We decided to celebrate hoiboy's birthday today.
Technically, he turns 14 in 3 more days, but oh well.
We (aZnspNNer94, hoiboy, and I) decided to celebrate by having a little gathering. We played Halo I, went to the newly opened Daiso, and just spun and modded(I injured myself badly while cutting Sailor grips). We took videos and compiled them into the video below.
And somewhere in the middle, we explain why hoiboy chose "Yogurt Revolution" as the team name so yeah, that's why it's posted here.
But if you don't want to watch the whole thing, the reason why is because hoiboy loves the yogurt from a store called "Yogurtland" too much, so he called this team "Yogurt Revolution" The picture of the store is in the video preview. -

lol luckily i traded sailors before the daiso opened.. But i think getting the colour pencils from Daiso is kinda expensive. I just get the caps and get the pencils somewhere else.
How do you tell the difference between normal sailors and icy sailors?
They have silicon gels at Daiso too.
And about that video.. was that deja vu at around 10 minutes? lol..
Anyway, great job guys. Awesome gathering, great spinning, checking out the daiso, modding, yogurt stuff, and happy birthday hoiboy! And have fun at Daiso.. I bet you're gonna go there often. -

Coincidentally, Ratatouille is Fall's favorite movie also.
I think Ratatouille might have influenced Fall to create Yogurt Revolution. It's also supposed to be the exact opposite of Genesis, so instead of an invite-only team, we have an everyone-is-welcome team. -

OK i've been thinking of this.
Why don't we have our own trick battle within our collab? This thread can be used for it.
How to play:
first, someone posts a video of them doing a trick onto this thread. they can either choose to battle a specific person or the whole team.
If they battle a specific person, the person challenged will have to post a video of themselves doing the trick. If they battle the whole team, anyone can try and post a video of themselves doing the trick. We'll go 2 at a time. 1 game for specific people and 1 game against the rest of the team so we don't have to keep waiting if someone becomes inactive. Once any of the games are done, someone can start another.
A combo can be used instead of a trick. In this case, a breakdown is needed.

FAQ:
Q: what happens if i'm being challenged but I don't want to accept?
A: Reply to the person and then it'll be open to all
Q: What if i'm not being challenged but I want to do his trick?
A: Request for the challenger to change to you and if he agrees and if the one being challenged agress then you can take his place.
Q: What if the person being challenged becomes inactive?
A: Individual challenges not responed to after 4 days will be open to the rest of team.
Q: Is 2p2h/1p2h allowed?
A: If its an individual battle, you can only challenge someone who you think can spin with both hands or an ambidexterous one. If it's against the team, it doesn't matter.
Q: What if I can't do the trick?
A: decline the challenge.
Q:But what if everyone pretends not to be able to do the trick and keeps declining?
A: what fun would this game be?
Q: I'm noob. What if some pro guy chooses to challenge me with a super hard combo in which half the tricks I can't do?
A: Decline and open challenge to team. If no one in the team can do it then we skip his combo and a new round starts with a different person starting a new combo.
(Pros, please refrain from doing this.)
Q: Do we have to copy the person's style?
A: as much as possible. If you can't, just do the tricks in the breakdonw in your own style.

A: Now actually. Someone can start posting a video and challenging another person already.

First of all, you should not resign because everyone passes a "beginner" stage and I've beliee your on the verge of passing it. In a few months if you become better, you will regret resigning as captain. Dont do so unless you have a really strong reason and not spinning good is not a good reason.
Second, if you still want to resign, do it yourself rather than keeping nominations. The voters would look for people who are more popular and spin better rather than their other attitudes. Just personally think about who you want to appoint as Co-Leader. But I still dont think you should resign.
Remember: You will become better eventually so patience is better. Not all team leaders are good at spinning. You made a team with good intentions so keep them and dont lose your status. If being active is your problem, that's just stupid.

