    as title said..

Tools may be seem more 'pro' than normal penspinning itself... but is it part of penspinning? bonkura did penspinning with strings... personally i dont find that appealing.. i prefer his smoothness spinning vids >__>

Also.. i also somehow dislike how the pen leaves the hand and moves to other parts like... elbow... >___> it looks.... weird >__>||

    discuss below =P

I think that as long as the focus is on the pen, it doesn't really matter if you use elbows instead of hands.

    yeah.

As long as the pen is spinning i think its fine. It allows for more creativity.

Spinning with hand is probably the most common and easiest.

Pen Spin with your feet. It's like speed cubing, but with ur feet. Now that's pro.

I think its fine if only done on occasion, when performed nicely it can break up a "normal" penspinning video and make it really stand out. I just think you need to master spinning with your hand before you can try stuff like that, otherwise its to gimmicky.

    of course,

one aspect of PSing research I'm most excited about explores this dimension of PS.

    consider this:

origins of PSing started with only 2-3 fingers. Then it took all 5 fingers. Then it involved the back of the hand. And then the palm. And then the whole arm.

Then 2 hands... knee, feet, and even mouth.

    what's next?

The whole body of course! Chest, back, neck, head, etc.

    But even more!

Beyond your body, you can use the walls, table, etc!

I really would suggest that you watch a juggling video of Victor Kee in Cirque du Soleil. Now everyone knows what normal juggling is like, throwing stuff up in the air using only one's hands. However, if you watch this routine, although he is still doing what everyone would call juggling, he is making use of his entire body, from his feet, to his back, to his neck. I'm sure that a similar style of routine could be done using a pen, rather than the pen being manipulated by the hand, the entire body doing it too, with the focus no longer being on one particular part but the entire body as a whole. I think a pen spinning routine of this nature would:

    a) have more appeal to the general public

cool.gif be interesting to the pen spinner too

    c) make you stand out from the crowd

    d) be very difficult dry.gif

And tools? I guess you mean the outside environment. Pentrixter did some nice tricks that involved using 'tools', for instance a table. I think this too could be explored (should be explored and isn't being enough).

i think that because a pen seems scaled down from a baton( sorry guys, thats almost what we are doing but better^^) that it shouldn't involve full body

I think it would be difficult to use other objects to spin, Like a table or something. I mean it sounds weird.

    @Zombo: you forgot Eso's eyestab

anyways... I feel that pen spinning can expand a lot... even like 2 people 1 pen stuff... the problem is setting up a camera angle.

well....if it involves something other than the hands, if the pen is still spinning then yeah it's still pen spinning. happy.gif

It is psing as long as the pen is spinning in any direction, but i think spinning with tools or elsewhere will look weird and u can't do that in class...lol

pen spinning is about creativity. Being creative is what makes ps so nice. The tools are just a form of style in spinning the pen. It gives the spinning more uniqueness. It's not bad at all to use "tools" in spinning as long as the pen is spinning. minche.png
