Off-topic / Girl advice.

So, there's a new girl in my grade this year. I find her unbelievably amazing in every way. She does everything in a way that I find awesome and cute at the same time.
I've had loads of crushes in previous years, but that was mainly because the chick was hot. But this time, even though she is hot, I just like her for her. The way she talks, the way she reads, and even the way she sleeps (yeah, she fell asleep in class once...and I watched her....I'm creepy.) is just awesomely amazing.
I want to become good friends with her. I see her every morning for about 15 minutes and every evening for 2 hours at tennis practice, I also cross paths with her in the hallways 2 times. So I can obviously talk to her, and I have twice, both times for about 5 minutes. I just want to know some ways I can be more friendly and what to talk about, and ultimately how to be good friends.

friends dont think like that. best way tp do this is to find out what she like what is her hobby. or try to get to her by her friends i dont know maybe you know someone thats her friend. it will b helpful cause this person can give you lots of information about her that can be good 4 u and arrange some meeting @ the same place where she will be so u will have more time to talk with her. and i u gonna have information that u need u can be prepare and talk with her on subject that she like. any way good luck hope that this will be helpful 4 you

compliments can be a good way to get her to notice you, you can give her some at tennis, but make sure that you don't give one after another after another after another or it will seem creepy. Eventually she will start to talk to you more normally, then just don't be overly nice and if you two are actually a good match you will become better friends. good luck

Ok. Thanks! Im actually sort of like an assistant coach tennis, so I can give her like compliments and tell her what she's doing wrong, and then help her fix it.

First of all, do you want to start a relationship with her, or just be good friends? 'Cause it can be reaaally stressing if you end up as friends, but you want more, possibly putting your friendship in danger (awkward situations!!!)
But really, just start talking to her, I'm assuming you're still in school, so that's a good topic right there. You said you both play tennis, that's great! Usually girls are more interested in guys with the same interests (for me it is, lol). Try to find out what she does in her free-time, had a good weekend, stuff like that Just keep the conversations light and when you feel like she's showing interest (asking you questions back and stuff, but watch out, because maybe she's just being polite) ask her if she wants to hang out sometime, with the rest of your friends, that way you'll reduce the risk of awkward silences. You could ofcourse ask her to the movies and stuff, but she might feel intimitaded, being alone with you in a dark movie theater...
Do not, I repeat, not be too nice to her! Girls usually don't like it when men, well go overboard on the compliments and roses (chocolates? ya plz, they're yummy! ;D) If you're too nice she'll think of you as a regular nice guy and just want to be regular friends with you, which you don't want, RIGHT?
Oh, and usually us girls know when someone's interested in us and we do certain things to check if he's still interested, some even do that when they're not even interested in the guy
. Please don't be turned off by that, we don't know why we do that either, haha. -

Introduce yourself- That way, you can conversate w/ her. Obviously. Since you have a class with her, just be all "You're new huh? Im [name] just thought i'd help you make new friends by coming up to you." If she is new, then most likely she doesnt have much friends at the school. If you just go up to her and introduce, you'll show you got balls.
Thats a good start yo. and she will talk to you. When you two get a little more comfortable, talk about tennis, school, etc. If she got a myspace, add it. Or facebook. Say hi to her when she passes by, and eventually she will say hi first.
If you wanna get a better approach, do this. Trust me, it works. lmaoo.
Firstly, get a dollar bill and write your name and number on it. Make it noticable.
Now when you two are just kickin it or w/e. Just be casual. When either of you have to leave, go up to her, give her the dollar and say "Ohh I think you dropped this". And just walk away. She will call. Shows interest.
Then just plan kick it days. Movies would prolly be the first thing that comes up, buhh I suggest you dont. A lot can happen so fast in a theatre. Seriously. If you both play tennis, plan going to In Shape or a local court and play. Just dont let her win. That's helluh typical.
Dont act too nice. I seriously dont understand why guys compliment her 24/7. Treat her like every person. Make fun of her and say just kidding. Be sarcastic, etc. Learn to balance the compliments and the little jokes.
When she introduces you to her friends, talk to them. Treat them w/ respect, etc. Cause her friends WILL give an opinion of you.
Basically, just be chill. You'll know wuhh to do when something comes up. -

Umm...I play #1 doubles on Varsity and she plays like #3 doubles alternate on JV so there's a huge skill difference. I might ask her to play sometime or if she wants a private lesson or something. I have a Babolat Pure Drive Team Plus.
I friended her on facebook and we exchanged 5 or 6 wall posts. We're both from England so thats cool. Her last name is "Goodenough" so I joked around with her about it. And thats about it so far.
I think its going pretty good. I'm think i'm gonna ask her to come to the movies with my group of friends in a couple of weeks. -

I absolutely hate that, and if you get into the position where she starts thinking of you as like a brother or whatever, you are gone with no chance. But when you like someone somethings its hard to slow things down and not talk to her as much. So dont get trapped. -

Ok, so today I think I made a HUGE amount of progress.
At tennis practice, she asked me to be her partner for a drill. Out of all her girl friends, she asked meeeee. It felt good. Then I gave her an hour long private lesson, in which we goofed around together and talked. Then she touched my arm. While she was talking she put her hand on my arm for like 10 seconds. I'm not sure what it meant, but it felt good.
So, tomorrow, I'm gonna try and get her number maybe. I think if I just carry on this way for another month, then I can ask her out. -

make sure the stories are interesting
make sure the stories always have a meaning, and make sure they are TRUE and not awkward or out of her comfort zone
and don't talk to much, don't make her feel like she can't get a word in.

