-
Date: Sun, Oct 19 2008 18:07:16
Hi I'm trying to make the Comssa Mod, but I don't have any Dong-A computer sign pens.
What is another replacement for those pens? (pens that doesnt need to be bought online) -
Date: Sun, Oct 19 2008 18:13:10
Well you can always trade for Bellcolors.
Those are an excellent sub. -
Date: Sun, Oct 19 2008 18:18:09
They sell a sub for cartoon comssas at Daiso.
-
Date: Sun, Oct 19 2008 18:20:22
What if he doesn't live by Daiso?
-

Then he can't get cartoon comssa subs from Daiso.
.... Obviously. -

I too would like to know a good replacement for the dong-a computer sign pen.
-
Date: Sun, Oct 19 2008 20:48:28
Just order from Penwish...It's only $1.40 for a double capped one.
But if you really can't, just use a black Pentel S360 Color Pen. It has the exact same body texture as a real comssa, but the caps are a lot different.

From the way I see it, there are NO subs for Dong-A Sign Pens otherwise w/e your sub is, it would be a completely different pen
-
Date: Mon, Oct 20 2008 00:44:02
Monami 153's
&
I'm wrong?
But G2's and Rsvps can also be used to subbed, Never hurd of bics being used as a sub, maybe if you wrapped alot of tape arround the barrel... -
Date: Mon, Oct 20 2008 00:51:59
@dust_kid. Wow...what you just said basically meant that there are no subs for the Dong-A Computer Sign Pen. There is no such thing as a sub that is 100% similar to the original pen, hence the word "substitute" Subs are supposed to be different to the actual pen in some way
@shoeman. No you arent wrong I'm just exxagerating dust_kid's comment on how subs aren't supposed to be EXACTLY the same as the real pen -
Date: Mon, Oct 20 2008 02:09:05
Tombows ABTs? They sell them at art stores. Like...Pearl. In other words... just make a tombow mod.
-

No way? When I went to Daiso there was no cartoon comssa sub?
Picture? I saw a marker with a colored transparent comssa like cap (has that stub) but i dont think it couldve been a sub.... -

Date: Mon, Oct 20 2008 03:59:04

-

No, that's not what I meant. A sub has to be close/exactly the same. Bellcolours are a suitable sub because it is almost exactly the same. Round Stic is not similar enough to be called a sub.
And wasn't there already a thread for Dong-A Computer Sign Pens? -

There's Penwish...And relating back to your question about substitutes, if you can get a hold of Rushon's, those are also substitutes. -

Oh, in that case, you should check out any Asian accessory/stationery stores in you area. They'll bound to have something worth modding... -

It depends on where you live...A really widespread franchise of such stores is called Daiso. If you live near Santana Row, there's a store called Maido that carries a huge variety of Japanese pens. Just take a look around your area.QUOTE (loonwern93 @ Oct 19 2008, 11:33 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>what i can say here is the dong-a aqua sign pen XD.
but obviously if u cant get dong-a computer sign pen, u cant get the aqua sign pen .
and yes, monami audena have similar thickness with comssa i think, just check them out at penwish.
Is the Monami Audena even sold on Penwish?
Oh, he wants subs that he can get IN A STORE, not online. -
Date: Tue, Oct 21 2008 05:23:15

i saw a monami signpen in morning glory at the same time i saw a dong-a signpen
the monami one is skinnier and the cap is a bit different
you could use it as a comssa mod sub (ie. double cap the whole thing), but you wont be able to ues it for msxa's etc. -
Date: Tue, Jun 2 2009 14:25:23
can supertip be subbed?
-
Date: Tue, Jun 2 2009 14:36:36
Supertip body is too thick, look at how BusterCYL is modded.
You'll get a long 'Comssa' Mod.
No other barrel is as smooth as the original Comssa itself. -

Are there any subs in america?
-
Date: Sun, Dec 6 2009 21:18:58
There are some of those random marker pens. I think HGG tips fit in them. Sign pens are really cheap on JetPens.com. There only like $6 for 12
