Would you Pen Spin against poverty? As pen spinners we get looked down in society as 'wasting our time pen spinning', as many of you would have experienced some point in your life. What if we could change this attitude? What if we could be massively influential? What if ...
Most of you would probably be asking right now, how is Pen Spinning going to stop poverty? Very good question. Awareness. Awareness that we are all so well off we can spin pens as a leisure activity. But most of us in this global world of ours don't get the opportunity to go to school and learn how to read and write. Most of us don't have the time to think about spinning a pen because their tummies are screaming for food.
So next time you pick up that pen, be thankful and Pen Spin for Poverty! That is all I have to say.

Why dont we just make a limited number of signed custom pens, get sponsorship(s) from pen companies, sell the pens to spinners around the world. Then donate it to a charity.
Oh and if you'd like I'll help organize it... know what that sounds like a great idea. I'm gonna steal my own idea and use it! muwahahaha! -

It's not a bad idea. I like it.
If you need some help in organizing (I'm pretty sure of you will need) add me at MSN, ICQ or just write me here in the forum.

Yeah, if this gets big and organized pen spinning will get A LOT bigger and the awareness of poverty will increase too.
Do it do it do it! -

LOL. No offense, but man this idea blows on so many levels past Pants-on-head-flailing-idiot-in-street-retarded.
Pen-spinning is a time-waster lol. Why do you think we took it up in the first place? For something to do when we are in class/bored/non-active situations. It is a useless talent. It's just highly entertaining.
The whole custom SELL thing for charity money is rather obnoxious as well. What do the pen companies out of it? Next to nothing. In that case, not happening -

Well, they would get the attention because it does give them a great PR.

Good luck with ur long-term goal. Theres nothing wrong about penspinning against poverty. Since pen spinning is now considered a form of art and sport, like OTHER art and sport, penspinning should be aloud to spin against poverty...

This year I've co-founded a social justice group at my school. I've also started a pen spinning club. I'm thinking of doing a collab which will spread awareness of poverty and at the same time wowing people with the skills we have. It'd be something different. What do u guys think? Would you Pen Spin against Poverty? (If so Vote in this thread if you haven't already)

Aren't we supposed to be Pen Spinning against poverty? If we were for it, we would be advocating and promoting it.

My bad. Yea I'm uber newbie. When I did my speech to the school for my social justice group, I managed to say we are a new social "injustice" group.

This would be a good idea, but nothing would come out.
To have it actually effect poverty, you would have to charge people to watch the video? I know I wouldn't pay money to watch a video that deals with pen spinning and poverty... -

So many people have ideas, but most of them just get blown off by UPSB. I don't know if some people just don't like new stuff, or if you don't like that fact that it's not your idea, or you just don't like the fact that someone that's 'noob' comes up with the idea, but meh. Whatever.

how much money have you spent on pens? why didn't you donate that money to good causes?!
how much time have you spent on PSing? why haven't you spent that time on helping less fortunate?!
and for that custom pen - you would only make companies richer, and who would buy those pens?! only PSers, and things like that are sold everywhere, everytime (not pens, but stamps, postcards, tickets...) -

There are a lot of things you can do against poverty. Penspinning isn't one of them.
