Welcome to Kyle's CIG2 Comssa Tutorial!

First of all. I want you all to know that this pen is derived from dkvn2006's mod
The only difference is that the pens needed to make this mod is alot more common than that of dkvn2006

Name of pen modification: CIG2 Comssa
    COG: COP
    Length: 20.1cm
    Weight: RSVP MX < CIG2 Comssa < Signo-tipped Comssa
    Style: Double-Capped unable to write

    Pens needed:

    -G2 Body [x2]
    -Dong-A Sign Pen Cap [x2]
    -HGG Tip [x2]
-Check Image Body[SHOWN] OR Bic Round Stic [x1]
    -Grips of your choice [OPTIONAL]

    TUTORIAL:

Step 1: Slide the Check Image body into the two G2 bodies [as shown in the picture provided]

Step 2: Bind tape in the shown section of both the G2 bodies

Step 3: Put the HGG tip into the Dong-A Sign Pen Cap as shown

NOTE: You will see a circular tube inside the Dong-A Sign Pen Cap. Be sure that the HGG tip goes into the tube

Step 4: Put the Dong-A Sign Pen Caps onto the end of the G2 bodies where tape was used

And what do you know, you're done!
    Now spin!

    COMPLETED MOD:

    With Check Image body:

    With Bic Round Stic body:

    FAQs:

Q: How do I substitute a Bic Round Stic body for the Check Image body?
A: Cut about 2.3 centimeters of the Bic Round Stic body and follow step 1

Q: How can I convert this mod into a Metallic CIG2 Comssa?
A: Screw on two extra HGG tips onto the caps as you would a regular Comssa mod

Q: Since the HGG tips are inside the cap, will this mod make a rattling sound when spun?
A: No, the idea of sticking the tip of the HGG tip into the circular tube inside the cap will silence the mod of any sounds

Q: Why are the HGG tips inside the cap?
A: Because to shorten the length of the mod as long mods prove to be unattractive to the consensus

Yea sorry about that. I did want to try that other mod, I'll definitely make this. And where's the pun?

Clean and simple. I would rather put the HGG tips on the nub instead of inside.

this pen is derived from dkvn2006's mod

shouldnt u be deriving other things like ur calc hw? laugh.gif

Anyways, Ive spun the mod myself and its decent. Its a simple double sided mod with pretty good momemtum. Good job on the tutorial. Clear directions thumb.gif

Just shove a bic inktube thingie in there. you'll need an insert though. Actually i dunno if it would still fit with the hgg tiip in the cap, i haven't tried it, but a whole bic inktube plus tip thing probably weighs more than a hgg tip anyway

BTW if you're going for weight signos fit in as well. Better retractable tips are better though becuase even though they weigh a little bit less the go in further so there's more momentum

I made this mod before this tutorial came out (original credit to luke for connector idea of bic stic grip), it's quite similar so i'll post here.. @CaliMartinio i was able to finish it earlier than i thought. Mind putting it in the first post so it's easier to see for people? This is too similar to warrant its own thread. I call mine the GB Vortex since it's basically a vortex style pen that uses G2 and Bic as the primary parts.

Should be the same length as the CIG2 comssa. Weight is similar as well but slightly less (don't have the grams exactly), since you have bic inktubes replacing hgg tips.

    Pens needed:

    2x Pilot G2
2x Bic Round Stic (2x ink, possibly 1x body if you want)
    2x Comssa Caps
    Profile/Anyball grips
(Optional, this is how I made mine) 1x Bic Round Stic Grip

    Other stuff needed:
    Wooden skewer
    Pliers
    Phillips Head Screwdriver (large)

    Not needed:
Tape or glue (the mod fits together well)

    Procedure:

    1. Take the 2 G2s and disassemble them. Take the back half of each pen and remove the clip and plastic ring attached to the clip.
    2. Poke out the retractable mechanism with the wooden skewer.
    3. Disassemble the 2 Bic Round Stics.
    4. Take either the grip segment of the Bic Round Stic Grip OR cut 2.3 cm of the Bic Round Stic barrel. Use the grip or segment of barrel, depending on which you want, and connect the two G2 barrels.

    5. I didn’t put an insert into mine, but if you want to do that, now is a good time.
    6. Push an inktube into each end of the pen. It might be hard to get the inktubes in by hand, so use pliers to pull them in all the way.
    7. Take a comssa cap and the Phillips head screwdriver. Turn the comssa cap upside down and find a hard surface (countertop should work fine).
    8. Place comssa cap on countertop, then place the screwdriver in the comssa cap.
    9. Raise comssa cap and screwdriver at same time and then hit against the hard surface. Some plastic chunks should fall out of the comssa cap. The comssa cap will look exactly the same from the outside, but the freeing up of some of the inside allows the cap to fit on the G2 back while the Bic inktube is inside.

    10. Repeat steps 7-8 with other comssa cap (if you do not do this, the caps will not fit with the Bic Round Stic inktubes on the pen).
    11. Put desired grips on comssa caps, and then place caps over Bic Round Stic inktubes on each side of the pen.
    12. You’re done, spin the pen! Of course you can add HGG tips if you’d like.

@Clam! very nice job! i like it.. i like the fact that you can write from both sides.. but i don't know about the momentum and the weight wise..

    Thanks!

The momentum is better than i would have thought, I think the inktubes help add a little weight to the end. Like i said if you make it and are unsatisfied with the momentum you can always just add hgg tips as you would to a normal Comssa.

Sorry but i'm really bad with weight and i don't want to say anything and be completely wrong :X Maybe i'll be able to mass it sometime but not in the near future. Unless someone makes it and can mass it.

yeah the writing from both sides is awesome for me (and two colors of ink is easy to do) a mod you can use in school (although it looks kind of strange biggrin.gif)!
