Kang, which was where my school was so I told him it was near my school and he said OK and he packed his bag and left and after that everyone left and the gathering was over. I don't even remember walking them to the front door or anything. I think it was then that I woke up.

I'm posting this 3 hours after I woke up lol.

Last night I dreamed I was in the bath but then waves in my bath started getting huge and spilling over the rim. They kept getting bigger and were now smashing down stuff from around my bath. Only after waking up, I realized that in my dream I was having a bath in my sink in an bigger form o.O

Lucid dreams ruin my [censored] life!
    I think...
Anyway, every night I pretty much dream the exact same thing (for the 30 minutes-1 hour of sleep I actually get).
I can actually remember most of the dialogue, and where I don't I at least know the general idea.
Like I said, it's pretty much the same dream, not exactly the same dream. Ergo, there's going to be some small things that change from time to time.
But again, I know the general idea.

On to the lucid dream! Or, as it is, a lucid nightmare.
I fall asleep, and after a little while of tallying up all the good/bad things my mind recalls throughout the day, I eventually fall into the dream. I've just been through this intense fight (you wouldn't understand unless you read the books I wrote) with a girl who used to be in my classes from 2nd through 8th grade. And by fight, I don't mean argument; I mean battle. Anyway, she knocks me unconscious somehow--it varies, sometimes she breaks my nose, sometimes my forehead, sometimes my temple and sometimes the back of my head; in a handful of these cycles, she chloroforms me! Anyway, I'm unconscious, and I have a short little dream (yes, a dream inside a dream), and later I wake up from the nested (inner) dream and find that she's got me kneeling on the ground with my arms tied together. The first line of dialogue I never quite remember very well, but this girl is mad as all hell (Two of the ones I remember the most clearly are, "You dare to do something like that?" and "I can't believe you did that!") And from there she begins beating me up relentlessly--she grabs me by the neck and throws me across the room, then runs after me. I barely have time to exclaim "What did I do?!" before she hits me in the stomach with her knee and cuts off my air supply. I fall to the ground on my hands and knees and try to recover the stamina I just lost. I anticipate another blow immediately following, so I cower and say "I'm sorry! What do you want?!" And she resumes brutally beating me up. The next thing I know, I'm covered in blood and barely conscious. She has me pressed into a corner and I have no way of getting out, so I'm left with pretty much no choice but to surrender.

    /applause "Audience v1.1" "4.5 s"

I forgot to mention: the girl actually hates me in real life.
Anybody want to help me out here?

i watch a doco on sbs (australian tv channel, full of docos, foreignese news and "documentary pron") about dreaming
some of the things i picked up from them:

    1. dreams are a way to learn:
the mind, during a dream, takes from your memory various information, and compiles them into some sort of solution to a problem
the example in the doco was that a guy plays a alpine ski game (u know the ones in arcades) before he sleeps, and at various times during the night, he was woken and told to recall his dreams
at first, his dreams were about the game itself, but later, his dreams were about walking in the footsteps of someone who's already walked in the snow, and mentally, he discovered that it was much easier than walking in fresh snow
and this was a vital solution... or something... i live in australia, so i dont know much about skiing or snow... or the cold XD

    2. nightmares are a way to mentally prepare you for adversity
as a child, you might have had some nightmares of wolves or other dangerous animals chasing you
that was the human mind's defence system for the waking world
as a cave man, you would have had a nightmare of being chased by a saber tooth tiger, and this mental preparation of the nightmare will help you if you actually do get chaced by a tiger
as we develop into adults, the nightmares also develop, encompassing more modern day threats, which also prepares you for the waking world, for example, a dream where you are lost at school and you are late for your class, sort of thing

there were more points, like post traumatic stress disorder, rem sleep linking with stroke victims and dream interpretations (fun fact, we hardly ever, 1/5 for men and 1/6 for women, dream about our partner), but i dont think they're relevant to this topic

entity, i think ur dream is linked to the 2 points i mentioned
the learning thing, (noting that everything i type from this point forwards is not an analysis from a real psychiatrist) is mainly your surrender at the end of your dream
it may be a sign (dont like the use of that word here... also hate message) to stop the fighting between you two in your waking life
i dont think it means make up/become friends, just dont display your bitterness towards her, just let it go

the second, is jsut mental preparation for a big fight you might have, whether its with this girl, or getting jumped by a gang, i dont know, but preparation for a conflict

