-
Date: Tue, Sep 16 2008 18:12:24
I just thought about this, its called penspinning because you spin pen, but at
-Aeriel you throw the Pen
-Stalls you just balance / kep the pen somewhere
-Invisible-Sonic you hold the pen
Now Comments / yes no and your oppinion -

These are just ideals developed from the manipulations.
They are lots of other manipulations that uses aerials too. -

wtf Lasse are you kidding me?
Those are the best things in penspinning. -
Date: Wed, Sep 17 2008 05:06:38
yes i know, i like Aerials very much , but i just thought about the pen doesnt really "spin"
-
Date: Wed, Sep 17 2008 08:22:34
yeh um if u look closely i don't think any aerials have the pen not spinning.
i find people who use the face when there wrong makes them look like douchebags.
i can answer your other complaints with another question, its called shop lifting but you dont lift shops -

u cant really take the word penspinning literally, cuz then some things dont make sense.
if you put a pen in a wheel, are you doing pen spinning?? -

Thats a really good question kind alike "If a tree falls and theres no one around does it still make a noise?" -

apple, that has nothing to do with anything
zombo said that even though it's called "pen spinning", you can't take it literally -

Aerial actually HAS a spin in it, but though you are right, it's just throwing it....but if u throw it in a correct way, you can see the pen spin...
So I think aerial IS pen spinning
Stall - I don't think it's really a pen spinning trick, even though u need practice, so yeah....i don't think it's pen spinning.
I-sonic - it has a spin but just a stall in the middle to give people the "WHERES THE PEN?!" emotion in their heads....but comparing it to a regular sonic, it's till a sonic. so I think it's pen spinning.
But like what zombo said....."pen spinning" don't take it literally
There are tricks with no spin, and tricks with some.
thats what I think...=) -

Well, first of all you shouldn't take penspinning as only spinning, stopping a pen and spinning again is just a break, just like when a drummer stops and does a charge before starting again. And if we really wanted to take penspinning as penspinning we would have to spin what people call pens (going back to one of the usual questions) for non-spinners we don't spin pens, we spin weird sticks that can't write so the KT and all would stop being penspinning etc...
Now you can not like those tricks and not do them, you shouldn't say it's pen spinning so only spin spin spin like Zombo said I guess... I for one like Stalls because it lets me be a bit more creative. ^^ it's all for fun anyways. -

THREAD REVIVAL!!!! I just had to post XD
What Zombo said...
I don't know what else to say, this is more or less a spam post devoid of content, I guess a mod could delete this I just had some urge to post in a revived topic and now it is filled -

as I think pen spinning is not what are you doing but its name of all what are you doing with pen, so stals and aerials is pen spinning too
-
Date: Sat, Jan 31 2009 12:12:59
yes. i aerials can still be part of penspinning but stalls and i sonics doesnt perform any spinning at all. Maybe aerials still is related to penspinning because the pen is spinning in air ..lol

IMO aerials, stalls are Pen Spinning. For Example football. It's football, but in this sport we use head and chest too. Aerials, stalls are a part of pen spinning.

Pen spinning is a form of contact juggling, so stalls and aerials are definitely part of it.

-

i think aerial is just throwing pen. and it will look the same when it's in the air. so maybe we should be creative to make it different then people's aerial???

My point of view: It doesn't matter if it's pen spinning or not. It's still awesome.

First of all, I was under the impression that nobody did the i-sonic since bojo, but I guess that's neither here nor there.
The point is, Pen Spinning is the name of an art form, not a literal description of an activity. Even stalls, in which no spinning is involved, it's still called PS, as it's part of what PSers identify as their artform. -
Date: Tue, May 26 2009 12:39:30
They are not spinning literally, but they are still tricks...
-
Date: Thu, May 28 2009 02:12:25
Aerials, Stalls, and I-Sonics are tricks that enhance the style of Pen Spinning.

show off a stall to someone is awesome? without any combo or anything come with?
-
Date: Tue, Jun 2 2009 11:49:19
if you're doing the stall that requires you being double-jointed, then yea.

i see those types of tricks as still a part of the general intent and concept of penspinning, manipulating a writing-instrument or mod in and around one's hand(s). Also, saying such tricks aren't a part of PSing is like saying that, if whilst jumping rope, one swings the rope at their side with both hands, and then continues jumping, they were not jumping rope for that brief time, they were swinging rope; technically this is true, but practically it is an unnecessary notion.

So triple axels are no longer ice-skating - fascinating.

Yes, people really shouldn't take the word literally since it's not really accurate.
It's more of a "the art of pen manipulation" (Not sure if this was said in the thread but who cares).
But no one would say "The art of pen manipulation" since it's too long so I guess we call it pen spinning since 90% or more of the time, the pen is being spun.
