I'd say that it depends more on how the mod looks more than how good your camera is. If you have great modding skills, good camera, and good photoshop skills, *coughTEKcough*, then your mods will look freakin' sexy. Just like how they do in real life.

it all depends on how you want your vid to look. in some cases, a poor camera would give you an effect that you want (like what Greekpen said). If you are making a tutorial, you would want to use a good camera.

isn't that because he's pen isn't appealing in the first place? I thought he spins some wierd white mod. I'm not sure what he spins right now. -

cam quality isn't usually good enough to see finer details of mod anyway, but a really bad camera will make spinning look worse...

Then it's depending on your style , RYO and Areso have a good cam so the spinning effect and smoothness just WOW ..

A good high resolution camera picture will always look better than one taken with a 1.3 megapixel webcamera. Of course it's going to add to the overall product. The thing with pens is that the mod's aesthetics are only as good as it's presented. If that means spending an hour touching up the photo, getting multiple angles, multiple pictures, etc, in the end it pays off when presenting a pen. The only downside to the high-res camera is that imperfections will show much more blatantly. Things such as a uneven grip cut or a scratch on the rsvp. In a way, a better camera can really be a benefit, but it can also be a hurtful object if the mod isn't as cleanly made.

Taking 30 minutes in Photoshop to clean up a pen/organize it can go a long way. -
