    QUOTE (Lindor)
    go round tricks :

During an around, the pen goes round a finger. During a go round trick, on the contrary, the finger goes round the pen. The pen does not move, it stay motionless.

For people who can understand french, here is the topic about go round tricks on FPSB :
    http://thefpsb.penspinning.fr/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=357

    And now some video :

    go round tricks

This video presents the "thumb go round reverse T2-T2" and after the "index go round T12-12". Others tricks at the end are not really good, that's an old video ^^

    pass round tricks

This video presents the "pass round tricks". This is another category which is include in the largest category, "go round tricks". During a go round trick, the finger completely goes round the pen; during a pass round trick, the finger just pass under the mod (if he was on the mod before the "pass round") or on the mod (if he was under the mod before the "pass round"). The finger makes an "half-rotation" (and the pen does not move of course).
    Breakdowns : ( !! Breakdowns in the video are'nt good !!)
    index pass round T2-1 (1u)
    IndexMiddle pass round T3-12 (1u, 2d)
    IndexMiddleRing pass round T4-12 (1u, 2d, 3d)
With the middle finger : Middle pass round 13-2 (2u)
    Others are just hybrids.

I will make other video if I can, there is others tricks which are possible.

I created a system which permits to breakdown pass round and go round tricks, but I don't know if I should post it here (that's about new tricks) or in the NC... (that's also about notation...)

I think we could draw a lot of inspiration from stalls. These tricks are basically stalls executed very quickly, so they're more like normal tricks than they are like stalls.

Unfortunately, I really don't know much about stalls...

I'm not sure I understand what you really mean... During a stall, are'nt all fingers motionless ? How could go round tricks be "stalls executed very quickly" ? I use stalls really often in my combo, I always thought go round tricks were differents... Both are motionless tricks, but a lot of tricks are motionless tricks (magic reset, windshield wiper, stalls, go round & pass round tricks, motionless pass, fingerswitching, some sliders...).

Here is a new video which present other possibilities and also, some hybrids with go round tricks :

EDIT : whoops, I just learned (thanks Zombo) that "go round" wasn't really an english word, the real word i tried to use was "go around". What name could be good for this concept ?

I guess I was just trying to say that we might be able to draw some inspiration for these tricks from looking at stalls. A lot of times, you see spinners moving their fingers around the pen during stalls.

    like pyralux's 'stall fall'

ok, I understand now thanks =) And have anybody an idea about a good name for these tricks ?

Not sure about the name. This is somewhat similar to the isolated tricks we were talking about earlier (where one part of the pen stays stationary), except in this case, the whole pen is staying still.

But I was thinking about these tricks, and fundamentally, there's only a few possible ways that the hand can move relative to the pen:

    1. Perpendicular to the pen on a horizontal plane (like lindor's tricks)
    2. Perpendicular to the pen on a vertical plane
    3. Parallel to the pen (like a slider)
    4. Rotating around the pen on a horizontal plane
    5. Rotating around the pen on a vertical plane
    6. Rotating on the axis of the pen.
    7. Some combination of the above six

Obviously, there are a lot of possibilities, but I don't know how many of these could end up being performable tricks that would look good in a combo.

This is the reason why I (and some FPSB's "reserchear" like KIRGO and Skatox) think a new category should be created : "motionless tricks". As I said, there are a lot of motionless tricks : sliders (the pen can also move in some slider, but it's easy to do a slider with the pen motionless), magic reset, "go round trick and pass round tricks" (I search a better name), motionless pass and motionless tap (you turn your hand, the pen stay motionless...), fingerswitching, stalls... All of these tricks should be in the same category, they all are motionless tricks. I think I should make a topic about motionless tricks and spinless (when the pen does not spin but does move, like pyralux's snaking (there is videos about it on FPSB's laboratory) tricks for the NC...

If you want to see a combo with motionless tricks, I made a combo more than two weeks ago; during this combo, the pen does never move. (I like this combo but it's more a test than a combo, on FPSB some spinners said it was beautifull and some other said it was horrible =) ).
So, it just a "test" who permit to imagin how to use motionless tricks in a combo (as said Zombo, motionless combo is original, but should'nt be used in a tournament =) )
