Just a quick question that came to mind. I usually spin better when people are not looking, but that is just me tongue.gif

it depends... if its like somebody that you hate and is making fun of you while watching you, that can get a little annoying
if it is just some random dude watching i dont really care...
if its nobody watching i dont care either lol

    Aight, here goes:

If you're spinning at school and people stare at you like WTF?! then it's kinda annoying. It's kinda why I don't really spin at school, mainly cuz it's a big school and there are some jerks that make fun of weird people or 'unique' hobbied people.

If you're spinning in front of a live audience and being graded on it (eg PDS tourneys or JEB live tourney), then it gets intimidating. If I were there, my hands would get sweaty as hell and I wouldn't be able to pull off a TA. I don't know how peem just pulls off insane busts and stuff at live events. o.O

And people watching me film for collabs and stuff, I don't like it. I don't even like it when Baaron looks. I hate pressure. So, for me, I spin better when nobody's looking. Some people may spin better, iunno.

it doesn't really matter who i'm being watched by, my level just drops in general.

peem is too consistent ohmy.gif he did bust x 17 at PDS meeting...(which leads me to believe his personal record may well be 100+ now)

I think my level goes down. The nerves do it. I can imagine for some however, the adrenaline may help.

    Handy Tips ->
    Remember, God is always watching.

Sometimes, I go into this phase where I forget everything around me, and spin as if I'm all alone and everything goes well. This is only for a short period though, like 1 or 2 minutes. It's totally random, I can't force it.

But overall, I get a little nervous when people are watching. I just try to think of all the cool stuff I can do on cam, and that helps... Because people who are watching are basically just webcams... Heh. The only problem is when I try to do things that I can't get consistant.

Why no option for spinning the same whether or not people are watching?
As far as I can tell, I spin the same.

    There is null...

I try to put more variety in my spinning if I know people are watching, but I probably spin the same skill wise

If I'm doing it for my own entertainment and someone looks, I do simple stuff so I don't look like I'm showing off. I dunno. I have problems.

If I'm showing someone, though, I'll probably try some harder tricks and fail. biggrin.gif

I tend to spin worse when people are watching. I can hardly do anything under pressure.

I am horrible when people are watching, I drop so much.

same here. lol this guy who sucked at psing was using
a metal slurpee straw, and then he told me to ps for
EVERYONE to watch, and then i went halfway through
my combo and started getting nervous and then i messed
up and dropped it a ton. (metal slurpee straws make a loud
*PING* when theyre dropped, so a ton of ppl heard it) sad.gif

I once tried to show bakfall to my friends, and I failed it four times before I did it, but after my friends left, I can do it much, much better...

It depends on whose watching. In class, if random watch me spin, i fuck up so much. But when i was in a gathering in january, i was fine when people were looking at me. I think its because everyone else was spinning as well.

  16. Josh_man
    Date: Mon, Mar 16 2009 16:47:48

if a random person is watching me i try to add variety to keep there attention or i just only focus on the spinning and forget about everything around me.
me and a bud at school sometimes have little battles and we let the people in our classes be the judge. when ever we do that i mess up on baks <.< and baks only

  17. Kari
    Date: Mon, Mar 16 2009 18:08:21

I think it depends. If someone is watching me, I don't mind really. If someone says something about it to me, I can't spin as well because I know more people in my classes watch when someone opens their mouth about it. I have even been asked to do a como in front of the class. Surprisingly, the two classes I did do it in, I didn't make a single mistake on my combo. If people gather around me, I can't spin. If someone pulls out a camera and starts filming (Which has happened), I can't spin. If I have my music playing, I can't tell if people are talking about it so I spin better. Like I said, it really depends.

  18. chrisPS
    Date: Tue, Mar 17 2009 04:37:47

it depends really on who's watching me...

since PSing is not quite popular these days (in my school), there's no problem about it...

I don't get pressure but I feel a wave of embarrassment is poured over me when I fail a trick.

  19. Kari-Chan
    Date: Thu, Apr 16 2009 05:36:39

i spin alright... but i usually hate it when i notice that someone noticed me spinning... it makes me feel nervous and i do a last trick and stop =P

  20. Icepray
    Date: Thu, Apr 16 2009 07:15:13

    doesn't matter ^^ unless it's like 50 people

I can't do a trick when i know someone is watching me.

  22. GSkyrunner
    Date: Thu, Apr 16 2009 14:04:17

I don't really care those people, I just focus on my spinning and ignore them like I'm spinning alone at home or something

  23. Simplex【ヾ(^へ^)】
    Date: Thu, Apr 16 2009 16:52:36

Spinning alone is fine but spinning in front of most people is intimidating. Unless it's someone i know can also spin then im fine. For example Junn always watches me spin and it doesn't affect my spinning in the least bit.

  24. G.lanz
    Date: Thu, Apr 16 2009 22:30:34

I almost never notice if someone is watching me spin. Usually, I just subconsciously do TAs and sonics in class without noticing.

  25. jiyo95

if i know that people are watching me, i get kinda nervous then my tricks become all sloppy and sometimes the pen gets stuck in the slots.
my hands/fingers also become cold.. or maybe it's just the air tongue.gif

  26. Lanaro
    Date: Wed, May 13 2009 05:23:51

If there's someone important watching, I may falter a little. I personally don't care though, spinning is spinning, and I usually have, generally, the same combo.

  27. BenToh

for me i cant do it in front of ppl...

  28. illogitech

I've grown accustom to spinning in front of people because of school

  29. Jtrophy
    Date: Wed, May 13 2009 22:39:59

for me, spinning in front of 2-3 people is okay. but if its an entire class of people, then i tend to get nervous and start messing up...

  30. Eugene
    Date: Wed, May 13 2009 22:46:54

if only a few(2-4) people,i can still continue and even do some harder tricks such as fl ia x6 lol
but if they are girls,i might do x8 or more tongue.gif
if the whole class or some how,i will start getting nervous and my hands will be sweaty lol
actually you can amaze them just doing double charge or bakfall tongue.gif

the more people the worse i spin. the more hate i have for those people, the worse i spin. But if its in front of friends im pretty comfertable.

  35. Randy_Chuggs
    Date: Sat, May 16 2009 13:56:29

I stop and then stare down randoms until they stop looking at me. If it's a friend I don't mind.

  36. defect
    Date: Sun, May 17 2009 14:11:25

I think you can compare those situations with spinning in front of a camera. If there is many people watching me i get nervous and tend to drop more. Easy and simple tricks spins still work in front of some people.

My spining quality drops when there are people watching. I ge nervous and my hand can't act properly. Although lately I've been having less dificulties w\ spinning when there are people whatching. It's problably just a matter of habit.

  41. cecil
    Date: Fri, Jun 5 2009 20:41:28

lately ive changed what happens. im someone starts watching, if its not a friend, ill just put away my pen and stare at my pants.

  42. lookieitsgrass

I fail when I know someone is watching. If I don't know, then I spin like I normally do.

According to my teacher, the #1 fear of people is speaking in front of people (#2 is heights, #3 is death). This is pretty much the same idea of being in front of a big group of people, just smaller scale.

Well i dont care if people are watching but is it as in "people are watching you in class" or "am i preforming" either way i dont care

for me its always who it is, but i hate it when people make such a big deal of it they're just look "WHOA! thats insane" or something like that