1. I created the team so that everyone could feel welcome here.

i see.... well.. the new leader will have to agree with #1 eh? as well as #2 (yes it is a legitimate answer) and for #3... isn't the leader supposed to set the standard for everyone? the leader is supposed to have that kind of pressure as when setting a good standard for his teammates. his actions represent the standard a leader should be setting. just know that. when you become a leader it isn't just leading some team but a lot more responsibility than you would think. i'm not trying to say i would make a great leader either, as you can see ECS is crap right now lol but yea... just remember that being a leader takes a lot so... if you really don't think you can manage.. then.. learn from others who make good leaders and then come back when you feel comfortable ^^

I think that having a team where everyone is welcome is a great idea, as no other teams on UPSB are as open as this team. In addition, as a newcomer to UPSB, I feel that everyone is subject to some "discrimination"(right word?) I'm talking about the fact that once you hit that "Create my Account" button during registration, you're a member. But once you start posting questions, talking in the shoutbox, getting yourself "noticed", people look down on you. At least that's my experience. It just seems that a lot of people on UPSB have a negative attitude(not everyone, but quite a few) I came very close to leaving UPSB forever once because of this. Thus, with a team as open, as supportive as this one, we can make everyone feel welcome, regardless of who they are, where they come from, or what they believe in. It's kind of having a "free country" within UPSB.

I agree with you. People look at you normally when you register but when you get more noticed (popular) people start to strike arguments against you and mock you and stuff.
And no, "Discrimination" is the wrong word. "Discrimination" means to differentiate between stuff. -

Fall and Outsmash have stated the positive aspects of having a separate team for the better spinners.
However, I would like to point out some disadvantages that should be considered beforehand. First, Team Yogurt Revolution is supposed to be an open team. If you created the Elite Revolution or whatever its name is going to be, the newer spinners on Yogurt Revolution are going to feel compelled to join the Elite Revolution and they are going to feel inferior to those spinners on the Elite Revolution. Subsequently, this will lead them to feel bad and make them think they "suck" because several members on Yogurt Revolution will be/are on Elite Revolution. This can probably be compared to if someone started a team for beginning pen spinners and invited all of Genesis's members to join.
The point of Yogurt Revolution is to make everyone feel welcome regardless of skill level (Remember what we discussed when we created this team, Fall ).
So yeah, please consider this before creating the team.

I think we should keep the idea.
Yes, this team is supposed to be an "open for all team" w/o making anyone feel inferior but generally in everything there has to be an amount of certain people who are better than the others and the "others" know it.
We all do know Eriror and Vic and Seven are better than us, we just have to deal with it. Same way, how Eriror and Chau Tran talk yo us with a "free" attitude and not that of a superiority, even we should be able do that.
We will allow them to come to the team.. We will talk to them as though we were all one.
An advantage is also that the new team will motivate others to become better and reach that level just how we want to become better and reach the level of being a pro and participating in WT, etc. -