    -------------------

ok, now my turn to share some dreams

actually, again with the above doco, in some tribal villiage, the villiagers share their dreams and have them interpreted by the elders, and that apparently helps or something

    anyway, my dream telling time:

this is the dream i had the night i watched the doco:
i was playing soccer/football with my old soccer team from a year ago
the opposing team shoots or crosses, the ball goes over the crossbar, it bounces back into play and the opponent heads it in for a goal
i appeal to the ref that the ball did go over, and the ref takes me aside to tell him what happened
we somehow walk to the change rooms/club rooms and along the way, he asks me about the school student council election system, which i explain to him that its a whole school vote, yada yada yada, also mentioning who is on the council now
then he ways that seeing as the school student body took the effort to elect the council, he says that Channel 7 (one of the tv networks in australia) will think up a slogan for the school (with a representative from 7 magically appearing there)
also, he said something (really vague) will happen in the school media room, and me being a media student, was rather excited
then there is this grey area, i remember what happened, but i really dont know how to explain it, something about the channel 7 rep being a bit weird, something about bird soap (wft?) and survivor (the tv show)
then, the ref and i go back to the match, the ref indicates that the above was infact a legal goal, and our team kick off
at this point, the opposing team start chanting from behind the goals, trying to taunt me
our striker gets the ball shoots, is deflected by the keeper, their defender also slides into a pile up with the striker and keeper, leaving the goal wide open, and the ball rolls out my way. i shoot, and i kick it over the crossbar
then, i'm pretty sure i manipulated the dream to replay the goal scene, in which this time, i completely miss the ball (swing and miss) i turn to regain possession, a shoop, but the second attempt is a soft pass back to the second defender
    /awake

this dream, i realise, atleast the shooting part, were the 2 mistakes i made while actually playing for the team last year, one i missed an open goal, and the other was a weak shoot to the keeper
i dont know why these come back to me now, seeing as i didin't play this year, and i wont play next year

Hey guys, Captain Golf Ball here! I am glad that someone did this Lucid Dream thread. I was thinking that there weren't a lot of people who were aware of Lucid Dreaming. I had my first Lucid Dream about 3 months ago. Ever since then I have been working on my Dream Recall by putting down my dreams into a journal. I now have about 3 mos. worth of dreams recorded and now I am fully capable of controlling ALL of my dreams. I have done a lot of research and study What Is Sleep, etc. I usually lucid dream on weeknights because that is when my sleep patern is steady. On the weekends I may or may not go to sleep around 1:30 AM or so. But if anyone has any questions about Lucid Dreaming, send me a message because I feel like I have a lot of knowledge on this subject!

    Happy Dreaming!

ive done lucid dreaming before, its pretty epic. but takes a lot of practice. dont expect it do be something you can do immediately and if you do, ur first few will suck.

    Examples
Try 1: thought i woke up so i was like "dammit" and did my everyday stuff.
Try 2: actually worked. i was in my living room and there was this guardian( zerg monster from starcraft) so i was like wtf? and touched it. it felt slimy and i on it and rode it around LA.

But yeah its a good experience.

thats good. usually its hard to maintain a dream when u find out you are actually in one. Staying Lucid is one of the hardest parts for me, however I'm pretty good at Dream Spinning, (which is when u can extend ur dream past its original ending point). When I'm in a dream, I can control myself to do reality checks, like observe a clock and see if it is really working or not. If it isnt, i remain calm and recognize that i am in a dream. Then I can begin the fun part, Free Dreaming.

