Ask for help on the team feature here or any bugs encountered.
Here are some infos:
- The team feature is on the top right corner. Direct link.
- You need 100 posts to create a new team. However there's no requirement to join a team.
- Select public if you want people to be able to join your team (pending approval of the leader).
- Nominate a co-leader in your team.
- Once created, your team must be approved by a moderator. DO NOT MAKE JOKE TEAMS OR TEST TEAMS.
- There are no restrictions on the number of teams you can join and create.
ABUSE OF THE TEAM FEATURE WILL BE WARNED FOR AND YOUR TEAM MAY BE DELETED.
- You can then create a private forum for your team. You can moderate your own forum.
- WHEN CREATING YOUR FORUM, SELECT 'NO' FOR POST COUNT. We will check every team forum to make sure posts do not count there. IF YOU BREAK THIS RULE, YOU WILL BE WARNED.
- All team forums are moderated at roughly the same level as off-topic sections. Use them, but do not abuse them.
- Team moderation is currently not working.
- There are other features you can use as well, such as setting a team logo, creating news for your team, creating ranks and mass PMing your members.
If you have any questions, post here. -

Will the team leaders (and co-leaders) have mod powers over their own teams' forums?
-
Date: Mon, Oct 15 2007 07:25:05
team leaders automatically have mod powers in their own forums, and they can designate who else has mod powers in that forum.

"Can the public apply to join the group? (Note that turning this to No makes it so that no members can join your team)"
This is stated such that if you choosethen no members are allowed to apply to join, AND the creator can't invite any members in.
So, I want to know that if you choose, then you can still invite members to join the team, right? -
Date: Tue, Oct 16 2007 18:16:51
Hi, I have a sticky for team help, use it.
I believe the team feature has no invite.
Setting it to yes will allow anybod to apply, but the leader can then accept/reject the candidature.
Therefore inviting merely means PMing every team member to join, and then closing the group once everybody has joined.
I could be wrong though, but I don't think invite exists. -

uhhh... is that a bug or did Shadow do that on purpose. 'Team closed to Pubic"?
-
Date: Thu, Oct 18 2007 13:10:53
all the spinners of genesis joined, so why would he leave it open?
-
Date: Thu, Oct 18 2007 13:14:34
so public is now spelt without the 'l'? ,go figure. Or can't the 'Pubic's join anymore?
-
Date: Thu, Oct 18 2007 13:16:59

Is there another page after you press 'join this team'? or does it send a pm to the leader straight away? Cause I accidentally pressed 'Join this team' on RMX when I was trying to view the member list.
-

theres another page..
EDIT: why couldn't you find that out urself.. you clicked on it.. -
Date: Thu, Dec 6 2007 10:16:59
Because I pressed stop before it had reached the page, so I didn't want to try clicking on it again to find out.
-
Date: Thu, Dec 6 2007 14:12:48
I dunno, but Eso is going to reject you so it doesnt matter.
-
Date: Sun, Jan 4 2009 06:18:06
Please don't spam my PM inbox with Team approval requests, I check once per day.
Never send PMs unless ur team was not approved for 1 week minimum or I will delay/reject approval for your team. -

1) Why was the option made then?
2) Even when I selected yes (not now.. few months ago), it didn't count posts so what's the point?? -
Date: Sun, Jan 4 2009 14:31:26
I cant remove it
but if you are caught I will warn you -
Date: Sun, Jan 4 2009 14:35:57
I tried it but never worked so I just selected no. I didn't read this thread then.. sorry. Anyways, it was 3-4 months ago (i think)..

the teams are bugged and moderators powers are not automatically added i have to do it myself
so please dont appoint more than 2 mods for your team forum to keep the work low
i see teams with around 5 mods, which is pretty dumb IMO
imagine if we had a 5/1 ratio lol, I would need 150 mods to manage upsb. -
Date: Mon, Jan 12 2009 00:24:31
Our team has like 5 moderators: Former Team Leader, Team Leader, Co-Leader, News Master, and Forummaster... >.>
Is that okay? -
Date: Mon, Jan 12 2009 00:42:08

Sorry for reviving this, but you can?
I haven't found the function on how to do that.
And also, mass-PMing members doesn't work for some reason. I can only PM members 5-6 at a time. -

Hmm...I'm actually not sure how to make a team subforum either o.0...
as for the mass PMing, yeah, you can only PM up to 6 people at a time...
normally, you'd have to enter in the names of the 6 people manually, but the mass PM function allows the names of your team members to be entered automatically, but you can only send to 6 of them at a time.. -
Date: Sun, Mar 15 2009 20:55:00
sorry by subforum i mean team forum,
you cant make a subforum inside your team forum.
if you need that many sections, consider just creating your own forum outside of UPSB... -

Do you get notified through email when your team is approved/disapproved?
-
Date: Fri, Jan 8 2010 07:15:35
I am goign to start deleting inactive teams.
If you KNOW your team is inactive and uneeded anymore, please tell me.
Some teams haven't had any activity for over 1 yr, I will delete those first. -
Date: Sat, Jan 9 2010 02:58:13
ummm.... did you delete ausclan???
because its not present in my team forums section, it seems that i'm not a part of ausclan according to my profile, and i've sifted through the team list and searched the whole board and there isn't ausclan
more to the point, we had important threads to do with the gathering this january etc that we might need
plus, i thought it was more or less one of the more active teams -
