    Hi everybody

I proposed a pen modding world tournament to Tek, he found the idea interesting ( he had to do the topic, but i think he has lot of work currently =/ )

we wonder about the parameters of this tournament right now, it will happend maybe in May.

There will obviously modders representative of each board.

for the organization, we talk about it with Tek actually, you can also give ideas.

so here is the new information : several teams for each boards ( but these teams are not definitives ) :

Beginning of the PMWT : september 2009

    Participants :

    - ThaiSpinner : Aunz, Longhorn
    - BPSC : Katix, Feuille, Kr4zy
    - UPSB : Kam, iMatt, ?
    - GPC : Zw332en, F1r3Fly, densen77
    - FPSB : Mapic+, Near, NEPTUNE
    - PPP : ...
    - JEB : Sid, Hell-eXam, 329
    - BRPSB : BiNoO, Mirektusheaux, Guiigo

for the rounds, there will normally be one theme for each one ( clear mod, retract mod, famous mod, etc ).

for all the rest, i must talk with Tek but we are not often on msn at the same time =/

very little detail yet, I inform you when I have something new.

    1. Is this the right forum?
    2. I think you're talking more about World Cup format.

but I'm excited on what it will produce... smile.gif

Sounds quite interesting.. Who would be the main coordinators?
I was thinking of doing something similar for UPSB, but it was pushed back due to my school schedule.
May would be a fantastic thing.
If you need any help at all, i would be willing to help organize/ information on UPSB.
Either way, you can contact me via PM/MSN (on my profile).
    GoodLuck.

sounds cool! Will the moders mail their modified pen to the judges after each round?

How many rounds will there be? It would be good to know before hand so we can stock up on parts

is it just limited to UPSBBPC GPC FPSB? not much of a world tournament if that is the case..

I think there should be some rules or limitations to this

-if making a new mod, the modder(s) should release a tutorial for it. imo it is annoying when you see a 1337 pen but the person wont say how to make it.

-going with this, the pens should be relatively easy to obtain.

    -there should be a budget

team of ThaiSpinner added : Aunz and Longhorn

another new : the tournament will begin on september 2009

    @WhiteFang : of course not ^^

I must have confirmation of K4S and Kam for their participation in this tournament

sure...I will participate if nobody has any objections.

I got plenty of modding ideas stored...could use a reason to work on them ^^

Is this an individual effort or a team mod? I'm pretty busy with school right now to the point where i'm finding it hard to make mods for trades let alone finish some new stuff :\

No offense, but modding tournaments are really quite difficult.

How can one judge a mod without actually making it themselves.

If only one can get access to parts what good is it to others?

Unless the judges can make each and every submission you can't judge one better than another other than aesthetics.

I think, if participants take photos of each step, can help to see how the mod is hard to make, after the render is important but sure, we have the time to think about that ^^

Mats => Near, just give some importants board where he go ^^ (or know good modders) so he will open the submission soon with the website etc...

i think its more about the concepts and the ideas put into the pen, maybe a interesting way to use a part, or a useful feature (depending on the theme). look at FPSB's modding competition for example

Ok, I talked to a few people and discussed about the possibility of having a preliminary UPSB drawing to pick the people to represent UPSB instead of just have our names dictated xD

I know it's stupid on my part, but it seems fair to give everyone who's passionate about modding have a shot at it. I'm sure if we really are the best choice to represent UPSB, we'll have no problem passing the preliminaries.

So, TEK, Stevieboy and I discussed about the format of a preliminary and we think we came up with a good format to give everyone a fair chance to enter this, while allowing us to save our best mods for the tournament itself (unless we feel the need to use them in the prelims)

Anyways, we'll probably have a new topic created later today or tomorrow.

Im in charge of the upsb contestant prelims.
So far we have Kam and iMatt in the tournament forsure.

The third participant, TEK, has dropped out, so im still in the process of choosing another competitor.
For now, just take the those as being in there.