Any other questions PM me people!

    No, no experience yet.

the most I've gotten is part asleep and i use my imagination to control what I see when my eyes are closed. I don't think that's really lucid dreaming because I can wake up and i'm partially aware of my real life surroundings.

    Recently I had a dream. I can't remember when.

I forgot the details too but here's the main idea.

I signed up for a 42.195km run, like what they organize here.

I signed up with my parents, who don't run irl but they were very prepared in the dream.

I saw the route where we were supposed to run on the map and i recognized the places i'm supposed to be running at. It didn't look as though it was 42km but if that's what the map says then ok. I thought the distance between the places we were supposed to run were quite reasonable and was alot less than 42 km although at one point it did look as though it could be 42 km, i was skeptical though.

somehow I didn't manage to run because I got caught up with stuff like talking to friends, preparations, packing and stuff like that so i was really late for the event and I never ran.

I can't remember anything after that.

    So oh mah gawd!!!!

Yesterday I started reading up about this and some crazy stuff happened
So it was my first night after knowing about lucid dreaming and I was going to record my dream when i woke up.
I woke up at 7.30 and couldnt remember what I dreamt of so >_> i thought id try again tomorrow.

I was still quite tired and fell back asleep, but i was half-conscious. And i was actually dreaming! I was like in an aeroplane and the control systems are like how you use the wii remote when you fly on wii sports resort. so i had this little cuboid thing and it was like a wii mote but i was in the aeroplane and i was watching it from above. Then i tilted it down and nearly crashed into the floor and i could like feel my legs moving cause i was scared lol. And i was like moving my hand irl and it transferred it to my dream.

It was so awesome but only lasted about 3 minutes.

I had a lucid dream last night and here's how it went:

I was at school in a classroom. I glanced at my friends watch which read 11:70 (xD lolwut) I RC'd and became lucid. I said bye to my friend and told him I was dreaming and I walked outside. I was going to fly somewhere (maybe nowhere, just to play around I guess) when I remembered that I wanted to try spinning to stabilize my dream (even though I was fully lucid) because I had never tried it before. I spun and from the edge to the center of my dream, it faded to the darkness of my eyelids.

For some reason I never need to stabilize in my dreams. They are always perfectly fine but whenever I try to stabilize the darkness thing happens xD I think I'll give up on stabilization since A. I don't need it and B. It makes me wake up. Ahhhh... Another LD wasted thanks to stabilization.

Oh, I was really happy today since I realized that I can have an LD almost any night I want (can be stuffed) to biggrin.gif

If you say you were conscious yes but could did you control your actions by will and actually 'think' within the dream, should I kill this person, etc? You are only Lucid if you actually acknowledge the fact that you are dreaming and then later you may be able to control your actions...

So you can answer the question on ur own if you were Lucid or not by remembering if you controlled ur actions or not.

The idea of being able to control your life (in your dream) is fascinating.
Being able to fly, walk through walls, and make people do what you want is also very interesting.
I am following the wikibooks guide in order to experience a Lucid dream since i dont think i have ever had one.
    I hope i experience one soon biggrin.gif

Indeed Simplex, when u wake up but are still tired HIGHLY increases your chances because you awoke then go back to sleep, so you already used up most of your "sleep energy" to put it simply. Once you wake up, you have used a lot of brain power, then to fall back asleep you are kinda not FULLY asleep, therefore it is easier to fall dream.

That sounds more of an out of body exp. It is I guess an aspect of Lucid dreaming if you can remember it and were conscious within your dream.

Actually Phua, you have 1000s of dreams every night, however the bigger and longer ones are obviously tougher to remember. I was like you before I started Lucid Dreaming, I NEVER had any dreams since I was like 12, but then I researched Dream Recall which Leads to Lucid Dreaming (http://dreamviews.com/induction.php).

If you want to Lucid Dream, you have to actually believe that you can!