I know a way of finding out, a way...so dangerous...so risky....but if pulled off correctly, can become the answer to all of your questions.
Here's what you should do (dot dot dot)
Aim: To find out if crush has a boyfriend.
Equipment needed: 2x Sandwich
5x Movie Tickets
1x Pack of Bubblegum
1x Full Roll of Aluminum foil (HAS to be full)
10x PaperClips
1x Someone in high place who can hire a hitman for you (if you are under 18, of course [note, laws regarding this may be different in your country, please follow the laws of your own country])
1x Girl you have crush on
1x Yourself (because you will be needed for this)
1x Pair of Scissors
Method: 1. Use the Stanley Knife to cut the coke bottle in half.
2. Attach one side of the coke bottle onto the other, you should now have a full coke bottle (use glue if needed).
3. Use the paper and pen to write a note, reading something along the lines of "Do You Have A Boyfriend?".
4. Roll the note up and place it inside the coke bottle, make sure you empty the coke out first.
5. StickTape some Aluminum foil around the outside of the bottle, this will reflect of some of the sun's rays and should keep the message colder.
6. Ask if anyone wants some coke. If she says yes, give the bottle to her. If she says no, throw it at her.

Soooooo, I did it!

Im just so unbeleivably hapy right now. I cnant even type because me fingers are shaking because i'm so excited.
So that was basically the highlight of the day. She also hugged me when I left.

Well you can pretty much choose anything but keep your hands of romance. Just so wrong for a 1st movie. Don't take her to stuff like Kung-Fu Panda, and a little tip aside, avoid all Dreamworks movies, except for Shrek, they suck.
I would probably go for "Don't mess with Zohan", you could take her to "The Dark Knight" but I think Zohan is the safer choice. Make sure she hasn't seen it with her friends.
Alternatively let her choose but you have to phrase the question good, don't let it look like you didn't even try to come up with a movie to watch so you're bouncing that decision off to her.
If she's anything like the girls I talk to, she'll just be happy to do something with you if she likes you.
While I'm at movies, if you choose Zohan and everything goes well, The Dark Knight will be fully re-released into theaters in January of 2009 for a second push just before award season. You can take her to see that then. -

She actually pays sometimes, which makes me feel terrible. And steakhouses aren't that expensive. Like Longhorn and Outback are like 30-40 bucks. -

Even though we do spend most weekends together, I only get to see her from 3 pm - 9 pm on weekdays.
For the most part, we do have seperate opinions I guess. But obviously not seperate on everything. We do have a lot of the same interests though....

Yeah I really agree with you. I see couples go through all the so called phases of a relationship in less than two months, and then they move on with someone else a few weeks later.
what's blown up even more than sex is love. I don't believe that people in high school, and even college (and middle school jeez) really truly know the meaning of being in love. They don't have enough experience, enough understanding of reality to truly believe they're in love with someone, whatever love is. That emotion is so over-exploited and overused and thrown about so easily in our society it loses meaning (and definitely no one can define it)

Date: Mon, Apr 27 2009 05:31:14ok SJ. i want to help out. this is what happened with me. i was in the same situation as you are. i followed these guidelines and now i am with the girl, going steady almost half-a-year. remember these are guidelines that can be fitted to different people. just be smart and use your head
one. first encounters are always important. so make her seem important. ask her a question or ask her to explain something to you that has to do with your class. pay attention to her and look in her eyes. and dont be fake about it either. wait till a problem comes up that you arent so sure about, and utilize that to approach her during or after class. if she doesnt get it either, it is a bonus it gives you an oppurtunity to work together, if only briefly, on something. good first encounter=good foundation for getting to know her.
two. once the ice is broken you can go to her to talk and such. talk with her friends and identify your commonalities. keep things mellow and say hi everytime you see her.
three. after you feel comfortable with small talk and pleasantries, start finding out more about her past and what she really thinks, also shaare what you have to say. during this time talk with her friends and find out from them what she is like.
four. invite her to events or to go to the movies with a group of people. you dont have to be close when this happens, but alway ALWAYS check to see if she is having fun. if she's bored that's really bad. invite her and one or two of her friends to keep things going. in my experience i learned that the girl:guy ratio works best at 3:2.
five. if the previous guidelines worked over well then you probably have a good grasp on what you should do next. but in the end your goal is your goal. whether it's to get together, or just be good friends. these things take time and dont be too hasty. it takes at least a month.
