Since PS Conclave is gone, we could replace it with our own wiki.
The login for the wiki would be the same as the login for the board and we could associate your wiki rights with your membergroup.
For example, we could set a "need 20 forum posts to edit wiki" to prevent vandlism.
This is potentially a lot of work though to install, so we need to make sure ppl really want this. And it's gonna be a lot of work for people to copy their articles.
the address would be something like wiki.upsb.info
It would also probably dominate all other PS wikis, like Ephem, which sucks for him :/ -

I think we do need it. There are just too many questions that can be answered if we had the wiki.
I'll pitch in, just tell me what to do! -

well, most people tend to use wiki
if they happen upon to find us,
that might get the word out to everyone
then again, if its a lot of work,
i dont think we should stress anyone to go the extra mile -

A wiki is a great idea...as long as people actually contribute to it. PenspinZone seems to almost be a complete bust in that regard.

I'd use it...but i dont think i've been around long enough to make any sort of real contribution to it.

Rather a UPSB wiki then the regular one we already have.
-

I think it's a great idea - i would definitely use it, and contribute to it if i can.

I like the idea, and would help if I actually can! I don't have paypal, so I can't donate, but anything else I can try to the best of my abilities

I probably wouldn't use it that often but I would probably contribute every now and then if I knew how to. I don't particularly want to read the long ass guide like the one on penspinzone though.

I'd contribute... not sure how much/how frequently, but I'd try to do what I could for it. We could probably drop the article system too then...
I'd suggest waiting for the board switch though, since I imagine it would take a large deal of bandwidth... -

I think it's a good idea. As long as people contribute and make the site somewhat usefull.
Won't contribute alot myself, but would love to see a good UPSB wiki be done. -

I can try to contribute, but I haven't been spinning for long.

I think it's a great idea, I would definitely try my best to actively contribute. And it would be helpful for people who aren't even upsb members. If it got big enough, it could be a great resource like psconclave was.

Ok, I need 20 posts first.

Whatever happened to PS Concave?
-
Date: Sat, Sep 29 2007 04:10:33
It died, lost forever, never to be seen again.
-
Date: Sat, Sep 29 2007 04:52:13
More accurately, the hosting expired.
-
Date: Sat, Sep 29 2007 04:58:20
There was a backup of it though, right? What ever happened to that?
-
Date: Sat, Sep 29 2007 06:33:34
It seemed the back-up was unusable or something? Elliot sent to me the back-up, which I sent to NeXus, who, after a few hours working, said it was unusable. Or something like that. Long time ago...

i think a wiki is a great idea, and i will try my best to contribute if i could.
this would help alot of people and expand the penspinning circle. -

I can't say I will dedicate much time to it but I'll help in any way I can. Kudos for the idea though, I heart wiki

I'll use it, won't contribute much... but i'll try

First need to find out if people will truly contribute (PSers are generally lazy SOBs, all talk and no walk). The reason PS projects fail 99% of the time is because people default.

We need to get xz64 back. I think he was the one that edited most of the articles on the old Wiki.

I should probably add that I am all for a UPSB-hosted wiki project. I would feel much more secure with it being hosted here than another independent project. If one gets going, I will then work on it.

Yeah because we don't want another PSConclave happening... -

I'd definitely edit it if there was a PS wiki. Probably just grammar and spelling edits though, just like my edits on wikipedia.
-

I would contribute from time to time.
-

The wiki is up: http://wiki.upsb.info/
I expect 21 persons to contribute and 19 more to read it, according to this poll