O.O Thousands? How do you have multiple dreams? Is it having a dream, then kinda blacking out, then having another dream? Or is it more like a dream going completely different.

For example: I had a dream one time where I remember being on a train with my family. I seemed to be one the train for a while. Then all of a sudden I was getting off of the train and onto some kind of camp ground. When I walked around a corner and saw a huge arena. There were people in a pit and there were people in the stands throwing big red balls at them. The people in the ring tried to dodge them and whenever they were hit they went up in the stands until there was just one person left in the ring. Then the game started over. I played for a while but then I had to make a bathroom break. When I left the bathroom I saw my friend. He made me follow him past the arena. We came up to some girl and my friend said out of nowhere: "you're hott!" to the girl. Then there was some kind of big chase scene in an urban sort of city area. While running I came up to a mansion. I hid inside and broke a vase, then I woke up.

Would that be all one dream, or multiple? It seems like I can seperate it into 3 parts: the train ride, the game, and the chase scene.

That may be classifed as multiple. From what you described, it seems like over time your mind combined all of the dreams into one. But yes, you have almost 1000 dreams every night. Now remember what Dreaming is. a dream is just a image(s) that is displayed in your head, then you may have stories or like long experiences that can . So you may have only 1 long dream and tons of short flashing images.
But back to your question, I am not 100% sure if it is multiple dreams. The only person who will have the biggest clue on whether or not it is multiple or not is yourself because it was your dream(s).

    Hope that helps happy.gif

You may have just let your mind wander. I'm not sure if that would classify as a LUCID dream. You may have just been slightly controlling your dream, POSSIBLY, but I can not know for sure because it is your mind not mine. Lucid Dreaming is where you are actually WITHIN a dream and you acknowledge that you ARE within a dream. Pretty much it is like being awake in your mind while you are in a dream.

ive pretty much been able to control them all my life too, but alot of the time, i could remember being able to control them, but i could only remember most of my dreams for a short instant after i woke up. and i remember being able to tell myself to wake up because i know im dreaming.
but for the past few weeks after seeing this topic and thinking it was awsome, ive actually been able to remember my dreams for long term 1-3 days and been able to control them so much better and doing more crazy stuff in my dreams,

2 nights ago i drempt of having sex and it was really realistic and i could control it quite a bit...to much info ill stop ther.

today i drempt of me backfliping off a freaking huge ass building into a pool and surviving.. and thers much more to it but not gona write it.. not gona get into to much info. lol

and i have like 2-3 or more different dreams that i remember that day but today at night i can only really remember those 2 and one other

however i dont think i will be writing them down, because if some1 found them..... plus it wud be embarassing..

also it might have to do with winter break cause i sleep like 10-12 hours and my schedule is completely flipped. going sleep 6am and waking 6pm. and prob why ive been actually remembering recently.

but on normal school days i sleep 6-4 hours lol.. prob not enought time to really dream very well and not remember very well if at all.

and my dreams are constantly interupted by my parents etc.. trying to wake me up cause its fucking 2-6pm lol and im like fuck that and ill want to go back to my fucking amazing dream, and i often will

sometimes when you are undergoing any form of treatment, sometimes the meds can give you hallucinations or strange dreams sometimes. Other times you can have hallucinations when u arent even on meds.

If you ever want to experience dream controlling, i recommend setting ur alarm to about 2 hrs before u normally get up, that way you will be out of full sleep but still want to go back to sleep. When this happens, try to remember that u want to control ur dream. From this stage it is the easiet to control ur dreams because you had to wake up in order to turn alarm off, but go back into sleep almost instantly.

hmm....all I can recommend doing is keep trying to picture urself flying. If you believe you can in ur dream, then you will be able to. I know the 'if u believe' is kinda cliche but its true.

