GREAT IDEA

So we have fundamental and advanced trick sections right? Well for each trick in each section there is an explaination, however, sometimes it is hard to figure something out by just reading an explaination. I think that underneath each explaination there should be a small maybe 20 sec vid clip showing what the trick is supposed to look like. It would allow some people to see what the trick being discussed looks like and also serve as a tutoring aid.

just an idea, not neccessary but i think it would be cool.

That's what the wiki is for, I agree that there isn't enough information on every trick but I reccomend google you can find many resources on it =].

Usually the threads don't start out with an explanation. They usually start out with a question and people will post tutorials and clips if they feel like doing so. We can't enforce this. There are also threads where you can request to see these clips done.

if you go to the wiki, there are videos
if you go here, there are tutorials

I think the threads are meant for clarification purposes, not as a starting point. The Wiki should be the first option for newcomers and the forum second.

wiki is actually pretty hard to see when you first come here. i didn't realize their was a wiki till my 2-3 week on. Any way to make the wiki more obvious?

the UPSB wiki is well listed in google for basic tricks... if you want to make it more obvious for newcomers, i refer back to the "Welcome PM" thread.

you know what we should do? we should forget about fundementals forum and make a whole new forum called 'New Tricks' where people post up a new trick thats been discovered.

Don't believe this is such a good idea.... when was the last time you actually have seen a new trick that wasnt a hybrid?? a LONG time..
never mind actually haveing enough of them to specifiy the need for a dedicated forum.

when was the last time fundamentals were created? we have a whole forum on fundamental which is only 4 tricks + 4 variation. and to be honest.. UPSB now is not like upsb in old days. Fundamentals aren't that hard to learn. and we have eso's tutorial. At least new trick forum will give the chance of creating new trick and it'll encourge people to post it there. Sure, the forum will be practically dead. But it'll contribute more than fundamental forum IMO>

I guess what he means is, for the ones that Eburt creates. All the trick threads. The starting part of Eso's new tutorials can be used as the clip for the threads.

This is a universal board so I think there should be an option to change which language to have the board in. I do in fact see the thing at the bottom which clearly says english, but there are no other language choices. Just a suggestion to accomodate everybody to the board.

too much of a hassle, besides. people from other language boards (e.g: kpsa, jep, etc etc w/e) have these tutorials on how to post on upsb. (so do we, sorta)
