Regular Pen Discussion / Does it matter if your pen has a clip on it?

I searched and couldn't find anything about it, so yeah... Anyways I just found out about pen spinning and it's really cool so I starting doing it. Right now I can just do the charge thing and I can get it to spin about two times, sometimes more. Anyways, so far the clip on my pencil(the little thing that you can use to hang pens from your shirt or something) hasn't gotten in my way, but I was watching some videos of pen spinners, and it looks like everyone has a clipless pen and it would get in the way a lot.
So does it matter if my pencil has a clip? Its like metal or something, so it wouldn't be real easy to rip it off, but this is the pencil I use for school, so getting out another pen during class just to spin seems like it would be a lot of work, instead of just spinning the pencil in your hand already.
So anyways, does it matter if your pen has a clip on it or not? If it does, I guess I'll bring my other one where the clip is already broken off, but it'd still be easier to just spin with the one I write with.
Also, I know this isn't the right place for this question, but I'm just going to put it here since I'm already making a topic. Can I just use an IRC client not in my browser to goto the IRC Chat? Java doesn't want to work with my Firefox, so I can't do it in the browser.
Thanks to anyone who helps. -

The clip doesnt really matter if you're just learning the fundamental tricks. It may get in the way but if you're not working on combos you will be fine.
And yes you can use irc clients instead of java. -

If it doesn't bother you, no need to change it, spin with the clip.

All right, thanks.
And I didn't see the IRC forum at the bottom, so I didn't know the server it was on. >_< Oh well, I got it working now, so thanks again.