If u believe u can fly with a jetpack, u shuld be able to.

ok, so i think i have had a lucid dream moment
i'm always not sure if its lucid, or i'm just awake and just thinking stuff in my mind
but i'm pretty sure this was lucid

    its rather univentful though

so i was walking with my friends in some mall, deciding where to eat
there was a choice between macdonalds and burger king (well, called hungry jacks in australia for some copyright/name ownership reasons)
anyway, so i (lucidly) decide i want bubble tea, so i go to a bubble tea shop further down and one of my friends follow me
i decide on mango flavour, but then i lose control of my dream and apparently my mum, aunt and cousins were with me

question: does lucid dreaming affect sleep levels / fatigue levels?
ie. does having awareness of your dreams and controlling them take out energy or stop you from resting?

For some people, yes, for others, no.

Myself, for example, it doesnt affect my energy recovery in sleep. But for others, they may not feel as refreshed as they normally do.
It just depends on the person I guess. Some people may grow used to not having a FULL sleep. But i dont know really.

Glad to hear that you think you had a Lucid Dreaming / Dream Control Moment.

At first i kept tryin just to make sure. then i was pretty convinced i was lucid. i walked down the stairs and went out the front door. I walked for a little down the trial until i decided to start jogging. bad idea. a few seconds after jogging i felt myself slipping back into reality. the end

That is a great start. Since you were able to perform a reality check within your dream, it shows that you have potential to Lucid Dream much more often. Sometimes when people run (either away or to something) they may wake up. I dont know why but I read somewhere that activities that would raise your Heart Rate in the Real World may wake you up occasionally when Dreaming.

    Great Job Cecil!

I can do it. But it has to be after waking up without an alarm.

The best way is to oversleep, and go back to sleep immediately after the initial wake up

This is the quickest way to reach the lucid stage. That's how I do it.

the only thing that's ever worked for me is to repeat a phrase while falling asleep, to try to stay "conscious" of your state

so if i'm still saying "lucid dream" or whatever, when i just start to dream, then i realize that i'm dreaming and become lucid

  142. CaptainGolfBall
    Date: Wed, Feb 17 2010 04:16:14

that usually works. If the last thing that you say before you go to bed is Stay Conscious (etc.) that will HIGHLY raise your chances of becoming Lucid within a dream

well it really doesn't matter what you say, you could say "banana pancakes" over and over lol, the point is not that you're *commanding yourself* to lucid dream, but instead that you're trying to get some cue that you're in a dream (Ie if you find yourself on the moon chanting "banana pancakes", you'll remember that you're sleeping and not actually on the moon, and thus you'll be in a lucid state)

Can anyone WILD? I actually haven't ever been able to do WILD (Wake Initiated Lucid Dream) until two days ago. Up until then I would do DILD. My first experience was really scary because I wasnt used to Sleep Paralysis and the voices and sounds that you hear when you are passing into the dream state.

Care to share experiences? How do you relax your body (ie Do you count to 100, do you walk up and down stairs etc.)?

If you are unsure what WILD is go here: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/showthread.php?t=9806

The titles says dream interpretation. Now interpret me one of my dreams that I had last night. It was probably the longest one I had that night.

My dog was pregnant. My dog is a male dog and he had a big round belly and was pregnant. I remember being in the staircase of our old house and as I entered the elevator, I saw my dog lying on the ground and told my mom that our dog was in there, she said he had to rest. I told her to write on a paper that this dog is just resting so that people would not try and take him or anything. She did. I then got inside the apartment which looked neither like our new nor our old apartment. I asked my mom if the dog would have to have a c-section to deliver the babies, she said yes. I can't remember how but suddenly my dog is lying besides me on the couch and is starting to have the babies, no c-section they just come out somehow, my view was blocked and I think I looked away because I didn't want to see. I remember at one point looking and seeing 2 baby dogs on the couch and my dog shooting some kind of after-birth out of his body, which literally went flying onto the table which made me puke in my dream. (I find births incredibly disgusting, no matter how wonderful people think it is).

Now, you tell me that isn't fucked up and stands for something.

