what will happen??

I am taking a plane to New Mexico soon, and I saw this advertisement for a pen that 'wouldn't leak in flight'. Does that mean my normal MX would get all inky in my bag if I took it on a plane? What can I do to prevent this from happening?

    I doubt it.

Just to be safe, remove the inktube.

lmao, i see wut you did thar ._.

I've taken my mods onto a plane before and they all still worked just fine afterwards. I would recommend against taking a mod that DOES NOT write because it's a weapon in the eyes of security (eg. Don't bring a dr.KT on board...it's a plastic tube with stabby metal tips on each end to non-pen spinners.)

The changes in pressure can make the ink drip, when you take off the pen cap make sure it's upright.

Anything may be considered a weapon if you think about it. rotfl.gif

im saying this from personal expirence, bring w/e pens you want to mexico. but dont take out your best pens on the plane. only spin your worst and most unvaluable pen. cause once, i dropped mine while the pen was boarding, and i almost lost it D:
luckily, 16 hours after the plane landed, i found it again, where it rolled 7 rows ahead of me. D:

I just took a package of pencils and didn't pick any up when I dropped them.

Good advice though, pens will roll away from you in a plane and it can be difficult to find them, I would advise against spinning mods on planes personally

I've taken many different kinds of pens on the plane with me. Never been a problem with either security or the cabin pressure change.
    I think you'll be fine.

Yes... most of those pens that say they are good for airplanes are moreso for writing WHILE on the airplane...
it usually just means it has a pressurized ink cartridge...so it doesnt need gravity to feed (can write upside down, underwater, in space, etc)
like the fisher space pen in BaliYo's.

sorry for the spam but i can't with hold myself

i'm sick of these muthafucking pens on this muthafucking plane

alright, my urges are fulfilled XD

just take a ballsign mod, it wont leak, you can't stab with it and in my case, i'll be going to japan so i can get millions more there XD
and definitely no razor kts or x-acto mx's XD

I think I'll remove the ink and put it in a ziplock baggie just to be safe smile.gif

I've gone on a bunch of international and domestic flights in the past couple of years with PDS cases full of KTs, MXs, Comssa Metallics, and other pens. I've never had ink leak or stop running because of the plane.

Also, I've never been questioned about the mods, except once going from paris home the guy asked what they were, so I pulled one out that I had bic ink in, removed the cap and showed him, and he let it go.

So I traveled, but left the ink at home, just in case (it's the only mod I like to spin with, it would be a shame to get it messed up).

When you ship pens overseas it doesn't leak, no?

I don't see any trouble with bringing your pen on a plane. =]]

i took my mod on a plane on a domestic flight, didn't get questioned at security or anything...even though it was in an empty drink bottle. xD and it had metal tips

    hk spinner

    is that real?

  23. G.lanz
    Date: Mon, Feb 23 2009 16:29:41

@HKspinner: I saw that too, on Uni's website. that's the original reason I was worried about taking my pen on a plane, because if there are pens made for flying, than normal pens must not be suitable, right?

Me too i took RSVP MX, Comssa, and Bictory on plane and none of those leaked, i also spun with them dropped one underneath my seat, (also dropped painkillers) and had to unbuckle (did it right after we took off and seatbelt sign was still on biggrin.gif) had to get on hands and knees to get it. My dad was like what the heck is he doing . My mom said i dropped my painkillers and had to get them before they rolled away.

I brought a pencil case onto the plane b4. It contained Pens, a glue, a pair of sharp scissors, stapler... etc. And I managed to cross the gantry smoothly. ^^ so i doubt dr kt will be banned.

I'd recommended not spinning on the plane. If u drop the pen and it rolls everywhere, you're in deep shit.
