    Hello people

i have some qns regarding the objectives of pen modding. i know you want to extend the length and increase the weight and balance of the pen, but are there some preferred dimensions? I was hoping that you guys can tell me your own personal preferred pen attributes like the weight, length and pen diameter.

a side qn, what is the point of adding extra tips to the ends of the pens?

    My Preferences:

    length: around 18cm - 21cm
weight: really depends on weight distribution, Ill spin comssas, mx's, and Dr.Kt's
diameter: about 1cm (width of rsvp barrel)
material: soft plastic like a comssa

and metal tips are used to add weight and momentum

    My preferences:

    Long: maybe 20cm...
    Heavy: 13-15 g
    I love double capped mods..."well-gripped".

    My prefrences:

Barrel size: round, pencil size to Keityo barrel size
Weight: MX to Dr. KT weight
Length (I have very small hands): 17 - 21 cm

I like double capped for practicing and sometimes in videos, but in public, I like single capped so I don't have to explain all about how we "mod" pens. tongue.gif

I prefer a balanced (CoP = CoG) pen around 20cm with moderate momentum. I do prefer the feel of a comssa body over an rsvp body and my only preference for body diameter is that it's not too narrow.

Weight: I don't have an exact preference, but generally light like a Ballsign
    Length: 17-21 cm
    Diameter: BICtory to RSVP MX-ish

    I prefer a balanced (CoP = CoG)

...and am better off with double sided pens rather than single sided. I have to no problems spinning them in public. tongue.gif

    Retractable, one sided pen.
    Length: 15-20 cm Baby hands smile.gif <3
Weight: MX - ...badminton racket. Seriously, I like heavy pens.
Barrel size & material: BIC - RSVP, hard plastic. As long as it doesn't shatter confusedsmilie.gif
Grips: Profile/Anyball. xD My favourite now. So cool feeling smile.gif

for me, modding a pen is about weight distribution. a cheap biro is short, very light and often has an ink tube which rattles. a KT is kinda the epitome of pen modding in that it is stable (nothing rattles/moves), long enough to do any tricks (i find shadows impossible on really short pens) but most importanty has all the weight (and with a kt that's a lot of weight) at the ends of the pen. it's not that the KT is heavy that it has so much momentum, it's that the weight is at the ends with a very light tube in between.
other important things when i mod pens are grips (for infinities) and looks happy.gif

i'm not saying that a dr. kt is "the best mod" but it is the mod which has been taken the furthest down the road of modding. it could be argued that it has been taken too far and that, especially since it doesn't write, it's not a pen but a baton but i think that if you were going to make a spinning utensil from scratch without making it out of pens you would end up making something very like a KT (but maybe not so sharp)

    also, my KT writes happy.gif

haha thanks for all the replies. i personally think that grips are ugly *UGH*

and i agree with what u said exactly. i was thinking of making a spinning baton xD out of scratch and see if its any good.

I prefer retractable, one sided pens
    Length: 19-22cm
Weight: I like em decently heavy, around rsvp mx weight
Barrel size & material: really really thin, thats why I like lakubos. I actually prefer to mod with lakubos
    grips: hgg, thin sticky grips.

very few pens fit this, so I make my own.

    so in essence
we could just say that mx is perfect lol
i like mxs for longer combos
    but bictoriesfor shadows and such

    Length: 18-24 cm

    Weight: Light or Medium

    Balance: CoG = CoP

    Barrel Size: 1 - 1.5 cm diameter

    Material: Plastic

I like to have weight on both ends, heavier than the barrel of the pen.

I also like to place a small, maybe 3 or 4 cm long grip, in the center of the pen.
Something rubber that is thin and adds very little diameter.
I suppose it helps with gripping the pen while spinning, and also sort of helps the pen stay when it is spinning fast.

    length: 18-21 cm
weight: anything from a ballsign to a MX
i mainly prefer double capped mods like metallic comssas.

Nice job reviving a thread that's over a week old.
