So, I just check out the videos in Battlezone and watched some collabs. There's something I am wondering about, is it me or the videos in Battlezone is better than the videos they put in collabs? The videos in BZ(Battlezone) looks more smooth, faster and harder combinations. Is it because they only do their best in battles? Well, that's it. What do you think??

When you battle someone you want to make sure you put out a good video so you can beat the other person. When you make a video for a collab sometimes you might not want to spend too much time so you just throw a combo together and submit it.

    ...in before lock!

Yeah what K4S said. prolly they just want people to say, "You better watch out, you might not want to battle me" or "Could you beat this?" Something like that. But most likely to beat the person that they're going to battle. biggrin.gif

It's a shame that people are willing to put more effort into a combo for a battle to boost their ego, rather than into a collab combo which presents pen spinning to the whole community, to other communities, and to non-pen spinners too.

I agree with you, in a way. But everyone wanted to beat their opponent/foe, so it's normal. But then like you said, collab combos presents pen spinning to communities and non-pen spinners(Which can get them into Pen spinning).

Simple explanation: self-interest beats community interests. There are less incentives to do a good combo for a collaboration than a battle. huh.gif

Just look at the turn in rate for the Official UPSB collab: only 4 people sent in their combos in time. Now look in the BZ, how many people miss their deadlines there?

    It's kind of sad I think :/

It's the nature of the beast, you best motivated by your own interests. That's why capitalism is devised in such a way that the self-interests of the producers overlap with ones of the consumers... this is nothing new.

...unless we started having collab video competitions scratchchin.gif

though this just might piss off the people who hate how frequently collabs get released.

could it be that it's because we release so many collabs, that they don't feel as important anymore?
which leads to the lack of effort.

isn't collab video competitions basically filtering? just the only difference is that everyone's your opponent.
i mean, maybe not but it's sort of related. dry.gif

but it's a good way to get people more into a collab.
