This question came to me last night when I was spinning with the lights off. Although I could do all the tricks I normally can, it wasn't nearly as fun. Does being able to see the pen make spinning more enjoyable for you guys?

I think you only need to see when you perform a lot of spins or aerials.

How would you make sure you won't be blind?
Wear goggles all the time laugh.gif
But seriously, being blind would be terrible
If I were blind, I think I will not spin as much.
I will probably just spin out of habit.

I won't happen except you're truly unlucky person dry.gif , and just safety yourself thats it

I totally agree ... , you might lose all of your future , plus no games to play and no internet surfing if you were blind sad.gif

I wouldn't spin, I would probably hate having to feel around for the pen everytime i drop it. I think seeing the tricks makes it more enjoyable

You need to be able to see to be able to spin.

I think I would keep spinning but I would stop learning new tricks, just spin however I want.

Yes I watch my hands when spinning, its cool. cool.gif

hard to say cuz blind ppl think totally different.

like what about the deaf ppl who still play music even though they can't hear it?? one such musician said its because she can feel the vibrations of the music and she can hear it that way and it's fun.

maybe you will learn to appreciate the sensation in your hand and it will be as much fun as seeing what you'er doing??

    lolwut

I wouldn't know what to do if I went blind. >>
I wouldn't even be concerned about spinning if that happened.
I'd probably consider /emocide 'ing as being blind would just ruin my life in so many wayss. :[

And you can't cube blind if you're not able to see the cube beforehand. o.o'

the sensation of spinning while looking and spinning with eyes closed is totally different.

i guess i'll just feel and spin...

how would you know if how the trick look like?

  18. The Dane
    Date: Wed, Dec 17 2008 15:21:13

blinds actually learn to feel and hear and use their other senses much more intense...

So I guess a blind would be able to penspin... Maybe even better than a non-blind (Or better than many).
Sometimes I spin with closed eyes to train hard tricks by feeling how the pen is supposed to move.

Hard tricks and aerials though are more luck in my case XD...
Spinning without actually staring at your hands ain't as hard as with closed eyes.

With closed eyes my bust record only is 4 Oo

I think if I get to know a blind I want to try teaching him some tricks... Would be very interesting imo.
But it's like other issues when it comes to handicaps... People who don't have them hardly can imagine what it's like, having them... (I think)

    Keep Spinning

IMO spinning when you are blind is impossible(not so effective and funny tongue.gif ).

    pros:
-you have great feeling of pen, so you can spin lighter mods easly
    -ehm?

    cons:
-you can't see your tricks and mods
    -modding is imposible(see previous)
    -your tricks will be sharped
-if your pen fell down, how will you find & pick up it? tongue.gif
-you can't set camera by your own

so Illidan sucks at penspinning huh.gif

Hmm..blind? Ermmm..I guess its ok coz i 'm not doin any hard tricks BUT if the pen dropped? Have to buy new 1..Coz can't see where the pen dropped..

  21. Shadowclad

Personally, I spin just as good with my eyes closed. However, I don't think it's nearly as fun because it reduces pen spinning to just moving your fingers in weird ways. Pen spinning is as much art as sport and seeing it is necessary for it to be an art.

you're blind -> you can't see trick, ergo you won't find psing appealing, and you can't really learn trick without seeing them
    so, no rolleyes.gif

  23. Cheese
    Date: Fri, Jan 23 2009 23:57:58

I would still ps, but it would be hard to do the more advanced tricks, so I would probably do simple combos and such.

I'm sure if the pen dropped you would hear where it landed and be able to find it.

If you do an aerial with a Dr. KT and your blind, there will be an accident....

  26. Mats
    Date: Thu, Feb 26 2009 23:14:33

I'm sure I would still do the odd TA or Sonic if I happened to ever be picking up a pen, although, I think that I would strongly prefer typing things to writing them if I were blind (as I can touch type). There would be no way I would try to learn new tricks and such if I were blind though.

if i was blind, i would probably still spin and do simple stuff, but never try to learn a new trick again, becuase i do believe that being able to see your hands makes it more enjoyable, becuase doing crazy stuff just looks cool tongue.gif (i will learn things like that eventaully!!!)

Im a noob but sometimes i practise while im reading. i dont know if its the same with more advanced tricks.

    I watch it,

how do u do rubik's cube when ur blind??

on topic: i guess it would be pretty hard spinning blindly, but it can be done, w/ timing and sense of touch and listening.

ive tried it before, and i can only do half the tricks i normally can

  31. Joebob

i think spinning with your eyes closed would be a good exercise, but spinning when you're blind... how would you learn the tricks in the first place?

  32. imxmachine
    Date: Fri, Mar 27 2009 23:44:18

I would still keep spinning. If you have ever looked away while spinning, you would realize that you can still spin at least moderately well. I would and can spin if I were blind, I just wouldn't be able to learn new tricks.

Well i would if i were rich, had a trustful butler. Why? because ever imagine when you drop your pen then what? how do you find it? the rich part is for getting a whole lot of premade mods and the butler to order for you and to pick up them.

    Oh also a pen tray
