Welcome to Loanshark's Sailor Mod tutorial!

Note: this mod was designed for me and other spinners with large hands.

I am not responsible for any damages to you while modding tongue.gif

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Stats

COG = about 2 cm backheavy

    Length = 23 cm

Weight = Dr. Kt > Loanshark's Sailor Mod > Ayatori Mod (getting exact weight soon)

    Style = Single sided, writable

    Cost = About $8 USD

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Pens

1 HGG (only tip is shown)

    1 Signo

    1 Bic Round Stic

    2 Bic Round Stic Grips

    3 Sailor Gels

    1 Anyball Grip (not shown)

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Tools

    Teflon Tape

    Masking or Scotch Tape

    Pliers

    Metal Skewer

    Tweezers

X-acto knife, hacksaw, utility knife, etc. (anything you use to cut barrels)

Hot glue or super glue *OPTIONAL*
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Spoiler:
    1. Take Bic Round Stic, remove cap, ink, and backplug. Keep barrel.

    2. Take both Bic Round Stic Grips, remove caps, inktubes, grips, and (grip holder?). Keep an inktube, both grips, and both grip holders.

    3. Cut the bulge on both grip holders from the Bic Round Stic Grips. TRY TO CUT OF AS LITTLE AS THE NON-BULGE PART AS POSSIBLE! A good length of the gripholders after the cut should be 3.5 cm.

    4. Wrap a THIN layer of tape around the grip holders. The amount of tape varies with each person and this may be adjusted later confusedsmilie.gif No pic since this step varies.

    5. Take the Bic Round Stic Grip grips, slide them into both grip holders.

    6. Take 1 grip holder with the grip, wrap some teflon tape at the end and screw your signo tip on it. Wrap some more teflon tape around the signo tip, and screw the HGG tip onto it. You may also use hot glue or super glue for the HGG tip.

    7. Take the other grip holder with the grip, and make sure that the ending of the grip holder is flush to the ending of the grip. Attatch both of them to the Bic Round Stic barrel.

    8. Remove grips from sailor gels. Place 2 grips on front and 1 in the back. Apply tape in order to thicken barrel and keep sailor grips snug.

    9. OPTIONAL / Take your anyball grip, cut about 5 or 6 cells, and stuff them all the way back in your sailor cap.

    10. Put the sailor cap on and you're done! biggrin.gif!

    11. To make writable, just stick Bic inkube down the back through the grip holder.

    Troubleshooting

    Q. The sailor cap flies of when I spin it sad.gif How do I fix it?
    A. Wrap more tape under the sailor grip.

    Q. What is the anyball grip used for?
    A. I used it to fill in the empty space in the sailor cap.

    Q. Can I remove the clip from the sailor cap?
    A. Sure, but it messes up the COG and the clip evens out the colors imo.

    Q. Why is this mod so long?
    A. I have large hands.

    Q. Why does this mod use so many sailors?
    A. It uses the same amount of sailors as a KT...and its the only "expensive" pen used in this mod...

It seems kinda unnecessary to have that much grip in front. Doesn't the Bic body make it feel kinda thin with that much weight?

    Not really...

I found that the 13cm long spinning area looked kinda long and akward, so I just added another grip biggrin.gif

    Good tutorial, Loanshark!

The sailor cap's clip can be removed too if you want. tongue.gif
Just twist it to break the glue seal and it should come right off.

I think u shouldn't use the bictoy barrel it's make the mod look...ugly with that too big cap.

I agree with those who said change the BIC barrel. Thin barrels are ok for light mods, but when you start dropping near-Kt weight on there, it's gonna slip off your fingers really easily. If you want to keep it's length, you could vortex-style two M&M bodies or something huh(1).gif:

The mod is good, but the Sailor cap looks plain out awkward *turtle's*

No offense, but the compirat is very appetizing at this length XD

Thanks for using the guidelines btw thumb.gif
