dude, there's even less ppl in the summer. everybody's gone on vacations at some point. every summer there's always at least one thread saying there's no activity on the board or whatever. Right now is the perfect time the ppl are most active.
Pen Spinning is a hobby closely associated with school, when school is off, ppl stop spinning. -

Yeah, I remember mentioning that earlier. WT would be better at a time when spinners have more time. Also gives them something to do in the summer.QUOTEmy only two issues are charlie and 12ve losing. other than that I guessed most of it.

@ charlie i agree that both ur combo and wcy's were close but i think wcy had more of a wow factor to it -

Woah... man JEB was annihilated and so was PDS. Thaispinner is still going strong so congratz to them.
I expected most of the results except for Meteor. My heart sank when i saw that he lost.
oh well, I just hope that UPSB makes it into the later rounds. good luck guys!

for a long tournament like this, you need a huge block of time where you know for sure ppl are not leaving anywhere.
during the summer, almost everybody go on a trip for a few weeks. This means most ppl can't participate, cuz that means they might have to miss one round along they way, so they cant even enter.
you would need people who are at home for the whole summer... there's not that many.
during school, ppl can't leave cuz they have school, so at least you know they're home all the time. -

I dont dont agree with many of that results
Meteor should have won. Well A13x had difficult conts, but overall Metoer just had a better Combo structure, more Style and more Innovation.
I also dont agree with the loss of Neophine: Katix wasn't too good, but that my subjective opinnion.
And I'm suprised of seeing Skonix winning: His Style is awesome, but the Combo wasn't really good: simple ending and not innovative, i saw him better at FPSB tournament.Rafe with cool Illusions/Isolations O.o
I wish that 3shine would have won: Spinnerpeems Combo was for me just Spam to prepare for a wtf-ending
All in all no good Round, but I'm happy about seeing Baoo and Skonix in Round 2

january to may = 5 months

I've been expecting that results would be a little bit other, but I can agree with these ones
It's a big disadvantage of WT that in the next round there are less spinners in every next round 'cos I really wanna see more combos from Rex, 12ve, x1213 and Meteor They were awesome (as always ), but they have very strong opponents in this round
But WT '09 go on!!!
I'm waiting for much more great combos from Spinnerpeem, s777, BaoO, Vic, ChauTran, Answer, Rarka...
I hold in high respect Eriror, Fratleym, Minwoo... They are amazing pro spinners but I'm really not delighted with their styles... -

the results are ok all in all,
- Stuhl won
- good that Spinnerpeem and s777 made it
- Neopine lost , Katix combo was really not better .. hmpf but ok
- Meteor lost out of the tournament with the best combo in round 1 incredible, one second over the limit is the only explanation I have
but round 1 was good, I liked it

before anyone complains "WHYHAS A LOWER SCORE THAN IN ANOTHER BATTLE?!"
please remember that only the RELATIVE score matters, that is the score of one against another one in the same match is important.
this is because it's very difficult for a judge to remember all 64 videos in his head and their ranking is impossible, so it's very easy to give someone in a match a higher score than someone else in another match. They would have to go through all the scores and readjust all the matches so that every 64 videos can ranked in order.
having 1vs1 matches essentially simplify the process for judges in that they have to compare one video vs another video only, and not all 64 at once, which is why absolute scores are meaningless in this case.
if you're going to complain about the scores make sure you keep this in mind.
the only interesting fact in these details is by how much someone lost in his respective battle, that's all.
highest scorer of the round and all that stuff doesn't mean much.
