Anybody else into this, I know that Shoeman has been doing it because he was in the ucpsb manipulations collab (and Michael but he's kinda inactive). I started it a few days ago when I was bored and decided that it would probably improve my PS, so I went to handhealth (because I had known about Xtreme Digits for a while) then I searched youtube, and all of the videos were on there. It's growing on me fairly quickly and I wanted to know if there were any other people who do this.

This is the youtube channel with all the video tutorials by Greg Irwin.

I'm just starting to get the hang of cross thrus.

I wanted to open a thread about XTreme Digits too and my "XTreme Digits history" is exactly as yours!

    100% agree.

So, yes, I'm doing it and I searched people who do it too but the most said "ah, no, looks gay" or "wtf? no". Good to hear that you (and shoeman) do it, I thought I'm alone with it. happy.gif

Problems: My left hand, especially the ringfinger. Need to train this finger because some tricks with the ringfinger looks just weird at the moment.

btw: I searched for a forum too, but I havn't found one, maybe superhandz? But I don't like the superhandz forums, they look so messy not clear. :/

it might be messy but thats the only place greg irwin himself would answer your questions smile.gif

for training my ring finger to be more independent I like the pencil push-ups exercise.. i can do it both hands and from index to pinkie and the other way around.. if you're on the bus and you dont want to drop your pen by spinning it just do the exercise..

I've actually found that it's not too hard for my fingers to do most of the exersizes. When I do bends fairly slowly (a seconds break between each bend) all of my fingers move independently. I was practicing cross-thrus most of today, I'm not sure how Xtreme Digits notation works (or if they have it), but I do i with 1 23 4 and switch to 12 34. Cross thrus are by far the best.

@Shoeman, yeh I saw that place ages ago, that's where i heard of handhealth. Never really started it til now.

How long have you been doing Xtreme Digits?

I wanted to ask something at the handlorz forum, so I wanted to register but they wanted my name, postal code etc. I'm very careful with such things so I havn't registerd yet.

Maybe some guys here can post it there or can answer my question here.

    Hi guys!

Is there any official XD tricknaming? I know that there are names for the trickarts on the XB DVD (folds, splits, shuffle etc.) but is there a kind of "breakdown" which you can write to others so they exactly know what you do?

Like "f1-f2 -> f3-f4" for fold the first two finger and then fold the third and fourth.

    or

"s1-b3-b4 -> "s4-b1-b2" for split finger 1, bend finger three and two and after this split finger 4 and bend finger 1 and 2

or are there any "breakdown" for Finger Dancing? It could be like the thing above but with time specification that you know how long you have to split finger xy and bend finger z or fold finger xy and tap finger z.

I think Shoeman should be able to ask seeing as he's already registered. He might already know dunno.gif

    P.S. practicing finger wave.

split, bend, fold, tap, push, shuffle, cross thrus, cross over touches and spins.

thats all the exercises there is from Greg.. (cross over touches wasn't taught anywhere but it showed in one of his superhandz videos and spins is something that was never seen at all I believe..)

the closest thing to a breakdown I saw was this from Greg

    QUOTE
    First finger - BEND
    Second finger - FOLD
    Third finger - TAP
    Fourth finger - FOLD

(this is all done at the same time btw) since you cant shuffle, cross thru, cross over touch at the same time with anything else.. i guess the best thing will be to shorten only the split, bend, fold, tap and push to S, B, F, T and P.. naming cross thrus is too complicated i think.. shuffle and cross over touches would have their own system,, anyway i'm sure this has never been done before and I dont really see to much of a point to it since not many are talking about such exercises so widely anyway..

If you enjoy Greg's stuff, you should check out his new DVD, titled "Finger Fitness: The Advanced Finger Fitness Guide".

His first video/DVD was cool...but this one is absolutely insane. He introduces a new family of moves called "Spin", and also shows his advanced stuff...which just blows your mind.

Some of the stuff involves doing two different moves at the same time. And just when I thought I was getting those down...I see him doing 4 different moves at the same time o_O

So, if you're getting good at his previous material, you should definitely check out his new DVD. I highly recommend it.
