Date: Tue, Oct 2 2007 18:33:28
During the nearly 2 years that I've been in this community, I learned a lot of things.
I learned:
-how to control my fingers better through analysis
-critically think and solve problems
-how to do rudimentary logistics
-how to talk in a radio show (it's harder than you think)
-about other programs like Litestep
-not to trust others in trading as much
-that trust is a very powerful commodity
-that taking care of my skin is important
-how to network with people of the same interest
-how to edit videos
-the inner workings of most pens
-to always question my assumptions
-how to handle sensitive issues
-that not all teens are bad
-that not all teens are good
I'll update these as I come up with more things.
How about you? -

-> How to think better(Don't know why, but I can think better when I am spinning a pen)
-> Learn to relax and calm down when something bad is happening(cos I will normally take out my pen to spin if something happen) -

I just wanted to find out how pen spinning has benefited us in our lives. For instance, I couldn't catch or throw stuff accurately before but after i started practicing aerial tricks, my both catching and throwing improved. If you have anything please share!

Lol, because of PS I *never* don't have a pen when I need one lol. But also I recognize it's a bad habit in formal situations, I unconsciously spin when I shouldn't (Interviews, etc)
Also, this belongs in General Discussion -

I would say that penspinning has overall helped my handwriting especially cursive. LOL I don't really know why?
-
Date: Wed, Jan 20 2010 02:04:02
psing I think helps you develop a new perspective on pens, and new perspectives are always good .
Ummm other than that psing has helped me spin pens better =] lol.
It gives you something different umm maybe an edge? makes people think you know what you're doing ( depends on the circumstance) yeh, gives you another layer to your character =]
Plus you get addicted... = \ -

i think because of penspinning i have a higher endurance.
my "will" to do (learn) something got stronger.
and in a way, my self-respect got stronger -

PSing utility... hm...
It definitely is a method of sanity in long classes, if you don't drop it/draw too much attention to yourself. A lot of people sketch to pass time but I can't draw so that gets boring fast.. also there are two different modes of spinning in class for me, sometimes when I actually need to learn something (rarely ) I will just do some simple tricks, like sonic or TS harmonic or a simple mini-combo. I consider it the equivalent of chewing gum, which actually boosts concentration by providing an outlet for fidgeting type urges. But if I'm in a class where I don't need to pay attention and it's boring PSing is VERY helpful
Not to mention it's super fun... and addicting! I start flipping (no pun intended) out when I lose my pen, I look like a heroin addict or Bilbo when he loses the ring -

I think my reflexes have improved because of pen spinning
-
Date: Sun, Jan 24 2010 05:07:15
i think what improved in me most is my flexibility with my fingers (though not all of it), especially with my right hand.
people here in school don't make a big deal of PSing anymore (what can you do when your school only has 1 "official" PSer?), but some also tried doing the fundies. -
Date: Tue, Jan 26 2010 04:50:33
After learning the twisted cobra bite, every time something slips out of my hand, i can catch. Thanks to that, I didn't break mp4 a lot of times.
Plus now, when I have nothing to do and I'm too lazy to think, I can pen spin! -
Date: Tue, Jan 26 2010 07:09:52
I noticed my relexes are like ninja like!
And i can catch stuff randomly really well . . . -
Date: Tue, Jan 26 2010 19:15:26
Improved my finger dexterity I guess?
Never looked at PS as something "useful", it's simply something fun to do~ -

UPSB has really helped me expend my general knowledge. During GP lessons, I find myself bringing in stuff discussed here and the debates going on go very deep already so I'm already prepared with rebuttals and refutations.
