Welcome to the tutorial for the G2-E2B Mod.
~
*the mod in the pictures above have Extra Optional Modification #1 applied to the front pieces
~
Credit for the original E2B Mod goes to Cyshing.
~
This is a very simple, very cheap and very portable mod. This would be a great mod for beginners because it lets them get the feel for modding, lets then find accessable pens (especially if you are from the US) to make the mod, and it allows them for a simple practice tool to learn the fundamentals. Its not too light yet its not too heavy which is why i think it would be a good mod for beginners to learn with.
~
Lets get started.
~

1)
Gather your materials.
1 - 2x Pilot G2's
2 - Sandpaper
3 - Cutting Tool/Wire Snips
4 - Packing Tape (or any other tape)
5 - Rubber Mallet (or any other means of soft pounding)
Not pictured and optional: Super Glue
2)
Dismantle the 2 Pilot G2's and keep what is on the right and discard what is on the left.
3)
Empty and cut the inktube as shown. Discard the pieces that have an X over them. Cut the two front pieces as shown (acctually, to make things simple, both are cut right on that line that is on the front piece in the middle of where the grip used to be. the second one should be cut so that it is the same length as the threads). Discard the pieces that have an X over them.
4)
Gently pound the cut end of the shorter front piece into one of the back pieces all the way. If you are too vigorous, there is a slight chance that you may crack the barrel.
5)
Screw on the other back piece and make sure nothing is rattling or wrong.
6)
Roll just enough tape around each of the halves of the inktube so that it fits snuggly into the end of the back piece. Remove the bits of tape that hang over the edge.
7)
Insert the taped inktube halves into each end of the back pieces and cut off enough so that the cut front pieces will slide on and none will show in the round part of the tip. Use the picture for measurement reference.
8)
Slide the grips all the way on the cut front pieces.
9)
Push the cut front piece/grip combination all the way onto the back piece/taped inktube combination. Apply glue wherever necessary, if necessary.
10)
Congrats! You have just made a G2-E2B -

Uh, is it possible to put any grips connecting the two pen barrels? Something like Grip Aviaire btw.
And you might want to take note that G2s that are 0.5mm have transparent/clear barrels while 0.7mm have tinted barrels like the ones you used.
And picture 4 is awesome. Hammertime! -

Great mod, I make when I find some G2.
Little question: Can you just take those back things away? No cutting or like that? -
Date: Wed, Dec 10 2008 18:20:04
@furbelz, I just pull it off... no tape necessary..
-

Any idea if you could use Lantu's?
they are pretty much g2's but its ballpoint, thinner grip, and a thicker barrel. -

Awesome! It's Bictory cheap, and spins well! :clap clap:

My G2-E2B get cracked when I wasn't even touching it
-
Date: Fri, Jan 9 2009 20:43:44
if you guys have problems with them cracking, shave down the circumference of the cut G2 frontpiece. that way it isnt big enough for it to crack
-

Step #3: what do you mean that the 2nd front piece should be cut so that it is the same length of the threads? (what threads?)
-

the screw threads on the front part of the G2.

hmmmm if i understand what ur saying, then look up the video on youtube that i made that says how to cut a G2 body.
all g2's are the same, regardless of ink diameter -.- -

press hard on it with a knife, then bend it. it should break across the incision and make a clean cut
@Kaff - threads are the part that screws the 2 pieces together -

@Guitrum Is a jedo tip heavier or a telescopic tip heavier??
-
Date: Mon, Jan 26 2009 09:16:49
uhmmmmmm i do not have a scale but i would imagine that a jedo tip would be heavier
-

Hehe thx. Im making one with either extra modification 1 or 2 for my friend.

roll the blade on the barrel to make a deeper indent -
Date: Fri, Feb 20 2009 21:23:43
When you say "roll the blade", do u mean cut the barrel across?
And also how deep in do i cut until i use the scissor to finish it? -
Date: Sun, Feb 22 2009 02:34:11QUOTE (Pen Islandâ„¢ @ Feb 20 2009, 01:23 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>When you say "roll the blade", do u mean cut the barrel across?

all you need is a crease in the barrel and then bend it so it will break along that crease. it isnt all that difficult. -

Finaly made the mod (jut need to fit the ink tubes)
One slight problem though...
The barrel cracked Any advice to fix/solve this? -
Date: Tue, Feb 24 2009 23:29:46
if you just read some of the earlier posts, you shave down the diameter of the piece before hammering it into the g2 body

Yeap. means u can screw it apart so that it fits in your pockets of your pants or jeans and u can crew it back on when u wanna spin it. -

FINALLY done with mine. My second mod; first was RSVP V1. I think most of my difficulties may have been due to inexperience, but the taping at the end was a BITCH! As for the pen itself, I dunno. I really like the standard G2. The length on the G2-E2B is nice, but kinda trips me up. Also, it'd be nice to have a mod that writes, so I can spin in class casually. The length of this actually may draw some unwanted attention. The mod is nice, but I think I've yet to find the one perfect for me. I'm actually wondering if I should even bother to continue, or just stick with the standard G2.
And son of a bitch, my barrel just cracked. I even filed down the insert and everything like everyone said. *sigh* This is shaping up to be more of a learning experience than a mod for me... -

How do I remove the colored clip at the back of the G2 barrel? Can't seem to get it off.
And I can't view guitrum's video , country or domain's problem. -
