The next NYC gathering is going to take place during the upcoming winter. Those who want to come should post here and tell us so that we know who to expect and look forward to meeting. I would suggest that you keep up with this thread every now and then for any updates on when and where the gathering will take place, in case any changes are made.
If you are coming:
-Find a means of transportation.
-Bring money for food, buying pens from other spinners, and anything else you may like to purchase during the gathering.
-Keep track of your belongings; nobody else is responsible for your stuff if you happen to lose them.
-Bring your pens/mods to sell, trade, and spin.
-If you want, bring a camera to take pictures and videos with.
-The gathering video editor could either be Xero again, or someone else may volunteer to do so... but i'm pretty sure Xero'll want to do it anyway--if not, we're open to video editing volunteers.

The schedule for this gathering will most likely end up being the same as the last one.

-Kinokuniya (a Japanese import store with quite a bit of Japanese pens)
-Place to eat
-Go home
The whole gathering will probably last around ~5 hours.
Post here if you think you can come, and we'll discuss the issue of the day and time in this thread as well.

where do you live in CT? cause if you live at the very southern part of it... you could just take a train which would probably cost you around $10? or get someone to drive you if it's not too far away
but if you live like even in middle of CT, yeah, NYC's gonna be too far for you =\ unless your'e willing to spend a lot on train tickets... ask your parents if they can drive you, if not, sorry then...
EDIT: i just looked up east haven... it's not thatt bad i suppose distance-wise... but it's still quite a distance =\ train tickets'll probably cost around $15-$20 one way... dunno if you wanna spend that much -.-''
and it'll probably be around a 3-4 hour drive...

Yeah, I can just take the Metro-North Train to NYC, but which station do you want me to get off at? Cost won't be a price. Now that I think about it..I don't think that transportation will be a problem I just need to get all the times right.
However, how can I explain to my parents that I will be going on a train to NYC by myself for a whole day?

Me and Dima are good friends, and we have been talking about me coming over to NY for the gathering, I live about 462 miles away, and I am willing to spen alot of money to get out there, 7hrs 44min drive, my brother-in-law spins also, and he's 22 so he can drive us, If I get the OK from my parents, then I will see you guys in Jan. ^^

still it's kinda preferably around like december 27th for me because i'll already be visiting Long Island for winter break.
so basically anytime is good for me...just it's going to cost a lot of money to get there

Well, I've had smaller gatherings with just dimachka, huroni, ello, etc... before, but those were arranged just over msn whereas this gathering is being arranged on UPSB and an announcement is made about it
So I guess this is just more official as opposed to all the smaller unofficial ones that I've had with people...
but just think of it as a way to attract more people into coming

I'm planning on being in the city on January 10th for an ImprovEverywhere stunt (No Pants Subway ride).
So it would awesome if we could plan the gathering for the 10th as well, that way I don't have to pay the 17$ train ticket twice
The ImprovEverywhere team is still figuring out a time, but the date is pretty much set in stone. I would guess that it would be done by 1 or 2pm. -

If you read back a few posts, you'll see that the current status is that it's going to be held on Saturday, January 10th, probably at around 1 PM
as for where it'll be held, most likely the same as last time... right outside manhattan mall (which is right by penn station)
i'll get the actual address sometime closer to the date, but that's where it stands as of right now
if you wanna buy pens from people, usually outlander, dimachka, and skeleton brings a lot so you could either PM them and work something out now.. or jsut buy from them that day--everyone else will probably bring some of their own mods too, but off of the top of my head, i remember those 3 brought a lot

okay... so I've talked to dimachka and due to his work being on saturday.... we were thinking about changing it to sunday, in which case, maybe mhig can come too...
the date was set to saturday, january 10th because outlander has his event that he has to go to... and so to set it to sunday would mean that he needs to come to NYC again and pay his ~$30 train fare again...
so what i was thinking was that, since i feel bad that he has to pay it twice..., we could all chip in a few bucks to pay off some of his train fare -- dima's offered to buy outlander's meal or something... so hopefully we'll save outlander some cash that way...
how's everyone else with this date? i hope i didn't mess up anybody else's schedule by switching it to sunday... >.< but it's winter break right now.. so it should be alright... but just repost here to let me know that you can still make it if you were already coming

Tomorrow, there is a high chance of a snow storm, but even so, since it is this late into the stage already, I'm not going to bother to reschedule. Along with several other reasons. If you take a train to Penn Station, as most of you probably will, the meeting place, 33rd St. and 7th Ave. is only about a block away from it. The time we'll all start meeting at is still the same, 11 AM. For everyone else who can't make it that early, just find us later on. Hopefully we'll get as many people to show up as possible, but do not stress over this gathering. If your parents are worried about you and are concerned with your safety, it may be best for you to not go.
