Wow. What a stick- no the almost ultimate stick.
-
Date: Tue, Nov 11 2008 01:58:18
The tutorial on FPSB is pretty self-explanitory. I dont really think a video tutorial was that necessary :/
-
Date: Tue, Nov 11 2008 01:59:54
When I tried to mod with my supertip, the back plug would not come off and yours came off so easily. I ended up damaging the barrel.
-
Date: Tue, Nov 11 2008 02:01:11
yeah that's exactly what happened to me when i made the ST, i absolutely couldnt get the backplug out, it ended up breaking
-
Date: Tue, Nov 11 2008 02:06:16
I had to freaking use a drill to get the backcap out. Howd you do it so easily?
-

spinnerpeem asked me to make a tutorial on upsb
his is how i make tutorials...QUOTE (PenCell @ Nov 10 2008, 09:06 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I had to freaking use a drill to get the backcap out. Howd you do it so easily?
lol same way i did it in the video...just grab it with piers tightly and pull it out -
Date: Tue, Nov 11 2008 02:47:25
awesome tutorial, I really like them
simple and easy to do, i'll make when I get the parts -
Date: Tue, Nov 11 2008 03:09:42
Ahah, nice tutorial
One question, how much do airfits cost? and where do they sell them? xD -

i can get them at my school.
but i dont think anywhere else...try to search for them in college book stores if u have any around ur place.
they are about 4.50 -
Date: Tue, Nov 11 2008 03:48:26
Finally the tutorial's out!
-
Date: Tue, Nov 11 2008 03:54:48
the best way to get the supertip backplug out is to take a large screw and screw it inside the backplug tightly, then grab the other end of the screw and pull! comes right out and then just screw off the back cap and ur done works every time for me
-
Date: Tue, Nov 11 2008 20:49:45
seems airfits are pretty heavy. do they make good dr grip subs for bonkura kt?
-
Date: Wed, Nov 12 2008 02:03:42
Hm i used a new supertip and this time the tip came out super easy.
-
Date: Wed, Nov 12 2008 23:18:26
Thanks TEK, also the Airfits can be found on JetPens. (Thank god.) I was gonna make the tutorial! D:
-
Date: Fri, Nov 14 2008 08:04:17
Errr...I made mine before this tutorial, and I cut my finger trying to use a knife to get the back plug of the super tip out. After that, I learned my lesson.
Tek's method is pretty safe, but if you want to keep the back plug intact (you never know if you'll use it for another mod), this is what I do now:
First, wrap some sticky tak around the back plug. I just make a long string with sticky tak, then stretch it as I go around the back plug a few times.
Then, when you have enough sticky tak, use a plier to pinch it and pull it out. The sticky tak adds friction and protects the back plug. -

Is the Airfit an american pen, like i could find it at staples, wal-mart or any other store like that?
-
Date: Sat, Nov 15 2008 17:27:19
No, I told you that in the Shoutbox.
-
Date: Sat, Nov 15 2008 18:21:28
You can find it in some book stores though, both iMatt and I have been able to find it.
-
Date: Sat, Nov 15 2008 18:37:29
They're from Zebra Japan if I'm not mistaken. If you find it in US, it's probably imported? I wouldn't count on finding them in mass retail stores though.
-
Date: Sat, Nov 15 2008 18:39:47
Yea it was a Franklin Covey store so idk? That's a chain but not like Wal-Mart. Not sure where iMatt was able to find them.
-
Date: Sat, Nov 15 2008 19:08:30
So basically what I need is :
2 airfits
1 supertip
1 double capped comssa? -
Date: Sat, Nov 15 2008 19:25:09
Yes.

It's can hold on body Crayola .
I think this mod so easy for hard trick.

I don't think it matters...You can use either one. They are ALMOST EXACTLY the same. I have both and they both work. If anything, I would say the pen version is slightly heavier...just by a bit. The MP version one you have to remove a little thing inside the tip, so it's a bit lighter, but it's hardly noticeable.QUOTE (Take-a-chill-pill @ Nov 18 2008, 12:42 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Is the Supertip compulsory, i mean like, do you have to have it or will it make the pen unbalanced
If you use other bodies like a comssa or miffy&melanie body, the pen will be shorter. It won't really affect balance, but we all know shorter = less momentum. It's up to you though. -

a lot of people have asked me about the grips and rings I use for my Buster Cyl. I didn't think it needed much explanation, but apparently it does require some.
So here's a very short and simple summary
Spoiler:
They are blue profile grips and airfit metal rings, so it's not hard or expensive to make.
They fit like thisCODE<|####[|)cap-body-cap(|]###|>
< = airfit metal tip
| = 1 profile ring (from center of the grip)
# = airfit grip
[ = airfit metal ring (the opening should face the profile ring)
|) = 1.5 profile rings from edges (big ring from one side, 1.5 ring from the other side)
Now, if that's not clear...too bad...maybe you want to stick with the original version -
Date: Fri, Nov 21 2008 19:29:57
Lol.. 1.5 profile rings?