  149. CaptainGolfBall
    Date: Thu, Feb 25 2010 00:08:43

well I'm not sure how to interpret that dream. However, if you practice lucid dreaming, then you will be able to control your dream. Therefore, if you don't want to see the birth, you could make it so the dog wasnt pregnant in the first place. Or you can close your eyes, etc. If you go to my profile page, and click on the spoiler called "Tips for Lucid Dreaming", I have some really easy techniques on how you can get started.

  150. strat1227
    Date: Thu, Feb 25 2010 00:49:52

It means your dog was pissing on your face while you were asleep I believe.

Actually no, I don't think it means anythign significant or "fucked up", just means maybe you thought about your dog before you went to sleep, and maybe something reminded you unconsciously of childbirth earlier in the day.

I always have weird non-sensical dreams like that, but they're ALWAYS related to something that happened to me either right before I went to sleep or sometimes during the day

I've had some pretty crazy dream recalls, when I still had my dream journal (which was just a piece of scrap paper I always found beside my bed).
I remember one was me standing at an intersection and a limo comes up and I just randomly walk in. The limo guy was my uncle. I look out the window after a few seconds of getting in and I see a rabbit running really fast. Suddenly I appeared behind the rabbit chasing it, then it got rocket boots and sped away.

Oh, and trying to stay concious is freakin' hard. Whenever try it, at the last second I think of something immature and end up laughing. confusedsmilie.gif

And yeah staying conscious is pretty hard, but practice makes perfect and the more you do it, you will be able to remain conscious even when laughing ;p

EDIT: btw, anyone using a dream journal? I used to use one until I discovered that WILD does not require dream journal (usually) because WILDs are much more vivid and easier to remember. However it is still fun to record them and reflect upon them later.

Thats good. keep it up! Dream Journals are always good. Especially because if you look back into the book in the future, your dream recall should be able to keep those memories. So if you read an old passage, that dream will come back to you and you will remember it again

  157. CaptainGolfBall

umm some people call Day Dreaming --> Lucid Dreaming. However it is a full Lucid Dream, you are completely disconnected from the real world and in the Dream World. For most Day Dreamers, you're usually zoning out and doing something while you day dream, or you incorporate what ever you're doing into your day dream.

So in short, it depends on how 'out of it' you are when you're day dreaming

  159. CaptainGolfBall
    Date: Sun, Feb 28 2010 16:21:50

yeah sounds like you were almost there. But while you're in SP, you have to keep your mind focused. Dont try to move while you're in SP. Just keep your mind focused. SP means that your body is starting to disconnect from your mind. When fully disconnected you will "awake" in your dream.

wait you guys have to tryyy? I thought like everyone has states opf semi consiousness aka Im asleep but I can play out the story how I want and things relate to my life, sometimes I forget what happens after I wake up if theres some really big distraction but otherwise im in semi full cntrol and i can choose what to happen what I want, but like not really it's ahrd to explain like ill be runnninga way from these monsters except they aren't scary monsters they're like circus freak friends and It's a really intricate plot and stuff and then I will go hide with the director of the freak show and something comes to eat us except it appeared earlier and it all coincides?...

There are nights where i'll continue a dream into consciousness because I love the story so much, and continue making stuff up but it's still a dream state as i'm not fully consious and I like force myself into the scenario and the plot is still there, ummm, other times I have 0 dreams at all...

My dreams are usually so complex and "long" that they would require a whole book to write down, like I start and HAVE a back story which I can recall or, sense time really isn't linear in my dreams it'll become like im a kid and then continue from there or then Im an adult, so it IS a complete story like a whole new life, no RANDOM SITUATION things, they usually end when there's a distraction or something or when i finally fall into complete consiousness, then the details become fuzzy, but I know WHILE i'm dreaming the complete detailsa re there because I can remember the overall outline and the fact that there ARE details... btw I don't really dream in color, OR black and white I don't really dream in like sight.... hmm? it's more like it's there type of feeling...and the physical feelings rather than eyesight and hearing and such...I can also initiate conversation if I wish during my dreams, I can't CHOOSE what I dream about or who, but it's always intresting imo...

