Lately, I have not been able to go on the computer lately because of my homework so I was wondering where I could go to print out pen spinning move descriptions and how to do pen spinning moves.

dude, reading about a trick aint gonna help
    just watch a trick

    and practice it

No offense, but I believe that you are wrong. I have learned shadow, sonic, thumaround, charge, and fingerpass all from reading. It's just I can't find anyplace where I can read to learn tricks anymore =(. I want to learn more advanced tricks through a nice explaination of words (reading) and videos (Visuals). I believe that a combination of reading and visuals will helps build a stronger sense of a trick(s).

I think SJ was getting at the point that watching videos of tricks is the best method to learn new tricks.
    For example, take double thumbaround.
Reading about that alone won't help you understand.
A video would help immensely when trying to perform the trick.
It is hard to describe the hand movement required to do the second fingerless thumbaround
Reading might help, but I'm sure if you had to choose one, a nice video/tutorial would be better.

you can print wiki articles or the old Pentix site.

I fail at reading written tutorials for tricks though. Not even pictures with arrows help too. Only a video can help me.

Yeah, watching how a trick is done helps me a lot more than reading about it.

I learned a trick from reading the wiki, which took me an hour to get. Showed it to a friend and he got it in 10 minutes.

I've learnt a lot of tricks from written tutorials with pictures. Written tutorials themselves are pretty hard to learn from, but it is still possible to do.

I dunno. I've never seen a video tut of someone doing a double TA, but I learned it.

I prefer to learn tricks with out the video.
I like to learn the concept, and work my way from there.
    Take the shadow.

When I first started PS, I saw it and thought it looked cool.
So I read it up on the wiki.
    Tried it.
    Failed.

Then I didn't really do much other than keep the concept in my mind, and then in a few days I could just do it. no hour long practice sessions, just thinking about how it would be done.

    agreed
    remember my 8-months combo, SJ?
everything i had learned up to that point was by text. everything.
because i didn't have a computer capable of playing videos for me to see.
that's why i didn't start filming until then

I never used a tutorial to learn something, only watched a couple of videos and tried it out myself. =/ No explaining, nothing.

Kudos to you though, Shadowserpant. o_O It must be pretty hard to learn things you've never even seen before.

yeah, watching a tutorial helped me a ton, like the fingerless thumbaround.
i learned it like...a long time ago.
i watched my friend show me, and i learned it in 10 minutes.

i tried fingerpass from reading on a website,
i tried forever, but then after a couple of weeks,
my friend told me i had it wrong, i wasnt doing the motion
    right.

    i dunno about this though.
    its different for some people
most of the ppl watch vids, but some ppl actually learn from written tutorials.
it depends on which of the person it is.
try out both and see which of the 2 u like. wink.gif

So... can anyone suggest where I can learn pen tricks? I need a site that shows me how to do many tricks (not like 6 moves...)
