   Hi and welcome to our new board.
   
   UCPSB has grown large enough that we now have to move to our own private server. I would like to thank rockstar and xshadowfire for setting this up for us.
   
   But not only that, we decided to merge UCPSB and UPSB together. Since both boards focus on the same communities, it makes sense to only keep one board. We took extra precaution to make sure that UPSBv3 is familiar to both UCPSB and UPSB members alike. We are confident both the "newer" members from UCPSB and the veterans from UPSB will find this board comfortable to use.
   
   Please note that in general, UPSB will be moderated more tightly than UCPSB. We expect everybody to abide by the rules so that we can maintain a friendly atmosphere.
   
   UCPSBv2 will also stay open for as long as it can. It is not broken so there's no reason to close it. However, people will strongly be encouraged to come to UPSB instead. Moderators will no longer have the responsibility to moderate the old forum, although they still can. I fully expect UCPSB to be deserted eventually once everybody is aware of UPSB.
   
   Here's a summary of the new features you can expect from UPSBv3:

   • No Ads: This is not run on a free service, thus we do not support ads.
   • Search: Search is enabled on this forum! Use it to avoid repetitive threads and find the info you seek quickly.
   • Security: Many may remember that UCPSBv2 got hacked. We use an advanced version of IPB (same software as UCPSBv2) to fix those flaws.
   • Posts from UCPSB: Unfortunately, posts are NOT carried over from UCPSB, due to the limitations of Invisionfree. We did copy over the most important threads. What's good however is that we can now backup our forum anytime and secure our data.
   • Report: the report feature has been improved. You no longer need to include a link of the bad post.
   • Arcade, Chat: They are not implemented yet, but you can still access them from the old board for moment being.
   • Shoutbox: We now have a better shoutbox which spans across the whole board. Please respect its rules and do not abuse it.
   • Automatic image resizing: When you post images (using the IMG tag), large images will be automatically thumbnailed. This means you don't have to worry about posting large images which will break the page.
   • Avatar/Signature: Avatars are automatically resized. Signature limits are enforced at the time of entry, so please follow the rules.
   • New sections: We have created new forums and categorized them in more sections. Please post your thread in the appropriate forum. You can "fold" sections you don't visit by clicking on the icon at the right of each section.
   • Language packs: In addition to an improved skin changer feature, we now support multiple languages. We will add more languages in the future to make UPSB accessible for everyone.
   • Double-posting: If you accidentally double-post within 5 minutes of your previous post, it will automatically append it to that previous post. Please do not rely on this feature extensively and STILL use EDIT.
   • Advanced polls: Poll creation is now easier to understand, and you can now create polls with multiple questions.
   • Personal portal / profile: Clicking on a member's name will bring you to that member's portal. We will add more features so that you could customize your portal better. We also have pen spinning related profile fields to fill. You can also post a comment in someone's profile (similar to facebook's Wall, mySpace friend comments). Don't forget to set your country flag in your profile!
   • My Videos: You can submit your favourite videos, pen spinning or not, to be embedded inside your profile portal! Videos must then be approved by a moderator before they appear. People can then watch the videos by clicking on your profile and comment on them using your profile comments section mentionned above! Current video limit is 5 per member.
   • Rich Text Editor: You can use this new text editor when posting messages. It will display formatting as you type like in Microsoft Word. If you prefer to use BBCode, switch to Standard Editor.
   • Display modes: There's 3 ways to view threads: Outline, Standard, Linear+. Outline will show the thread structure in the form of a tree (where posts are linked to another if they quote it) similar to BBS. Standard is the regular one you all know, and linear+ is similar except it always displays the first post of the thread at the top of the page. There's also a "Lo-Fi" version of the board which is less CPU and connection intensive.
   • BB codes: We added a bunch of BB codes to use. The most useful one is Youtube, which allows you to embed videos in any post.
   • Article system: You can access our articles through the link at the top right of the navigation bar. The Research Department will post its articles there. You can also submit your tricks and mod tutorials there. The mods will review them before approving.
   • Calendar: Similarly, regular members can also submit events to the calendar. Mods must review your entry before approving.
   • Rating: You can rate members and threads anonymously.

   There's many more features we haven't mentionned or haven't discovered yet!
