Ok, this is just a game I thought up. (Note: It's just for fun so there are no winners or losers, although if someone wants to give out a prize for the best kit, that's fine.)

Objective: Design a pen spinning starter's kit, geared towards beginners of course.

    Guidelines

    1. Take all aspects of PS into account while designing the kit. Consider the titles of the sub-forums here to get a general idea.
    2. For filming, assume that 25% of the beginners already have some type of camera that is adequate for filming PS. You can also assume that all beginners have a computer with webcam capability.
    3. For modding, assume that all the beginners have zero prior modding experience.
    4. Your kit can include things that currently do not exist, such as a book or DVD on PS. (Note that you would have to determine the size/amount and corresponding price of such items yourself). If it's a DVD, book, or something similar, you should describe what material it would contain. You can assume that the person knows sufficient English.

    Information you need to include
    1. A list of all contents and approximate price of each, along with a total manufacturing price for the whole kit.
    2. The price you would sell the kit for.
    3. The nature of the contents (e.g. what type of pens, what is the kit itself made out of, etc.)
    4. The approximate size of the kit. (Rough measurements are good but you can compare it to another object to describe size if need be.)

    A few things to consider
    1. Manufacturing price and selling price.
    2. Durability. (e.g. If your kit happens to include a pen spinning case, would it break if accidentally dropped? etc.)
    3. Effectiveness. (Put yourself in the beginner's shoes. "How well would the kit help me learn? Would it help me stay motivated rather than just quit PS after some time?" etc.)

Have fun! If you have any questions free to post them here. Also feel free to comment on kits others post or on the game itself.

    Pen spinning kit: Contents
A scrap of paper with a few pen spinning websites on, including this one
A few pens that you can find in shops around the world that are good for spinning

    Pen spinning kit: Price
I would sell it for cost of the pens + postage (not very much I guess) ie, manufacturing price = cost of putting the kit together.

    pen spinning kit: size:
    a large envelope

Cheap, deadly effective, perfect. Spinners don't need a camera or fancy mods to spin! I think nearly all of us probably learnt from this kind of basic kit or something close.

there no cost limit? cuz if it's for beginners I think it has to be pretty cheap... like free.

You could make a decent kit for a newbie for under $10 i would think. Plastic case, 2 rsvp and 2 hgg; or plastic kit, rsvp, hgg and comssa. Do we work under the assumption that the newbie wants to make their own mod or does the whole kit come pre-cut and all they do is assemble or is the whole mod put together for them?

Could probably throw in a small pamphlet or even burn a CD that has a few videos of pro spinning and maybe a tutorial for the fundamentals. However, someone would have to make the kit free of charge to keep it cheap enough to sell to newbies...

Zombo: No cost limit, but obviously if you make it cost too much nobody would buy it. It's up to you to decide on a reasonable price that a newbie would be willing to spend. It can't be free because you'd lose money with every kit you make. If the kit becomes popular, it can add up to hundreds of dollars.

K4S: It's up to you to determine whether you want to include the spare parts to make a mod or include the mod itself. The PSer is just an average person with no modding experience. It really depends on the amount of confidence you would have in a beginner's modding ability.

Mats: That wouldn't ship too well and it could get damaged.

As for filming, you don't have to include an actual camera. What you could do instead is include a gift certificate to an electronics store or something similar.

Bah, I would completely stuff the envelope with bubble wrap, at no extra fee to the beginner. Then stuff would not break smile.gif

Haha. I think all newbies need are a forum to talk to people to, video tutorials from Eso, and pens they buy THEMSELVES at the nearest store. And maybe online pen ordering and stuff. But since this is a game,

The contents: a DVD w/ the fundies, a book with diagrams and simple pen mod tutorials such as...an RSVP MX, a Bictory, Comssa maybe, etc.

Kit size and material: ...a small cardboard box.

Price: I'm not exactly sure how much it would cost to buy DVDs... maybe the whole thing would cost us like, 15 bucks at most?

    Tool kit ($3.00):
    -Small Handsaw

Yes indeed it's quite pricy if it's like $15~$16, but it have essential things such as tool kit that you can use forever in pen modding, and RSVP MX retractable (japanese version...uses same pens, but looks better and balance is better). so they could spin in school as well. i think it's good for its price.
