Name of Pen Modification: BG VBall Duo
    Center of Gravity: COP
Length in Centimeters: 22-23 cm depending on how much you file down
    Weight in relative terms: Unkown
    Style: Double sided

Estimated cost: $3.60 for a pack of 3 BG Vball as for the G-2, I had a spare so Idk the current price.

    You will need

2 PILOT BeGreen VBall 05 pens
1 G-2 grip (Or any other strong grip that will keep the pen together)
    1 Pencil
1 Saw (make sure its a small tooth saw)
    1 File
2 Pairs of pliers (one large pair and one needle nose)
    1 Glue/Clay/Tack/Playdough etc.

    Optional

Wooden Stick (to replace pencil, needs to be about the same size)
Nail clippers to remove excess off the clips

    Step One:

Remove Bottom caps from the bottom of both pens. Use your pliers for this as it is a bit hard to do with your fingers.

    Step Two:

Break and/or saw of a Piece of your pencil, and file it down to about 1/2 of a cm (or 6/10 of a cm)

    Step Three:

File down the butt ends of your pens to about 3/10s of a cm

    Step Four:

Remove your caps from both pens, and with the large pliers rip out the top of these caps (Be careful it will take a lot of force and you might pinch yourself [BADLY]) Now using your needle nose rip out the top part and spring. You are now ready to saw.

    Step five:

Using the small oblong holes on the sides as a guide to saw off about 1/2 a cm on the caps, file down the jagged edges and shove those caps we removed from the pens in step one. (This will keep your ink from drying out. It will add no significant weight).

But before you place those caps in, use your glue/wall tack/clay/play dough and shove it inside, this will keep the ink INSIDE the pen.

    Step Six:

Reattach your new clips yo their respective pens and place the pencil in one pen and the grip on the other pen, then attach it. (Feel free to add grips to the caps, you might have to strech them out a bit to fit but they WILL go on.

    DONE!

Enjoy your new BG Vball Duo.

(BTW - I've used the clips on my BICtory and if you attach them to the BIC caps it will stick, and adds quite a bit of weight)

hmm...interesting that you use a pencil to keep it together.....
it's wayyyy too long though, try and find a way to shorten it to like ~20 cm instead
and have you thought about breaking the clips and putting more grips on the end?? after shortening those caps of course... cuase they're huge =.='''

Problem is, is that the pens got quite a large ink capsule...that area is black because the ink is everywhere...If your willing to have a disfunctional pen you could just empty it out and saw off a bit of it...or...remove the clips and place new shorter clips...Unsure of what kind.

And I agree that the Clips are huge but I'm trying to figure how to remove them without a hacksaw because there seems to be removeable piece...and if I can get it off, Those caps MIGHT fit into the tops...

Should have posted in the show off your pens thread to see if people would actually be interested before making this tutorial. I see this mod as a personal one and nothing more. Not much potential either if it cant be shortened. Too long, looks ugly, double sided mod with caps with clips=bad. I could go on and on

I got the top off the main cap, only reducing it a bit, and more bad news there is a peice of plastic in the way drilling might be nessesary... I'll look into it further when I get home...

Thanks for the advice Pholord I'll be sure to do that next time.

    Okie-dokie...

I have done the following. Removed the tops off the caps, Taken out the plastic innards along with a spring (I wonder why there was one in there...) I sawed off about 1/2 cm and LUCKLY was able to place those lower tips that are removed in the first step. I Filed down the butt end about 1/2 cm, I cut and filed the pencil to only fit into the pen, and will show no excess.

And ... 23 cm ... Well its better ... and it looks preaty good.

Its still nice and sturdy ... I might be able to make a locking mechanism if I cut apropriatly Heres what it looks like currently:

looks great now. It might suit your needs (23 cm), but if you posted a tut i'm guessing you want others to follow suit to your idea, correct? Most spinners enjoy 22 cm at the longest (super pirat) and the 21 cm msxa is the longest most commonly used "long pen" in the states.
What i'm getting at is you should first post it in the show off your pens section and then read your feedback. if no one is intrested you don't have to go to the trouble of making a tutorial.

OKAY! Guide updated! Pics will come sooner or later ...

    EDIT:
OH NOES! There seems to be an ink problem... It seems that the removal of the tops of the caps keeps the ink from flowing, BUT luckily with some ingenuity if you place a little glue clay or even play dough you just have to wait till it drays a bit, shove the pen in and it will make an imprint and hold that ink in when you put the cap on.

(It was probably all that spinning I did that made the ink go flying.)

...ugly sry but sheesh....i havent gone on upsb for 1 week and within that time it seems that about 2 crappy (no offense) mods have been released... and 1 good mod

for example a couple weeks ago i saw a post called the "noob lakubo mod" which was a double capped mod IMO if i had a tutmod for every double capped crap mod that would be pointless and yet i see it all over this forum

this mod is what 22-23 cm (Which only GA and ZT type spinners use) and some other mod was 26 cm i mean at least the guy improved on his mod (26 cm one) and made it better but this mod is rather uneven and a g2 bulge in the middle if ur gonna put a grip in the middle at least make the body thicker or sumthing not a 3mm difference and put more heart into it... dry.gif

IMO people should make their mod look observer what the people want release a PIC NOT TUT then improve from advice show agian get at least a 4-5 people who are willing to make it and then Release it... not targeting anyone just trying to make a point for the 4th time

Acctually from the old look its much better, and g-2 grip is beyond required if there are more thinner grips feel free to suggest a few, and if your not to keen on the look I believe there are those things called outserts. I have no problem with critisim but critisism that leads to no help is not going to make MY mod to become a much better spinning pen.

The insperation for this pen was the fact that it is a fantastic writing pen, and I love the ink quality, and for the eco-freindly ite 81% recycled plastic. After a few weeks of consideration and work I came up with the 26 inch pen ... requiring very little work, but at the mention of specifications I had yet to learn of, I nearly dessimated the old pen and recreated it into a much better pen. I sure this has happened to many other members ... probobly a little less mature ... I simply seek an evolution of a pen I really like.

If you may not just care then I'm sorry you feel that way and I hope your opinion may change at a later time.

On a different note I am working on a mod that uses only one pen. Its basicly taking another cap and placing it on the other end but there is a slight wieght balance problem, and the pen is a bit small. But Like my preivious pen I'll be sure to work just as hard as I did as the last one.