Date: Tue, Nov 25 2008 23:38:41QUOTE (Jiinn @ Nov 22 2008, 04:24 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Is it heavier with the rings and extra grips?
It is heavier, but doesn't necessarily add momentum to it, since you're moving the grip closer to the center of the body. -
Date: Tue, Nov 25 2008 23:40:23QUOTE (Kam @ Nov 25 2008, 06:38 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>It is heavier, but doesn't necessarily add momentum to it, since you're moving the grip closer to the center of the body.
how long are the tips of the airfit pens -
Date: Tue, Nov 25 2008 23:55:34QUOTE (daffy @ Nov 25 2008, 02:43 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>can the airfits be subbed?
Yes...Zebra Airfit, Papermate Aspire, Pilot Nextage
are all Dr. GRIP knock offs...(though dr grips are made by pilot also, they're offspring)
You can use a Japanese Dr. Grip to make this pen if you want....amreican dr grips wouldn't work so well because the rubber grip is less narrow than the japanese one and wouldnt stay on the comssa....
This mod is pretty much a comssa Kt with a less slippery body. -
Date: Thu, Nov 27 2008 23:14:01
Is there a link to the tutorial from FPSB?
Do the tips just stay on by the Airfit grips holding them in place?
I made one and enjoy it. (Assuming I did it right. ) It's a bit heavier than I expected, but it's pretty fun to use. -

the airfit grip is pretty tight so it basically holds any tip
try using a lighter tip if u feel its too heavy -

And I dunno if my grip is shorter or something, but even after adding the metal rings and the anyball grips my grip is still pretty much at the end of the comssa cap O.o

oh...the comssa caps don't really fit on the body? lol because it's too thick...lmao I got pissed at the backplug coming off whenever I take the cap off so I superglued it(but I taped the backplug first so it fits inside the supertip). -

I've found how to solve this problem:QUOTEYouTube uses your computer IP address to determine your physical location / country. In order to bypass these country-specific restrictions on YouTube, try this trick:
If the URL of the YouTube video is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEwD36Dk1jw - just replace the /watch?v= part with /v so your new URL becomes http://www.youtube.com/v/yEwD36Dk1jw

There aren't many subs for the ComSSa caps unfortunately.
The closest things are Bellcolors, but those are very hard to find outside of Europe. :/ -

If it's similar enough in length, width, thickness, etc. and the caps can fit on it, sure. It's your mod after all.
But if you have one, you can just use a ComSSa body. -

Here you go:
-remove the tips from both airfits.
-remove the grip from one of the airfits.
-remove the cap from the super tip.
-remove the super tip backplug (this is difficult, you will at least need pliers)
-Take the inktube out of the super tip
-wrap tape around the thin part of the dong-a back plug, you will need enough to make the back plug fit snugly into the back of the super tip
-insert the dong-a back plug into the back of the super tip
-wrap tape on the exposed part of the dong-a back plug. This is to make the dong-a cap fit more snuggly.
-Put a dong-a cap on the backplug
-put a dong-a cap on the front of the super tip
-if you think you need it, you can wrap tape around the super tip to make the second dong-a cap fit better
-cut the airfit grip in half
-put one half of the grip on one of the dong-a caps, and one on the other.
-stick one tip into each section of grip -

Howd you do it so easily?
To get the backplug out, get some scissors. Now follow the steps:
1. Put scissors between the barrel and the backplug opening
2. Put enough pressure SO THAT IT GOES INTO THE PLUG BUT DOES NOT DAMAGE IT
3. Pull the plug up so that it comes out
4. Voila
If you do this correctly, the backplug should not have been damaged -

3. Acetone (may ruin the body a bit though...)

i just spun the writing on my buster off.
like two weeks of spinning and the writing was completely gone. -
Date: Mon, Mar 23 2009 11:44:22
This is the ULTIMATE marker mod according to me
-
Date: Mon, Mar 23 2009 20:10:00
ok...here's the thing...supertip markers don't have a consistent writing on their bodies. Some are easier to remove, while others are harder. So while I don't doubt some people can just spin off the writing, that may not work for every supertip (at least not perfectly).
The main problem is because the body is embossed (carved in) a bit, which makes corners of the letters hard to reach via eraser.
So, if you really want to get the body clean, it's not gonna be easy, but here's how I do it:
1. Use an eraser to clean off as much as you can.
2. For the parts that are sticking out, use a blade/pen knife to flatten it out. Don't shave too much though. You don't want to ruin the body, just make it even.
3. Erase again.
4. For any left overs (usually the corner of letters that the eraser can't get to), use the tip of a pen knife to scrape the ink. You are not trying to cut off the body...just scrape the ink enough so you can blow or wash it off.
Alternatively, the easier way to accomplish this is to
1. wrap a white outsert
