It's about time for another gathering.
Location and date have been set to the following...
Update by Kam: due to amount of people who can't make it to the original date. We have decided to split the gathering into two days. That way we can accommodate everyone. Please see details below

You can come to EITHER date!!! Some people may show up for both, but others can only make it to one of the two dates. Either date should be fun
No registration of any kind is required. The above lists are to give us a better idea of who's coming.
For either date...here are some suggestions on what to bring:- yourself (duh)
- friends (people who might be interested in learning)
- money (for food, or if you're planning on trading/buying stuff from others)
- pens (for spinning, share/show off, selling/trading)
- other manipulation items (please, no firearms or illegal stuff. As much as those are fun, we don't want cops to show up and ruin our day)
- anything else you think it's appropriate

the 3rd is wrong on so many levels.
1) I would have to ask to take that day off in place of taking the 27th off which i already have done
2) Idk if my best friend will be able to go on the 3rd (or if i would be able to go)
3) If I went on the 3rd, I would have to work the day before school starts up again which is not a good thing.
basically its really inconvienient for me personally.
If its more of a trouble for others to go on the 27th then have it for the 3rd, but if no one cares, please have it 2 days after christmas! -

alright...I hate not being able to accommodate everyone, but it looks like it will remain the 27th of this month. Most of us prefer this date, and we had already said it was gonna be on that date, so...to those who can't make it...i'm very sorry
There is always next time (probably during summer).
Next time we need to start planning with more time in advance, so that everyone can voice their schedules better. It seems like a lot of people didn't see this thread until pretty late :/
Perhaps we need to have one central SoCal gathering thread that people can subscribe to, then post a note there whenever we start planning for a new gathering. Or you guys could PM me your email and i'll keep a list of everyone who wants to be notified when we have a SoCal gathering.

Errr...is there anyone who lives north of Brea, and whose parents (or whoever is driving you) could stop by and pick up l33tPi? I checked and if I dropped off Tek's group at Brea first, then come back to pick him up, it would lose me 1 hr of driving. Then another hour on the way back >_< -

Ok, so I talked to a lot of people...and it's impossible for everyone to make it on the same date. So, we'll have to compromise and do the best we can.
What we'll do is keep the gathering at the 27th (since a lot of us already arranged our schedules on that date, specially those traveling from further distances).
Then, if you guys want, we can have another gathering the weekend right after, on Jan. 3. It doesn't have to be a mini gathering either, those who can show up for both are free to come to both. I will probably make it to the one on the 3rd as well if there is enough people.
This seems to be the best compromise so nobody misses out completely.
And yes...this is FINAL xD -

Because I work on Mondays, and if it's on a Sunday, I have to drive Tek's group up two hours to Santa Barbara, then back down to San Diego (total of 6 hrs) in a single day.
Making it a Saturday, I can drive up two hours, sleep over, then come back on the next day It's basically the difference between driving 4/4 hrs or 2/6 hrs >_< -

you know, I don't mind criticism, but what you said was annoying and pointless.
First, it's your personal opinion. Second, you didn't really state what made it look ugly to you. Third, you didn't offer any suggestions. In other words, all you accomplished was to annoy me and not give any feedback that I can work with.
Ok, now that you explained it better...I can respond properly.
Maybe the part A and B can be placed in a different location, but I do think they are necessary. Why? The insert is like a souvenier/proof that you were in the gathering. You never know...maybe a few years down the line, people will look at that insert and say..."oh, you were in the 6th gathering...so you met 'so and so'?" Then you'll be like "oh, no, I was in part B of that gathering"...and vice-versa.
In other words, they need to be a bit different because they're technically not the exact gathering with the same people.
PS: No, I wasn't serious...I was just...annoyed >_<

Just putting this out there, but I think that the Socal gathering B itself should just be cancelled. I dont really want to put pressure on Kam to show up again, make inserts, etc.
That and theres like 4 people going haha.