If I were to post that huge paragraph I posted back there in Board Comments, within minutes, we would have 10 people reading it and at least 5-6 users posting flammatory responses. It just bothers me that certain individuals can't "accept" the fact that there is a line between a "positive" attitude and a "negative" attitude. Kam has also pointed this out in SOYP, that people are rudely criticizing other people's mods or even flaming them without even bothering to think twice about how negative their comments are.
I will share my personal experience here as an example.
I will admit that, yes, I have lurked around UPSB for five months(when I became better at serious pen spinning)
During that time, I saw many things, such as the highly anticipated release of Kam's Impact MX, results of WC '08, etc. I saw the threads that moderators had put up to prevent unnecessary threads. As a result, I was more familiar with UPSB than most newcomers to this board. When I saw newcomers putting up redundant/unnecessary threads, I felt that I should help them by pointing them to the right thread and such. However, I never knew that several individuals were so against me doing this. They called me a "moderator-wannabe" and said I was "unnecessarily spamming threads" when all I was doing was posting useful links and/or useful information. No where, did I ever say that "You broke this rule so I am going to report you". No, all I ever did was tell the newcomer(s) that they should post in a certain threads in a neutral manner without being blunt with them. One day, a certain user(won't name names) created a thread in the Spammer's Bin about me, saying that I should be a "fake-moderator" That day, was the day that changed everything. From that day on, even today, I'm hesitant to do anything about it. Yes, I requested the thread to be closed, and it is. However, it bothers me that that individual(along with his friends) doesn't like me providing helpful/useful information to newcomers who don't have any idea of where they should post, etc.
On the topic of negative criticism, I've seen those tutorials for those beginner pen mods. However, it really bothers me how people just randomly post, and say really harsh things, such as "That's the worst pen mod ever" or "That's crap" or even "You suck". The problem with that is that they never had a chance to tell the pen mod creator to say what was wrong with it. Personally, what I do, is that I state my criticisms in an extremely neutral manner, always pointing out the good things with the bad things, like "Your pen mod looks extremely good for spinning and has decent weight and length, but the thing I would suggest is that you replace the insert, because it is taking away from the pen's overall aesthetic appeal." In that sense, I have not said anything offensive. I have merely stated a criticism in a nicer way. By contrast, some users would say, "Your insert sucks, get a better one." See the difference? I clearly recalled Fall starting a similar discussion about negative attitudes versus positive attitudes. It was a catastrophic failure. Everything that could go wrong, went wrong. Worst thing? Moderators failed to read it and comment.
I think that you, as a reader of my long rant, think I'm really weird and have wasted 20 minutes of my life typing this. But I hope, by me sharing my personal story, and you reading it, that you will gain something from this.

It was an extremely hard decision for Fall and I to pick between 5-7 individuals who are all exceptionally good candidates for the Co-Leader position. In fact, Fall and I actually discussed this in person(yes, PM's/Email/Instant Messaging sometimes just won't do.)
However, we have decided that Glamouraz is the best choice for the Co-Leader position.

That is exactly why they provide us with a report button. The report button is not always an "against" feature. You hit the button and you send a message saying its posted under the wrong section and click various and send it.
Noobs are called noobs since they're new so we need to help them but in this case mods are there to do that.
That is why I stopped telling them and ven if i do I send a report first so that the mods can do w/e they want.
If they have a problem, they can tell me.. I'll stop. -

Interesting...None of the moderators have had problems with me doing that. And I know several individuals on UPSB who do that as well. None of the moderators have had problems with them doing that. -

by having spinners that are elite seperated from the rest, it'll draw a thicker line between them and normal ones.. and thats what we dont want do we? yea sure we talk to eriror and chautran and other elites casually but they still discuss things amongst themselves that we don't know. Having an elite team will create a second "mini vision" within the team and when there's Di-Vision (2 visions), there will be division.
So no. I think YR should stay as it is. And we already have a rank system too. -

As in you guys think a lot before you actually carry out the plan. The idea you guys are proposing is a very theoretical one. It is only something that can be talked about and not something that will actually happen to its maximum when carried out.
There tend to be people who are better than others and you never know if they will become better one day. Nobody will feel sad that they are of beginners level and are not widely acceptd into the higher levels (Elite Rev, etc).
Think about it: Do we feel sad that we ae not as good as Eriror, Seven, S777, etc? We only look upto them and hope to become as good as them one day. This drives a positive motivation in us which continues us to keep spinning and reach a high level. Once we reach that level, we want to reach higher (Man's wants are unlimited).
The same way, Some beginners in this team do not have to worry about exposing themselves to the rest of UPSB but can compete inside of this team and develop.
Isn't that why this team is there? To welcome anyone in UPSB and to motivate them to become better so as to making this team better. If all you want is to "Welcome anyone from UPSB", then you have a terrible selfish motive which I dont think is that good because you just want this team to keep getting bigger and bigger. We are already the biggest Team in UPSB.
