General Discussion / Xero & JC's Pentel Project

Well, here's all the info you're gonna need to know above. It was meant for my YouTube channel, but the info provided should help.

    Spoiler:
    Q. Were these Pentel Pens meant to spin?
    A. No, the Pentel Recycology line was meant to promote recycling. These pens are made from recycled plastic, and most are recyclable themselves.

    Q. Can the Pentel Recycology pens be spun?
    A. Sure, but I would severely not recommend it. They sure as hell aren’t a RSVP MX. These pens were meant to “write” – a foreign concept to many of you, but hang in there.

    Q. “Expert pen spinners”? Who the hell are you kidding?
    A. Yes, I know that seems conceited but neither JC nor I put that there. We didn’t ask to be called that, either.

    Q. Why do these commercials suck?

    A. I wouldn’t go so far as to say they “suck”, but they could have been better. Neither JC nor I had any input in the post production element. We DID, however, have specific combos to be used, but for some reason or another, the editor did not use them. Here is what our manager said:

[My partner] and I had the same concerns, especially with the Cool Lines video. We're not sure why [the editor] cut them in this way, but at this point, we only have 3 days until the project is due, and [the editor] is having family problems AND he doesn't have a cell phone right now for some reason. Communication is seriously lacking with him, and we have no time to ask for redos.

    Q. Are these even going to be shown on TV?

    A. Not as far as I know. Honestly, I wouldn’t want them to be.

    Q. So then what the hell was the point of these videos?
    A. JC and I were requested for a marketing project for Pentel. This project centered on getting the word out for Pentel’s new line of pens.

    Q. Can I get in on the action?
    A. No. But you can help JC and me out!

    Q. So then what can I do?

    A. Tell your friends about this! We’re using the internet to our advantage here. It’s the easiest way to spread news nowadays. Join our Facebook Group, and subscribe/friend the YouTube account. And hell, why not actually buy some pens?

Xero and I did all this to help out 3 NYU students who are doing a marketing project. The project was issued by Pentel, in the form of a competition, to see which marketing student could create the best commercial for them advertising the recycology pens. Our "commercials" will be entered into this competition under the 3 NYU student's names and Pentel will judge depending on:
    1. the actual commercial
    2. how much they could spread the word of the products (this is found out through the amount of hits their site gets and how many people join their facebook group)

So if you guys join the facebook group and help further the awareness of their project, that includes Xero and I, in it... then we will have a higher chance of winning the marketing competition and their project will be a success.
As for if the winning team gets their commercial put on TV, i'm not entirely sure, but I do think that's part of the prize.

Like I said, it's not a "real commercial".
I know - I was telling John that I should have just fucking edited.
We are both a bit upset by that.
