the following is a VERY rough draft for the layout of a competition that Jetpens wants to hold. They have asked specifically for help in the judging department. Any feedback from the pen spinning community would be greatly appreciated.

JetPens Pen Spinning Contest
Rules:
1. Videos submitted must be new videos created for the JetPens Spinning Contest. To verify this, please have a hand written sign saying "JetPens Spinning Contest Submission" at the beginning of the video.
2. To be in the competition, you must submit one video for the general round and one video if chosen as a finalist to advance to the final round.
2. Contest is a singles (i.e. one person) competition.
3. No minimum video length, maximum video length is 1 minute.
Either email your video to us or email a link to an uploaded file.
Please include your spinner name and your community (if affiliated with one. i.e. UCPSB, Pendolsa, etc.)
Prizes:
Finals 1st Place Winner - $50 JetPens gift certificate
Finals 2nd and 3rd Place Winners - (each will receive a Pendolsa Luminous Pen Set)
Semi-Finals - 20 semi finalists (each will receive a Pendolsa White Mod 4 Pen Set)
Judging:
Guest Judges from UCPSB, ? and JetPens will be reviewing the videos.
1st round based on difficulty level, style, smoothness,
2nd round based on all of above + creativity
Points given 1-10 for each aspect by each judge, final is avg of points

* No purchase is necessary to enter the contest. Contest starts __ and ends 8/8/07. All new videos that fit the above requirements are eligible. To enter, submit or upload a video for judges to view. Maximum two entries per person. Odds of winning depend on the number of entrants. Submissions will be reviewed by judges and winners will be notified by email to progress to the final round. Prizes will be in the form of electronic JetPens gift certificates to redeemed at JetPens.com. Happy spinning!

This thread was released publically in UCPSB but has not been here? I couldn't find it by searching.
I really think if we want competitions like this in future, we need a very good turn-in rate for this one. Jetpens was willing to give prizes for 23 people, so I guess this means they are expecting like 50+ submissions? Let's not let them down. -

yessir, a large variety would be best