  163. CaptainGolfBall
    Date: Mon, Mar 8 2010 00:47:37

Hmm interesting. Yes EoL, we all do have that state of semi-consciousness however it is harder for most people to be able to control the plot of their dreams etc. However, like you said you were only in semi-control etc. If you practice WILD (see my page for a tutorial) or normal DILD Lucid Dreaming, you are in FULL control of your dream.

Just last night I decided to WILD and I went directly from an awakened state into a dream state, skipping the process of falling asleep and having to become self aware by luck within my dream.

What happens to me is that once I enter my dream state, there is usually like a very simple dreamscape in front of me. Usually a hill or a meadow. Then from there I just concentrate on who or what I want to see in my dream, and then it appears due to my mind making it "real".

But I can kinda switch my control on and off. For example, last night I set my dream up and was talking to one of my friends when I sort of shut off my control and became a mere spectator and kind of watched my dream lay out.

Time is never a factor for your dreams because time is relative. There is no way to measure time when you are dreaming. Any time my dream starts to fade out or gets fuzzy, I do what is called Dream Spinning. This brings my dream back into focus and my dream extends.

This is all kind of hard to explain but if you go to my page I have a tutorial and tips on Lucid Dreaming. Also you can PM me your questions and stories and I can give you my 'professional' point of view.

Keep up the good work Lucid Dreamers!

i had a dream last week that i was walking with some people at school..then when i saw my friends, i stood up straight and i was a lot taller than all of them, and i was laughing....i wish this could be true irl...i wanna be taller >.< ......and sometimes i think i get nightmares? im having a happy dream like going to a restaurant and some hot girl comes to me and tells me to have sex w/ her, then later i will feel that i can't breath.. no matter how hard i struggle i cant..i always thought that whenever that happens im going to die...but later i get to move one of my fingers / limbs then i get to breath again and have full control over my body then wake up..

Here are the interpretations of your dreams:

This means that although you're not taller in height, you are taller in some other way. (eg. perhaps intellectually or power etc.) Because you had to stand up straight to be taller, this means that you are hiding your talent from them.

This means deep down you're self conscious and you need to relax. Everyone has faults and you must accept that people will still like you for who you are.

oh...thx...but about that 2nd meaning..idk if they would still accept me as "Clyde"...cuz my name is ruined in school T_T

    edit:

last night my dream was I was danny zuko (from grease)..i was having fun w/ my switchblade and my pompadour and leahter jacket..i was even singing and dancing while a group of men were around me( i presume they are the bullies im goin to be in a fight with)...then i just continued dancing till they all walked away...

the next scene is i went to a salon to have my hair cut and same w/ my idol....after the haircut i did have the same haircut w/ him, but when i went home, as i looked into the mirror, i had a crew cut..(my old haircut)...

then next scene is when it was dismissal already, then when i got home, i saw my friends before(some street children who lived in front of our condominium before who is now in another place cuz their houses were demolished..) i shaked hands with them, and we all remembered each other, and we all had fun and played pc games like what we did when we were young..

    edit 2:

i had a dream that me and some of my schoolmates were at a big wristwatch store....there were lots of watches and there was a big stand of watches..it was covered with thick glass...so what happened was they were teasing me like " you fat ass!! you suck!! stop pen spinning!! youre nothing!! " blalbabla then i kept punching the big stand of the watch...it doesnt break..then they were laughing..then i punched it so hard then it fell on them and they were all bleeding...and i was worried because some of the watches inside were broken...then our principal talked to me along w/ other students who witnessed what happened...she asked my why i did that...i said because they were teasing me and stuff..and i said im worried because i cannot pay for all the watches broken..then she said dont mind the watches, the school will pay for it, but i should worry about the people i hurt because theyre all injured...then she told me to calm down..but one of the witnesses talked to me and told me "when they insult you, dont fight back, it would only cause trouble" then i said "what fucking trouble!??! ill do what i fucking want beacuse they are insulting me!!" then i was shouting, kicking the table, punching the wall, threw the chair outside the window, then everyone was laughing and saying " ahahahahahahah what a fucking moron!! looks so stupid when hes getting angry!! hahaha fucking asshole!! lol!!!" then after that i was asking everyone for a fight then everyone was just laughing at me...then after that i was crying at the corner....

