Yeah, I was thinking about this as I was leaving school today. I solved the rubiks cube in front of a lot of juniors and freshman, and they wanted me to teach them. I started to teach a certain few ps, but a lot more want to learn. So, Im thinking about making a Manipulations Club. Now I know just rubiks cube, and penspinning aren't enough, those are the only two I know a lot about... So I would like to know if there is anything else I will need, except members, and a whole lot of pens. (Rubik's Cube, I will try to share with them...I want to focus on PS first, cuz I can make tons of bictories)

a friend of mine revived the chess club this and turned it into a nerd club (although it's still chess club by name, and i guess our main focus is still chess)
we do anything nerdy - chess, rubik's, pen spinning, magic the gathering, various manipulations. -

heh, i came up with idea a while ago too. My problem is that i probably couldnt find a teacher to sponsor the club. Also, theres probably not a huge manipulation crowd at my school And our chess club is really into chess. I should know, i'm in it. http://ghs.gilbert.k12.az.us/clubs/chess/history.html
lol chess. -

Manipulation club sounds kind of bad because when most people hear "manipulation" they think of manipulating people before thinking about manipulatin poker chips, zippos, pens, yoyos etc. Trogz' idea of calling it the "skillz club" sounds a little better i think....but if your teachers are fine with you calling the 'manipulation club' then go right ahead.

well judging by the fact that we have sponsers for an anime club, DDR club, tricycle club, and an anti-club club, i think a skillz club would fit right in.

We have a nerdclub at my school, though we don't do anything really. I just got to know a guy one year my senior who can also solve rubik's cube though, and who is now learning to penspin. We know a lot of people who want to learn rubik's, so we've ordered a bunch of DIYs and are gonna teach 6-7 of them how to solve it :) Oh, so we've started a Rubik's Club.
EDIT: We'll also do some penspinning in the Rubik's Club, it's just more focused on speedcubing. -

Uh Idunno man... if you don't mind people thinking you're a major nerd or geek I guess you could go for it. lol
I was about to since my teacher/classmates suggested it... but my friends told me that if I were to do that, everybody would know that I'm a nerd... lol. Personally, I don't look/act like a nerd much and my schoool hates smart asses so yeah... I dunno I guess you could try for fun? -

Sweet idea, I would really want to join one.
The problem is, I'm the only one in my school that can do all these object manipulations, and it does get lonely
