this is a mod i made

    CODE

    1337MX STATS:
    COG:center
    length:21.7cm
    weight:unknown
    style:2 sided
    writing:non-writable
    cost: about about $10-$11

    Materials/pens:

    (2) pilot G2
    (2) profiles
    (2) 0.5 foray precision points
    (1) pentel RSVP

    Spoiler:
step 1:take apart each pen, from the G2 keep the grip parts, from the forays keep the steel barrel pieces, from the profiles keep the grips, and from the RSVP keep the grip

step 2: connect one of the profile grips to the end of one of the foray's steel barrel, do the same with the other barrel and grip, connect the G2 screw in part to the profile grip, same with the other one, next connect the two sides together with the RSVP grip, now this is optional but what i did is put a pencil(cut with saw to shorten) and shred of paper inside the barrel to put more weight and to stop it from bending.....

now you should have a pretty awesome pen mod in my opinion

most pen spinners prefer more non-grip section on a pen than that...

That's a lot of grips you're putting on the mod...How does it spin?

  4. TRoc
    Date: Fri, Oct 31 2008 04:56:56

There's no space to spin, I'm guessing it's very difficult.

this is a mod i made and i am the inventor of this mod so no one other than me should take credit

i don't think anyone would want to take credit for this...
it looks like you just connected a whole bunch of extra parts and added grips :\

Sorry but this is just freaking ugly
Has alot of grips and there isn't much room to spin.

if i could give advice i would say that you should remove the rsvp and profile grips, then it would be better

    F41L MX Vortex?
much to much work for something that A: doesnt look very good and B: probably doesnt spin that well, A gripped up pencil would be a better choice, nice effort I guess =]

No offense no one i know would spin, take credit, or make this mod... get rid of the grips and have pics to go w/ the tut and get more stats more importantly the weight

paper doesn't do much for weight unless u roll it up alot and make it dense

    oh...my...god.

like, honestly, being as honest as i can be, that is the worst mod ive ever seen in my life. out of 4 years of spinning, numerous newcomers and goers, 3 boards and tons of activity on 2 of them, that does not only look bad, but you just threw "MX" in the name, even though it has nothing to do with a mx and added "1337" suggesting that its somehow matched or better than the MX, extremely heavy, waaay too many pens, and no spin room on the pen. how are you supposed to do any spin tricks? the texture differs between all those grips, it would just feel wierd.

not to mention it doesnt write. so its just a really ugly stick.

I'm sorry...but this mod is really bad.
But keep trying, now you know that this isn't a good idea and you can only build off of that.

yah... people on UPSB are hater prone ^ _ ^

umm, ways to improve it would be
getting rid of the gripped body, develop some better way to hold the pen together and making it writeable. honestly the pen wouldnt be useful in any way if it isnt writeable because its not the great in any other aspects...

    +1 DarkInertia, yet again.

And dude, we know you're tryinging, and I think iMatt mentioned this already, but post an image in the show off your pens thread first, and if people want a tutorial, then make one. Otherwise keep it a personal mod.

good luck on creating a new mod.
    my advice is.
try looking around how the others make mods.
pro pen modders like K4S and some other good modders.
take a look at modding concepts and how it goes about.
    dun just start modding.
    1st u will waste time.
    2nd waste money.
its not easy coming up with a new mod.
dun let your effort go down the drain.
    mod smartly(:

    RMB.
    show off your pens 1st(:

    goodluck once again(:

Lol, the same sort of thing happened to me when I made a mod and it got flamed, to be honest I felt like shit. So take it with a grain of salt, remember its easier to be a jerk on the internet. Anyways, what I'm trying to say is don't worry about it, just keep trying to mod and come up with something else aswell.

u basically did what most recent penspinners do when they first joined UPSB (this includes me)..
my advice? go spin a BICtory for another 1-2 months and wander around UPSB then mod again...
