Tutorials Pending Approval / Any-X Custom
Uses less pens than original Any-X

Note:
1) I created this mod under the name FurBelz~ and have changed my name since.
2) I created this mod long long time ago, when I was still new to penspinning, therefore many unnecessary steps are in it and I'm currently too busy to remake the whole mod.
3) I'll remake this tutorial when I have time.
---
Credits:
- Mainly goes to Zaazu for making Any-X
Weight:
- BICtory with Profile Grips < Any-X Custom < Signo Tipped BICtory with Profile Grips
Length:
- 19CM
Style:
- Single Sided, Retractable
Pros:
- Uses way less pens than original Any-X
- Easier to make?
- Pretty good to spin with in my own opinion.
- Efficient uses of both Anyballs/Profiles
- Cheap! LOL
Cons:
-Easy to shatter? This only applies to using tape.. if you use hotglue then its safe =]
- Too many plastic cutting, and it has to be accurate.
- Slightly time consuming.. (For someone that knows every step it takes about 15min-30min)
Q&A:
1) The ink tip is too tiny when I click on the pen.. How can I fix this?
- This means your 'paper tube' is too short.. Either make another one, or use a toothpick to extend the ink tube length
2) I can't make the writing tip 'click out'.. Seems like something is blocking it.
- This means your 'paper tube' is too long.. Shorten it down!
3) Feels like I don't need any force to make it retracting?
- Thats because either you are using 1 spring, which can be solved by adding another spring.
- Or, you need to crimp/tape closer towards the writing tip
4) You so copied zaazu.. I hate you!
- Go on and hate me.. I've given main credits to him.. My idea came from his Any-X.. But hell I don't have all the stuff I needed for his Any-X
5) Any hints to make the paper tube?
- Roll 1/5 of the paper using the 2nd ink tube
- Unroll it
- Now fold a very very tiny space and push it downwards and forward
- Test if it is small enough so that the ink couldn't go through
6) Hint on uncrimping the ink tube.
- When you uncrimp it, focus on the ink tube around it. If u see some parts turning white then stop, otherwise there is a chance of bursting. Just do it slowly =]
- If you really failed and the ink tube is permanently damaged.. Do not fear, as there is the 2nd ink tube =P
7) Reason for a 'new stop' on ink tube.
- To use double spring... Thats it.. At first I thought its needed but as V2D tried.. its not necessary
== Newly Added FAQs to cover my unnecessary mistakes==
8) Can I use toothpick other than paper roll or other stuff IDK..?
- Yeah.. as said by 2DK Iceguize
9) Is it really needed to uncrimp the ink tube and do what you say?
- No. I tried making this mod without uncrimping the inktube and it does still work fine. -

Wow..just wow..
All you need is 2 profiles..and it uses 99% of both pens..this is a sweet and very easy mod to make in my opinion..profiles are cheap anyway so if it shatters it wouldn't matter, just buy more
Well done -

wow cool mod . Uses a very little amount of pens and a lot cheaper than the orignal Any-X. Very good usage of the 2 profiles.

I made this when I had no HGG tips (aka did not know about Penwish), a long time ago. Nice tutorial, I don't think it was worth a tutorial though.

...
I may buy profiles and make this.
The college bookstore where my sister bought her books for college sells these kinds of profiles in 4 packs of colored pens -

I like the look the plastic tips gives the pen. Why is the "paper tube" needed though?

Cool, a decent mod using 2 pens. I'm definetely gonna try making one of these. The uncrimping part might be hard.

To extend the ink tube for the back retractor which originally uses RSVP ink tube (way longer)..
to make this a 2 pen mod... the paper tube is needed.
This is why the ink tube should not be able to push thru the paper tube.. otherwise the paper tube will be just useless
Hint: to roll the paper tube small enough.. follow these steps
1) roll 1/5 of the paper using the 2nd ink tube
2) unroll it
3) now fold a very very tiny space and push it downwards and forward
4) test if it is small enough so that the ink couldnt go thruQUOTE (Kurteous! @ Nov 3 2008, 07:28 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Cool, a decent mod using 2 pens. I'm definetely gonna try making one of these. The uncrimping part might be hard.
Uncrimping is very easy... just use needle head pliers and press the 'popped up' parts back to the tube.. just dont put too much force to it or the ink tube might burst
Hint: when you uncrimp it.. focus on the ink tube around it.. if u see some parts turning white.. stop.. otherwise there is a chance of bursting.. just do it slowly =]

Both hints added to first post for fast referencing and to provide better support for new modders =] -

You could just use a piece of the other inktube? You'd have to empty it out a bit first though. And I think most spinners have extra RSVP/similar inktubes lying around, so that probably won't be a problem anyway. I hadn't understood the inktube wasn't supposed to push through the paper-tube, but I just skimmed through your tutorial really fast.
Also, you can just "crimp" (?) a new section on the inktube by using small needle-nose pliers instead of taping. -

wat do u cut to 4.2cm? the paper tube?

Yes but if you use double spring... crimping might not be as effective as taping.
Also.. this is purely aimed at using 2 Profiles only.. thats why using RSVP inktube is out of question. (I mean i have one extra as well.. but nah =])QUOTE (xJoeNx @ Nov 4 2008, 09:42 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>wat do u cut to 4.2cm? the paper tube?
Yep... so that one side measures up to 4.2cm (i strongly recommend you cut it into 4.4cm and trial and error it... just incase anything happens)QUOTE (V2D @ Nov 4 2008, 01:48 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I don't have a RSVP anyway cool tut FurBelz~
And so, this answers Sfsr's question of using RSVP ink tube =]
thx V2D

I didnt use any glue for the tutorial just because... I dont have.. HAHA

you could use a skewer instead of the paper roll tho, people dont always have skewers. A tooth pick should also work.

Possibly but i dont like the look of toothpick as an extension =P
but personal views... some might like it and therefore can use it
just that when i build mine.. i didnt have any around me -

im fine with the pens i have right now -

Thanks fur-belz,
I made this suprisingly easily.
