When you are gonna show off your skills to non-spinners what kind of tricks do you then pick?
What kind of tricks do normally impress non-spinners?

Double charge is a surprisingly flashy and simple trick to show to non-penspinners. But honestly, non-ps'ers are impressed by any of the fundamentals.

i don't show off to non-psers, sonce most of them cannot appreciated it. for those who know a little about penspinning will ask me if i can do fingerpass smoothly, then i do 2 handed fingerpass.

ususually a thumbspin of more than 6.0 would catch attention, then a bakfall by itself would be impressive to a non-pser.

When people see me spin in class, it's always the BackArounds they ask me to teach them, so I guess they must be most impressed by these.

this depend son the presentation of the trick as well. Shadow looks a hell of a lot better from the top then it does from the side.

Sonic Rise and twisted sonic bust seem to amaze people, and ta harmonic is really good to non PSer

Yeah, that's definitely the one I use around non-PSers. Some are attracted to the infinity family too.

People are impressed by Cont. TA Harmonics at my school. I think it's because they can actually sort of understand with going on, because with more complex combos with various Twisted Passes, Arounds, and Shadows, etc..., most people can't tell whats going on [even when spinning slowly] and just kind of dismiss it.

I tried BakFall, TA Harmonic, really simple combos(Ex. Twisted Sonic 23-12 -> TA) and I tried to do really complicated combos so they can't really tell what I am doing which really impress them because their like "Wow, how does he do that?" But since it's hard for them to see what I am doing, I tried to add "Wipers", "Infinities" and "Figure 8" to slow it down.

People in my class don't really like the infinity. They all think it's easy and say "I can do that" then hold the pen at the tip and start waving it around. They know that it's different but they still think that it's easy.

I get the same response, even when I do a double extended infinity.

I've been practicing TS 2.0 > Palmspin. That really wows them.

The people in my class do the opposite. They go "How do you do it?" I told them but they can't seem to do it(The pen gets stuck between their index and middle finger tongue.gif)

  23. Elleray

combos that arent really complicated seem to get the best results here. a nice TA harmonic, or fingerpass even gets people staring smile.gif

Rofl some of my friends do that but some other people who are in my class who aren't my friends are like "matt's pro at spinning, show them the infinity."

But the tricks i usually do are bak fall and twisted sonic bust - bak rev

If i did show off with a single trick, i'd use cont. shadow still 12-12

  28. Sfsr
    Date: Sun, Oct 14 2007 14:14:21

Haha. Infinity, for some reason people love it. Because they understand how it works, and quite often end up learning it themselves I guess.

  29. WhiteFang
    Date: Sun, Oct 14 2007 15:24:56

infinities are great..that how i first got into psing..when i saw friend doing infinity..i learnt it straight away..not a hard trick..

  30. K4S
    Date: Sun, Oct 14 2007 17:53:14

If you cant impress them with infinity then surely a thunder infinity will draw more attention. Do it.

My dad saw that vid and he told me to try it...I didn't.
Back on topic, I get attention doing charge in class or on bus. O_o

  32. ATXPWC

yeah twisted sonic bust, shadow, & infinities seem to get more attention than they deserve for that difficulty level.

  33. Novastrike
    Date: Wed, Oct 24 2007 03:46:23

None of my friends seems to be impress. Nobody even cares what I am doing dry.gif

Most of them don't appreciate the art of ps.(I think)

  34. Nova
    Date: Wed, Oct 24 2007 04:06:16

keep on at it. don't bother trying to 'impress' them.

but one day, you may get a random comment like: 'eh thats damn cool' all of a sudden.

Most people are amazed with the easy tricks, zo I do them, and they do not fail happy.gif . Most people are interested and ask me to teach them the TA/sonic/infinity. I think they just get borred and want to waste their time wink.gif just like me smile.gif

Just that he was initially impressed enough by the fundamentals to want to learn the thumbaround. ;)

the post above mine when i posted was talking about teaching the fundamentals after people were impressed, so i mentioned it too.

Did a mini combo , and the teacher and the classmates who saw me spinning stared at me , as if I was an alien.

    Anyway,I did a Inverse Twisted Sonic 34 - 23 > Inverse Sonic 23 - 12 > NeoSonic 12 - TF > FL TA rev > Bakfall > K4LC

They then asked me what the heck did I do with my pen.

I said : " The pen is haunted!!Help! The ghost is spinning the pen around my fingers!!AHH!! HELP!!"

I meant that as a joke, and they took it and screamed like hell.

When I told them it was just a joke, they were really mad at me. sad.gif

Well... I know most of my friends asked how to do a TA since its the most basic trick you learn and also the one you usually start with.
I have a couple of them who can do it.
I think that a TA is realy the best one to do as it seems simple and yet complex to the non-spinner.
When I realy want to impress I do some combo's like sonic rise->shadow 12-12->bak and so on.. (I'm only a beginner)

  46. Gabriel
    Date: Thu, Jan 10 2008 02:53:59

Hmm my classmates really like my FingerPass. I must admit, it's a relatively easy trick that looks quite impressive when done fast.

  47. sangara
    Date: Thu, Jan 10 2008 04:10:00

Yea people in my class seem to be contempt with stuff like a Shadow 2.0 or Bak 1.5. But I usually start out with a sonic rise or something, possibly even Twisted Sonic Bust. But then again the actual pen itself seems to amaze them.

  48. minche
    Date: Thu, Jan 10 2008 18:08:50

my classmates like charge and double charge. and they always think they can do it, so they start playing with pen and ask me how did i do it biggrin.gif

  49. Ste
    Date: Sun, Jan 13 2008 01:01:44

I just do TA harmonic and differents infinities people ask me how I do it...

  50. minche
    Date: Sun, Jan 13 2008 21:07:36

i sometimes think that they like fundamentals more than advanced tricks 'cause they think they can do it.

  51. tylt
    Date: Fri, Jan 18 2008 06:14:19

    I agree with minche
but everyone at my school like
    twisted sonic bust and shadow.
multiple spin baks are always a
    crowd pleaser. ha
