OK, so this is just a suggestive list of pens to buy as a spinner progresses, based on their spinning attributes, not aesthetic appeal.

If you have any disagreements/suggestions for this, I would be glad to consider your argument and change the list as needed.

    2 weeks of spinning:
    Bictory/Pencil
(They are light, which will help your finger dexterity [apparently] and it is good to learn with a light pen and move on to heavier than vice versa. Not to mention, both the Bictory and Pencil are very cheap, so you will not need to blow any amount of money in making this mod.

    1 month of spinning:
    RSVP V1/RSVP V2/RSVP MX

(They are light and one sided, which will help you to learn tricks more generally as you will need to adapt to both weight distributions on either side of the mod. They are reasonably cheap and have some aesthetic appeal.)

    1 month of spinning:
    comssa
(A light, double sided mod to help with any tricks that need a more even weight distribution)

    3 months of spinning:
    MSXA/MX^2
(They are one sided mods, which will help to continue at learning tricks with a more general weight approach, but with additional weight, it will allow you to progress to more difficult tricks)

    3 months of spinning:
    Metallic Comssa
(A double sided mod that is heavy enough to progress to more advanced tricks and has an even distribution of momentum)

    6 months of spinning:
    Dr. KT/Buster CYL
(They are heavy double sided mods that will have enough momentum to do advanced tricks with ease)

    (Optional)
    6 months of spinning+

    Grip Aviaire

(middle grip for help with learning multiple spin tricks)

    Tornado mod

(grips are very good for wipers)

No. Sorry man but this is just wrong.

First of all.. you learn new tricks all the time.
And second.. Mods are PERSONAL preference.

I don't know any reasons but this is just not right >_>"

The only thing I can agree on is that you should start with lighter pens.

hmm i agree you should start with light pens... for me dr kt/buster cyl is overkill.. xD but yea.. in general the order is good but i would just recommend adding 'normal comssa' with the rsvp v1, v2 and mx.

I'm sorry...but your first complaint doesn't really make any sense...were you learning midbak 1.5 at 1 month?

yes, mods are personal preference...but how does that have relevance here? it seems Inappropriate to buy every one sided mod only to realize you prefer Dr KTs....

Fail, a pencil should be at all stages.

I agree with the general order you listed but I think you are too specific. Instead of listing actual pens, which might unnecessarily turn beginners on or off to a certain pen, I think you should write generally what the pen should have at certain levels of progression.
Although I don't agree with where you put metallic comssa, I think it should be with MX and MX2

    disagreed, lol
first of all, a heavy pen will pretty much help new spinners to learn tricks faster. RSVP MX is not a good pen mod for beginners, it's really hard to learn tricks and start combos with it.
Then, a spinner can start using tornado mod soon as they start learning pen spinning. The gripped body will help the pen to stick to their fingers.

um.. metallic comssa is heavier than MSXA/MX^2?

Hm.. how about a waterfall mod?

I don't think bustercyl should be used with Dr.KT. Too heavy and long lol..

busterCYL can. but you need to learn how to control yourself and not spin CYL alld ay long.
i have arnolds personal mod, a f1r3fly g3, a MMX, a double smallcapped and grip ct, a CYL, a KT, and a twinart on "standby" at all times.can spin all of them well except for MMX and the double smallcapped CT.
there was once i spun CYL for 5 hours in a row.... couldnt spin a KT for 2 hrs after that.zzz

I like the concept, but some people learn faster than others. The times that you've set for each mod could be replaced by number of tricks learned maybe...

hmm...I think a better way to do this is to categorize them by the tricks they do like....pencil and bictory for the fundamentals and their reverses....and when they get to more advanced stuff like the inverses or fingerless versions, then they can start using an RSVP v1, v2, and an MX.

You could also put in pens that you might want to suggest when learning a trick such as baks or spin moves and all that. =)

Edit: I didn't see Missle Z's post ^^ sorry dude.

I started off with the RSVP MX and I used it for 4 straight months then after that I'm using the comssa without tips but I'm going to buy the tips later xD

this seems like a pretty concrete concept, but stuff like this is saying that kt is the absolute finals answer to pro pen spinning. Of course we know this is not true. of course we do not know how well this method will work unless someone actually tests it.
