-Sign-ups closed.
This tournament will include double battles as welll as normal battles. The real format will be thought of when everybody knows how many teams will be participating.
~> There might be prizes but only if there will be enough people to actually sponsor prizes. (Which means there must be prizes for more than one team)
~> A spinner can only be in ONE team.

So yeah. I have no clue what is out there. This thread is just to gather information so that we can THEN make the rules based on interest/participation/number of members.

Look:
What if it would follow the WC rules. Allowing only 6 spinners from each team, while 4 battle per round.
But then it turns out that 95% of the teams have 10 or more people in them...so you could make more battles.
So basically...

This is a thread about a TEAM tournament, not doubles, not singles, not triplets, not about monkeys singing and spinning- A TEAM TOURNAMENT!

About Genesis, have you thought about that they might not participate or send their best spinners? There is a WT going on out there...
About the WC rules, I would agree and expand them a little, like very team has 3-4 singles and 1-2 doubles.Also this is depending on the size of the teams participating, how long this will last and also how the next stage will be like.
I would say a house type of tournament. If you have 8 teams (realy big number of teams) then do 2 houses with 4 each, 2 teams advancing from each house and so on...
Less and maybe split it into 3 and 3, with the best 2 battling it out and numbers 3 and 4 competing for 3rd place. -

I would suggest we see what teams are even interested in this tournament, then decide how it will work.
Trying to decide now is like trying to announce a winner before the tournament has even started.
Also- judging should be secret, like in the WC, flaming and personal influence is a bitch in competitions. -

was clearly established this was an optional /in tournament, and most "serious" teams on UPSB are diverse so race still a crap thing to say

Um... can you put up two divisions? I know we're only supposed to post team info, but I feel like that if there is a noob/intermediate division and a competitive division, people would be more likely to join.

that would really ruin the point of having a team tournament i don't see any olympic events divided by skills, so why should upsb teams do that. it'll be more competitive since there could be some underdog teams.

Special Olympics, Junior Olympics, Paraylympics... etc...
The problem is that there will be only so many competitive teams... You could have a bracket for teams like AntiBusterCYL and Girls Team. -

Well if we refuse to allow teams from other communities, and we don't have enough teams, the only solution I see is to divide the teams up and have an individual tournament? It would be more fair for participants anyways considering the variety of participant numbers.....But this is Frip's tournament, and he can do what he wants.

how do you guys wanna do this?
straight up single elim? double elim? pooled?
depends how much time and judges you got. single elim is 3 rounds. double elim doubles the number of vids and adds 1 round. pooled could faster or slower depending how u do it
team vs team? all teams vs all teams (WC08 round 1 style)? FFA? hybrid?
1vs1 matches? 2vs2? 4vs4?
vanilla battles? themed? -

And the way I think of it right now is Pool style.. Group A + B Group B. First 2 of eacvh group move on to semi-finals
And if the 'loser' teams agree, they can do the same for a loser's cup -

Cool! 8 teams... anyways, I was thinking if you actually went to the other boards and recruited teams, you would have enough for like two levels of competition... although some teams would be unstoppable (Vengeance)

8 teams is enough imo,
no need to invite more teams, or it'll be too long and too hard to manage.
imo it should be 4 spinners each round, whatever extra spinners you got are backup, but every round you only have 4 spinners registered. -

I will see over the teams and if possible, raise that amount to 5 spinners per round. Since this is mostly about fun and testing everybody should get a chance to spin
And teams don't worry about the EXACT line-up for now... important is that you will stay with the same amount of spinners..
@All teams who suddenly want to participate:
If there are TWO teams joining we can have 5 teams per group.. that would take longer.. but it would still work -
