Here's my tutorial for a MP Comssa Metallic. Enjoy^^

Note: You will probably have to adjust some things through little measurements, I'm just giving the ones I used.

    Stats:
Length: If done correctly, same length as a Comssa Metallic (which is ~20.4 cm)
Weight: Comssa Metallic < MP Comssa Metallic < MX2
    COG = COP
Cost: $2 more to a comssa metallic

    What You Need:
1 Comssa Metallic (1 Double Capped Comssa, 2 HGG Tips)
    1 HGG Back Plug
    1 G2 MP
1 Extra Lead tube (Roughly the same diameter as the G2 MP Lead Tube)

    Tools:
Tape (Packaging, and Electrical(Best way to balance))
    Scissors
X-Acto Knife (Or something to clear out Comssa Caps)
Hacksaw (Or something to cut barrels)

    Tutorial:

    Comssa Caps:
    Hollow out both caps:
    Before: http://i691.photobucket.com/albums/vv277/C...sa/IMG_0061.jpg

    After: http://i691.photobucket.com/albums/vv277/C...sa/IMG_0062.jpg

    Comssa Body:

    Step 1:
Take apart the comssa, throw away the inktube and felt tip. Save the back plug.

    Step 2:
Cut the front of the Comssa off, leaving 1 cm remaining.

    G2 MP

    Step 1:
    Disassemble the G2 MP Body:

    Step 2:
Sand down the tip so that the HGG tip fits over, with the lead guide pipe flush to the edge of the HGG tip
    Sanded down: http://i691.photobucket.com/albums/vv277/C...sa/IMG_0059.jpg

    HGG Tip over: http://i691.photobucket.com/albums/vv277/C...sa/IMG_0060.jpg

    Step 3:
Cut G2 MP body, so that there is 0.5 cm remaining, not including the threads. (The cut should be on the part that was under the grip)

    Comssa Back Plug:
Drill/Cut a hole in the middle, wide enough for the extra lead tube to slide through with little resistance

    Lead Tube:
Take the G2 MP Lead tube, and the extra Lead Tube. Tape them together.
If you really need a picture: http://i691.photobucket.com/albums/vv277/C...sa/IMG_0064.jpg

    Back HGG Tip
Take the HGG tip, and screw it onto the HGG back plug:
Once again, if you really need a picture: http://i691.photobucket.com/albums/vv277/C...sa/IMG_0069.jpg

    Assembly:

    Step 1:
Using Packaging Tape, Tape the G2 MP piece to the Comssa Body (Make sure not to put packaging tape on the G2 MP tip)

    Step 2:
Unscrew the G2 MP tip, and put the extended Lead Tube in. Screw back on the G2 MP tip, with the HGG tip over it.

    Step 3:
Place the Comssa Back plug with the hole on the back, making sure that the extended tube goes through the hole.

    Step 4:
Place the hollowed out comssa caps on.

    Step 5:
Cut the Extended inktube so the the HGG back plug + Tip lines up with the rear cap edge, like in a normal comssa metallic. Add some tape to make sure the Back plug stays on tight.
    Without the cap: http://i691.photobucket.com/albums/vv277/C...sa/IMG_0070.jpg

    With the cap: http://i691.photobucket.com/albums/vv277/C...sa/IMG_0078.jpg

    Complete:

    FAQ:

    Q: This mod rattles!
A: Add some tape around the HGG back plug, enough so that it is slightly thicker than the base of the HGG tip

Q: The Comssa Cap won't fit over the G2 MP front. Why?
A: Sand down the sides of the G2 MP tip.

Q: How did you hollow out the comssa caps?
A: Cut through the struts with an X-Acto Knife. Shave down the remainder carefully.

Can the G2 MPs be subbed for Super grip MPs? They look identical imo.

Yep. They're pretty much the same pencil, the only difference is the clip on the back.

Also, G2 MP's only come in black, while Super Grips come in clear and opaque colors.

Any MP that has a plastic tip and a thin lead tube should work... off the top of my head:

    Pentel ICY
    Pentel Champ
    G2 MP
    Super Grip MP
Baaron's MP Sub (THis was actually used in the prototype)

    Easy to make  clap.gif
just a tip, u can use pilot 2020 to make this too^^. IMO i prefer 2020, cuz when you tape it you can take out the mechanism inside first

    Its not that difficult really.
what part do you find difficult?
    Maybe we can help smile.gif

For the comssa cap drilling, you just have to be patient,
Use a small drill bit on slowspeed, or carefull use a xactoknife to cut at the cap.
Slow and steady, and you should be able to do it.

There has never been an easy way to hollow out comssa caps... it's slow and steady. I take atleast 15 minutes on each comssa cap hollowing them out carefully. Using X-acto knives, here's a good tutorial from UCPSB:

    QUOTE
here is where joshua brightened all of our lives by showing us that it is in fact possible to do step 2 with an x-acto knife. he started by sawing through the support struts close to the nub in the cap. after the nub was removed, he very carefully removed the remainder of the support struts. this effectivley eliminates much of the dangerous portion of this mod. this method, while safer, can be more difficult for those without a genuine x-acto knife or sufficient skill with one. When i tried, i ended up with small slashes along the inside rim of the cap.

If using powertools, do what Stevie said and go slowly... this requires alot of patience.

In the end I managed to hollow one cap and I used it for my retractable Comssa.
    If I could get one more cap I would make this mod because I already have the materials for it ;-;

Is there a way to do this mod so the person doesn't have to empty out two caps?

NOpe, the struts are much stronger than the ones on a M&M cap. YOu're more likely to just destroy the cap doing that.

How does the clicking part work?
I've never owned a mp mod.
    Never seen how it works.
Can anyone explain to me please?

Such as : does the tip go in or does the whole cap move?

My guess would be that the whole cap moves, since the hgg is stuck in the comssa cap.

Correct me if I'm wrong plz.

nope, just the tip moves, if you read the tutorial. You hollow out the back cap, and then the tip can move up and down.

Hmm nice mod, Spins great, but do you have any tips for getting the mech out of the g2 mp?
Also, is there any quick way to file the tip down?

Very nice mod! I'd add some grips onto those caps if I was you, make it have a bit more jam grin.gif Does anybody know a pen available in the US that'll work as a good comssa computer sign pen substitute? I'm just tryin' to look for something I can get more conveniently than going onto Penwish and getting the actual ones.

It's not a really front heavy, as long as you add enough tape to the back. There really isn't any faster method than the sanding, so sit down, and get started. If I get the parts, I may release the V.2 tutorial, which only needs 1 comssa cap hollowed out...

First time I hollowed a comssa cap I used a needle and my muscles only. I spent hours tongue.gif
Why haven't anyone commented on the sanding part? It takes forever. *ratch* *ratch* *ratch* *ratch* *bored* *bored*.

Well, For this mod, The G2 MP is pretty much a crappy pencil for MP mods. Use a Pentel Icy/Champ, The mod noticeably less front heavy, and No sanding at all is required.
