Except the grip just falls off on a dr.grip. Whereas HGG grips are significantly harder to take off, especially if you get one where the grip seems like its glued on dry.gif

Some Dr. Grips have.. glued on tips, or something. I'm not completely sure, I've just seen a tip with a piece of the barrel still stuck in it.

What do you mean it's garbage? I've got one and I can take everything apart just fine. Maybe there's differences?

It's garbage because the grip is not the same as the Japanese Pencil version (for ballsign) and the tips are not the same as the Japanese Pencil version (Dr. KT, Dr. CT).

k2 how did u take ur tip off? did u just have to screw it off or was it harder? cuz the one i bought is stuck on and i cant find a way to take it off

I took one of those bottle openers. That thin piece of rubber and gripped the tip and twisted it off. I think it was stuck on pretty good. I'm pretty sure the tip should come off because if it's a pen it's refillable. If it's a pencil you need to put more lead in.

Rubber is good, do that, much better grip.

The grip is not as transparent, but just as usefull for Ballsign Mods. The tips, atleast if it's the pen it looks like in the picture, are identical to the Japanese Dr Grip tips except it has a small border inside the tip, which maybe makes it a tad lighter but nothing noticeble without scales.

I've only tun into ink/gel (not sure which) Dr Grips whose tips can't be screwed of, but since you're supposed to use the Mech Pencil tips for Dr. KT that shouldn't matter.

wow, so just because it doesn't look EXACTLY like RYO's or EXACTLY like bonkura's it's trash? geez, thats OCD at its finest.

So, you posted just to criticize me, didn't you? I don't have OCD, and I don't even know why you would associate that with me. Aries posted a picture of the Dr. Grip LTD pen, who's tip does not have a point, and actually weighs less.

We're not talking about the American Dr. Grip pencil, people.

i got like this silver dr grip shaker and the tip seemed to be glues on or sumthing so then i just cut it with modeling scissors. However, it completely wrecked the pen

i have some questions about the dr. grip tip.

    1. When people make dr. kt do they use the tips from the mechanical pencil or pen?
    2. Does the mechanical pencil tip and pen tip have any difference? (in weight and appearance )

    Thanks in advance.

The Mechanical Pencil tip is what is used. They look kind of different; the mechanical pencil has a small sharp point, whilst the regular pen doesn't. In weight I'm not sure there's a different..

And one more thing, the regular Dr Grip pen tip I have doesn't really fit as easily into the Sailor Gel grips as the mechanical pencil ones, so it's the mechanical pencil ones you should get.

so is the Dr. Grip Gel the one i should get?

Ok if you want to make a real DR.kt you need to find the really old 0.5 amarican dr.grips which arnt made anymore. or use the shaker ones. What ryo and bonkura uses is a 0.5 tip thats blunted so they look like the pen tip.

For the grip if you dont really care about the rest of the pen try putting it in some hot water to get it soft then try pulling it off.

    Hope this helps happy spinnning.
