Which do you like better?

It seems there are two different categories of styles...I don't quite know how to explain it. For an example, Many people like Eriror's effortless style, as if the pen is just gliding through his hands. Then there's s777, he has a style that involves heavy finger movements, with his fingers curled and with very complex finger positions, it just doesn't look very "effortless". For me, I like s777's style better.

...There are a lot more styles than that. And also a lot more factors.
Just try to fit this in your categories http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Xz82kVRQnE
Ok, actually...don't try. -

I know there's more than just those 2 styles...I just don't know how else to categorize those specific 2.

Tw sonic spam. Just like pholord and eriror used to do in their newbie days.
And I like both styles. Bonkura did it best though. :] And for the really effortless spinning with little handmovement (like Skonix) doesnt look that nice imo. Something korean is always nice. -

i believe the general styles you're referring to are japanese and korean
i like both as long as it's good, but i personally prefer the eccentric stuff -

Eccentric stuff? I suppose the out of the ordinary things are always interesting. -

in my opinion everyone has their unique styles, however will fit into certain categories such as speed, slow, rough, smooth, little hand movement, extreme hand movement, etc. trying to categorize by nationality just doesn't.. seem correct.. everyone has a different style after all..

i like SEVEN's style. heavy movement. s777's style is good too, but i don't like the fact that he does some unnecassary finger movement some times.

eccentric regarding finger positions and movementsQUOTE (mhig @ Sep 13 2008, 07:48 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>in my opinion everyone has their unique styles, however will fit into certain categories such as speed, slow, rough, smooth, little hand movement, extreme hand movement, etc. trying to categorize by nationality just doesn't.. seem correct.. everyone has a different style after all..
i dont think anyone actually thinks that the styles refer to the spinner's nationality
i feel that i have a japanese style
eriror has a somewhat korean style (i think thats what he said, dont quote me)
they're just names for the styles, idk where they originated from, but there's no point in changing them imo -

eriror = Korean style???
really? i always thought that eriror had a whole style of his own. and not korean style. -

I don't think Eriror has Korean style, personally I just find it boring style because the perfection and minimal hand movement just seems to me like a lack of style...
WHAT'S GOIN ON? MORE PEOPLE LIKE MINIMAL HAND MOVEMENT THAN HEAVY?
VOTE HEAVY YOU FOOLS, THIS IS MADNESS! -

I agree. SEVEN's style, with all the controlled jerks and all the movements....it's just awesome. -

so i guess ur saying not being perfect is more interesting? w/e
and u only find eriror's style boring? not the others? interesting -

thats why i said somewhat, and don't quote me....
EVERYONE has a style of their own, that's the point
now if people are incredibly offended by being labeled then don't label them
however, i like to think my own style is japanese, and i'd be flattered if anyone agreed -

...i didn't say eriror style was boring because it was perfect...what i ment was that his style is so...plain. wereas (sp) people like s777, seven, or even sansaku have a more "showy" style. i don't like that fact that eriror's hand seems to barley move, and each combo (IMO) seems very similar. -

Yes Eriror's style is Korean, he even said it himself.
-

effortless
examples i think are effortless: RYO, Skonix, Saizen -

If Eriror's style is so boring, then why did so many people jack it at UCPSB?

This is a new era, people's opinions change too, not just the same.
