the book "ペンスピ魂 Pen Spi Damashii (Pen Spinning Soul)" was Published in Japan.
    http://shop.kodansha.jp/bc2_bc/search_view.jsp?b=2143119
but, the author is not pen spinner.
    so, it has many misprints.xD
and, the tricks are Korean name.lol
because, the author interviewed to KTH, Shark, and Cloud Traveler in PenDolSa.
it book has the dvd of 105 tricks and their freestyle.:D

"PEN SPINNING" a pen for Pen Spinning? lololol
by a toy company Takara Tomy
    http://plusd.itmedia.co.jp/lifestyle/artic.../news123_2.html
    It news says that
it is recognized by PS Association Japan.
PENSPINNING has right length and weight at the ends.
6 colors, 2 patterns and 2 sets of DVD + 2 pens will be released in about Feb 2008 (a plan) .

    what do you think?

I think that I'd like to spin common pens xD

    thx laugh.gif

edit:I might let you misunderstand xl the book has a dvd.

those pens would suck for infinitys. but other wise. they look sweet

I wouldn't mind getting the book just for collection purposes. I thought about making a book and DVD before, but I guess it's just not worth it.

Those specially made pens seem kinda cool but they lack one very important factor: modularity. I guess you could put some outserts and what not. Plus the caps look really weird.

    wow the book is nice,

it says they interviewed KTH because he won the WT! Fairly recent stuff then.

But yeah it focuses only on Pendolsa, so it's less relevant for us... although you can still watch the DVD I guess.

The pen doesn't look very good... Just because it says PEN SPINNING on it doesn't mean it's good for spinning :/

EDIT: The pen is created by the company Takara Tomy with feedback from pen spinners.

It's not retractable, but it can write. (Capped)

The caps are made of a grip-like texture, so that it is adequate for infinities.

    Length = 20cm

Weight is variable, apparently there is some mechanism to adjust the weight dunno.gif

According to my japanese source, the book is crap. The dvd feels cheap.

I think the feedback was taken from double capped mod lovers. laugh.gif
The cap seems alright. It might hold metal tips alright, but from the way they designed the caps, it looks like they weighted the caps in some way so no metal tips are needed. Just speculation. Furthermore, the barrels themselves seem to be of good length, however to be truly modular, it would have been best to sell the pens with a clear barrel so you have the option of both insert and outsert. I suppose Takaratomi opted for no clear barrel since it didn't make much financial sense to them. Who knows. dunno.gif
Furthermore, I wonder about the modularity of the pen itself. Would the caps be able to fit on other pens? Would other caps from other pens fit on this particular barrel?
Those colors look a little pastel shaded.

If I ever got the chance to design a pen made for pen spinning, I would have to be teamed up with K4S. Too bad it isn't going to happen.

Now for the book, it seems like a good start in the direction non-digital media. I want to buy the book to see just what kind of content it has. It'll give me some ideas as to what else could be written in books...

Now if only we had this kind of support and exposure in North America...

you dont need grips for infinity read my edit

Infinity is a lot harder without grips though, unless there are large bumps or something to similar to grip onto.

Haha, I'd like to have one of the pens. Are they being sold yet?

I don't really see the point of a penspinning book laugh.gif The pen is a nice idea tho, seems fine for infinities too, if I can do my infinity combos with a japanese pencil mod's metallic smoothed surfaced tips ^^ I think that a grip-like surface should do the trick.

I'm interested to see what the book and DVD contain. scratchchin.gif

As for the premade pen mod, i think its pretty neat that a toy company was willing to take the plunge and mass produce spinning pens. I dont know who designed the final prototype but whoever it was probably was not a pen spinner. A clear body would have been nice for inserts but the current outserts are okay. If i could design a premade pen mod to be mass produced i already have a few ideas in mind but since that will never happen i need not worry about perfecting the idea tongue.gif

I find this awesome, as well. These kind of things is what will push penspinning further. There are stores called "Designtorget" here in Sweden, that sells kind of special items. It can be basically anything that's a bit odd or has a strange, or beautiful, design. If I made a small introduction to penspinning booklet and modded some awesome ComSsa (or even better, imported some of these pens!), I could let them sell them in packages. Haven't had time for that yet though :(

    EDIT: Aweden -> Sweden

I'd get the DVD, because it's a lot easier to learn tricks by watching them being done than to look at pictures and try to visualize the whole thing taking place. Plus, I'm sure it has some nice bonus features.
As for the pens, collection purposes for me, no more, no less. They're a bit too long for my tiny hands, and adjustable weight... sounds interesting.

I love some of the outserts but the ends still look weird to me. Seriously, if I could redesign the ends i could make that pen look like sex laugh.gif

Damn I want those pens. I've tried to buy them from people on JEB, but they're not released yet right? It says February 2008 on the site, so I guess that's when they come out..

hella interesting. Hope it will get more people to join PSing. the pen looks like crap IMO. I understand that there should definitely be a beginner standard pen for spinning. but seriously looks pretty crappy. they could hv made it look more like a pen or sumthin cuz i wouldnt spin tht in public. Maybe a manufactured bictory would be good. or just get hella comssas ;p then they give u like grips so u can design it how u want(grips cut already). anyways just thought i should put my input in....

They're going to be released in Japan Feburuary 21st. They've actually been prereleased on Feburuary 1st, 2nd, and 3rd though.

You need to install the Asian Language pack for your Adobe Reader. Try opening it with FireFox and it should prompt you to do so.
