To cut down on the massive amount of redundant threads asking for substitutes, colors, locations where a pen can be bought, etc. it's best to check here first before making a thread on it. I'm still in the process of consolidating all redundant threads into one.

Ahmm... (Forgive me if this be a wrong place for my topic)
Are the Lil' Hands Coloring Pens suitable for the body for an M&M KT or such?
I made a mod using some...
Pilot SuperGrip Grips
Some random Pen Caps (Not sure what they're called)
2 Lil' Hands Coloring Pens (Blue and Brown. Oh man, I shoulda used pink ) )
The Mod is still crappy but long...
don't know its dimensions (length, COG, etc...)
EDIT: here's the link to a photo
My Home Made M&M (?)
can someone please help? -
Date: Sat, Feb 21 2009 01:05:01
ive never seen that pen before
attach it to some kt caps and see if it holds well -
Date: Sat, Feb 21 2009 04:48:13
that's good (no one hasn seen it before... )
i think the cover of the pen (the blue and the brown) are a bit too long.
and I don't have bucks to buy kt caps. I'm in the philippines...
huhuhuhuhu..... -

How do you expect use to know if we havent seen the pen/ had the pen/ and you arent able to get KT caps...
the only way that it is a kt body sub is if it is the same length and the kt caps fit on. -
Date: Mon, Feb 23 2009 04:06:26
just cut the caps to the length that you want and add some grips to it and voila!
-

That will only make the mod shorter, not a well-substituted KT.
@Topic starter, the no one can answer your question if no one has ever seen that pen before. Listen to Stevie.

As far as my knowledge goes, the rsvp razzle dazzle will still have the black ball in the cap, while the black rsvp color will not. -

Why is it that most of the pens we want (dong-a computer sign pen, ohto needle points, pentel color twins, and others) can't be bought on their company's site? I went to dong-a's site, no computer sign pen. I went to Pentel's international store; no color twin, watercolor pen, or keityos. I went to Ohto's official site, no needle point.
I bet if I go to other sites and try to find other modding pens, they won't have it. These companies have it on the shelves, but they don't even distribute them online. -

The companies cannot sell in small quantites because, well, its just a total waste of their time.
They would have to hire a division to take care of that, set up the website, have a money system implimented there... and a ton of other things.
Instead, they sell in large quantities (boxes, crates) to save money, and get more product out at once.
just like how you cant buy singular chocolates from nestle's website -

But when i go to their official sites, the don't even sell a pack of a type of modding pen (ex: I went to Pentel's official site; no watercolor pens or color twins were being displayed.) -

If you want to buy boxes of pens, you'd have to set up an order with them.
im sure if you phoned them theyd send you a catalogue.
You do realize boxes mean thousands right?
the point is that they wont just sell to any joe shmo.
They want their product to get out there, in large amounts. -

From personal experience, because its barrel is too thick.
Note that this may not be correct as other reasons, for example being too heavy or long, may factor into this reason.

You have to stretch them slightly.
Its mean to hold the dr.grip tip to the cap, its not gonna fit on lightly.
PLUS its alot easier to fit on if you cut it like you're supposed to for a dr.kt

I'm not sure if you posted this in the right thread but I don't know. You're from the U.S. so it shouldn't be hard to find those they should be at most regular stores i.e. Office Max, Office Depot, Staples, Walmart. Most places that sell pens should have it. I don't think that there is just an easy sub for it at all.

ayatori mod spins similar to a double sided mod, and so does a kUzu. Those 2 pens may be good to transition from double sided to single sided, although the kUzu is really heavy. -

the inverse seven (like TEKs ?) is usually using a lightgrey laknock grip... which is from a real grey laknock.
The white opaque grip IS from a sub pen/pencil, although i have no idea as to what it looks like. -

A tinted american jimnie is a tinted hyperjell, easy to imagine.
A japanese janmee aka jap. jimnie is actually called Zebra Jimnie Classic.
It has the other style clip that makes entirely decliping the cap extremly similar to a G3.
which makes for a smooth nice cap afterwards. -
Date: Mon, Feb 8 2010 14:59:27
Yeah it is just identical just tinted and non tinted. It is really awkward that normal tinted jimnies are still widely available and that the non tinted ones are getting more rare doesn't seem to be a production advantage of any kind.