@Clyde, ur dreams are pretty personalized. Its hard for a third-party to interpret them. Especially edit 2. Sounds like either your subconscious either regrets or repressed memories from when u were younger. Were you bullied a lot earlier in life?

For me anyway; I had a CREEPY dream last night. SUPER DETAILED and Non-Lucid so I had no control over what happened. This one girl who I like was convulsing and dying right in front of me. And I couldn't help her. I took her hand and I started to cry and tell her everything was going to be okay. Then the convulsions slowed and so did her pulse. I pulled her into my lap and told her I loved her. She died in my arms. It was sooooo scary and sad.

I am nearly tearing atm........prolly the worst dream I have ever had.

EDIT: anyone else ever have horribly graphic dreams?

Just curious when you guys die in dreams what happens? it varies for me. Sometimes waking up, sometimes going to heaven or hell, sometimes my dream ends and I just don't dream for the rest of the night (maybe I have another dream but Idon't remember it, idk)

EDIT: I have had super graphic dreams, not lucid. Once I was in a plane accident, and like 3/4th of the people died. Somehow my leg was severed from the rest of my body (I was still alive). I could feel the pain like in real life (really hard to explain), the plane caught fire and I just layed there helpless while this girl about 18 tried to help me. We were both like screaming, and the fire was getting closer. She finally had to leave me, and I burned to death, feeling all the pain in real life kinda. I then woke up.

I have *died* in dreams quite a few times. Occasionally, like you, I will wake up, or go to heaven. But I also have been recently getting unexplained scratches on my body where things have happened to me in my dream. Not like Nightmare On Elm's Street or like CRAZY BIG cuts or anything. Just minor cuts. Idk where I'm getting them from. It always happens in my non-lucid dreams. During my lucid dreams, I save people from dying and change the outcome of dreams, but non-lucid dreams I have no control. It rly sucks ..

I'm planning on picking up WILD again over the summer, as I don't have to worry about walking up so early. For me I find that if I tell me self to, I can remember a dream, and even sometimes get it to be lucid if I can perform a reality check. I've read that its not the smartest thing to look into a miror while dreaming as you might be suprise of what you see, but for me, upon looking into the mirror I instantly gain some form of lucidity for a while. The feeling of going from non-lucid to lucid is cool happy.gif

Yeah I love lucidity. I have never attempted looking in a mirror in a dream...I will have to try that sometime! Good luck WILDing as well. When you were talking about reality checks, you know that you don't need a reality check if you WILD right?

Btw, WILD tutorial on my profile if anyone is interested ^^

idk if this was lucid or not..my dream last night was that i fought w/ one of the bullies and i beat the shit out of him...i can feel his punches, i can feel that i am beating him up, but i can't control what's happening...good thing i beat him up because maybe if i was the one beaten up maybe i would have died in my dreams and irl?

Hmm....well I am not sure if that is a Lucid Dream, only you would really know. All a Lucid Dream is when you are in a dream and you are conscious and in realization that you are dreaming. But dream control is a part of lucid dreaming which happens over time of practicing (like I have done), or being lucky and having a spontaneous controlling dream.

Also, I doubt you would have died irl. But I don't know; maybe a Nightmare on Elm's Street thing WOULD happen?!?!?!

has anyone seen the trailer for the movie "inception". It looks pretty cool and has to do with getting into other people's dreams i think.
