Serious Discussion / Thoughts on Life

I actually write these down from time to time:
- Growing up, in short, means facing reality & doing things that you don't like doing.
- My motto: Be honest with yourself & do what you want.
- Human relationships (and thus the world) are governed by power, not reason. Reason is a luxury not everyone can afford.
- Knowledge is simply another form of power (which makes it both my sword & shield).
- I now think in consequences.
- I need enemies as much as I need friends.
- Talk is cheap. Talk is dirt cheap. There is only so much one can know through rationalisation & imagination. Experience, pain & hardship are the great teachers of life.
- There is never a good time to do anything, you've just gotta make time for it.
- Develop a love for the rules; they will protect you.
- I should not judge so easily, but I do judge simply because I can. That is my nature.
- There are no universal guidelines, only inidividual situations & expectations.
- Don't get your expectations too high, or you're likely to disappoint yourself.
- You will meet many idiots in life. Reason cannot be employed against unreasonable individuals.
- I made-believe till reality caught up with me.
- The institutional life has made me irreversibly class-conscious.
- Few things amuse me, so I often have to do the job myself.
- Why do you attached yourself so to these worldly things? They're just things.
- I don't like taking responsibility for others' actions.
- I'm no hero. Better a craven than a cripple.
- I'm so sick of myself, I want to get out of my skin (and see things from a different perspective).
- I want to continue being a good person. All I want to have is faith & good intentions.
- Good intentions are nothing without moral courage.
- There is no point in implementing perfect ideas in an imperfect world.
- People believe what the want to believe. (Is this world run on make-believe?)
- The truth is mostly instrumental, and can be bent to suit our needs if we're not caught lying and it doesn't harm others.
- Forgiving is a wise thing to do. Insecurity breeds grudgefulness.
- Do good without reason since evil is done without reason.
- Memory alone makes our actions significant; thus one should feel inclined to invest effort in that which he will remember.
- I'm a purposeful person, and the extroverted world is unpredictable & intimidating.
- Everything is instrumental; the universe points to God as its higher purpose.
- I do not want to have to answer to another person ever again.
- Listen. Stop & think.
- I am blind; I have many mental blind spots.
- Learn to control your emotions, or the consequences will be dire. -

Don't let the few bad eggs in NS put you down, I'd suppose NS would be kinda of a shocker to most people. -

i follow most of these rules. nice schools of thought. i could never get these down if i were to write them though.