Well my fischer scale busted so on my not scientific scale it says the bp is 5 g and gel is 4 g. so i'm guessing the gel is close to dr.grip tip weight and the Bp is 1 g heavier will get better number when scale is fixed/new scale.

1. You know the pen company name: Pentel
2. You know the general size/features/grip+tip shapes
3. You know the model #: K-186
4. Theres this funny website called "Google", which can find absolutely anything if you input information.

They're New HGR.
Not really sure how he got them in the bellcolor caps, because HGR tips fit into comssa caps, but bellcolor caps don't hold them, they don't fit in. He might have used a dremel to widen the top of the cap, or maybe he filed them down.
Honestly, you'd have to ask TEK, and He never replies to PM's involving mods, so hope you catch him in the SB.

Yes I have noticed this. And I'm pretty sure all digno tips are the same, but the older ones have this metal band texture thing. -

I honestly HATE G3 ink.
It smudges, and I'm a righty, it leaks, it dries up, it stops writing and skips, I think it just sucks horsecock.
I personally find Needlepoint or Hi Tec C to have the best ink I've even touched. -

take a lighter, and wave it back and forth a couple of times to get the ink running to the tip, may work permanently, may work temporarily -

Use pliers, to hold onto the metal thing, twist it anti-clockwise until the metal thing unscrewed off then slide off the grip -

one speaks fluent french, and the other speaks broken japanese.
but in all seriousness, they're pretty much the same.
there are some small differences, but the tip weight, and the grip is virtually the same -

Actually,Japanese Dr Grip Tips are heavier.
Try a Japanese Tipped Ryo KT and a French Tipped Ryo KT.
The difference,is obvious. -

For a comssa body, if you were to cut it with scissors, would there be a chance that you might crack the comssa body if you used force?
If there is a chance I will weaken it with a knife first before i cut it >< -
Date: Sun, May 9 2010 02:41:57
don't use scissors or knives, you'll just ruin the body, x-acto knives should give you a clean cut if you do it correctly

I just wanted to cut the tip off for K4S's Retractable Flex Mx
And Fyi, I don't have any tools such as xacto knives. All I have are kitchen knives and very sharp scissors -

If its just the tip, it should be fine. Just do it carefully.
-
Date: Thu, May 13 2010 01:34:32
xacto is the best.
it's worth buying.
but a knife will work fine.
don't use scissors, they'll fuck it up; they're not a good modding tool.
especially for grips -
Date: Sun, May 16 2010 04:00:29
can you tell what is better.. in spinning, modding, etc
-
Date: Sun, May 16 2010 04:07:31
G3s are more commonly used for famous Japanese personal mods. (Because G3s are easier to find in Japan)
But you have to cut the barrel in almost every mod you make out of them.
Most RSVP mods don't require barrel cutting that have as much room for error as G3s do. -
Date: Sun, May 16 2010 04:25:16
I like R.S.V.P's more for spinning because the body is long, therefore you have more spinning space.
-
Date: Sun, May 16 2010 05:03:35
TBH I think there should be more RSVP mods than G3. The body is all round better :/
-
Date: Sun, May 16 2010 05:15:55
Both pens are really useful in modding. You cant really choose between these two mods.
If there were no G3's then there would be no Minwoo Mod, no Key3, no kuzu, no seven etc etc
If there were no RSVP's there would be no Mx, no Impact Mx, no Msxa etc -
Date: Sun, May 16 2010 05:34:17
G3's are better for tip stacking since the tip is wider, the under grip area is wider and the tip also unscrews. The G3 also has a more versatile back as it can fit most caps and does not take up as much space as the RSVP back plug. The G3 also has a metal tip version and the caps are very useful too as it can hold bigger tips/more grip than an RSVP cap.

how about the body?? spinning space, texture??

Date: Sun, May 16 2010 06:48:12QUOTE (Vaan @ May 16 2010, 02:56 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>how about the body?? spinning space, texture??
similar texture
g3 is thicker thou
the g3 spinning space is actually longer, but since the cap goes onto the barrel most of the time it is shorter but not always depends on how far on you place the cap -
Date: Mon, May 17 2010 01:28:03
really i use a knife for grips?
