Hello. I was wondering if there is an accepted ratio with hand to pen size or if there was an accepted limit to the length of pen to hand size

my hand (from tip of middle finger to bottom of hand) is 20 cms
    I spin
Dr. R.S.V.P (clear body kt) which is 25 cms
Custom BICtory which is 27 cms

this gives me an average of a 1.3 hand ratio

What is acceptable? Spinning something shorter, longer, or the same length as my hand. Or is it just what feels right to me? At what length does a pen become a "Stick". My BICtory a quite long to others although it still writes, is it a stick or a pen?

Thanks, and any thoughts are welcomed. happy.gif

    I'd just use whatever's comfortable.

I use pens that are pretty much the same size as my hand.

Generally, people prefer pens to be the same size as their hand. If it's too long, you'll be hated on for using it.

I would say the ratios should be 1, the pen ideally should bee the same length as your hand, although I go over by a bit at times.

But if you spin longer pens well thats no problem, ratios like this are only general guidelines. As Charlie said though, people generally hate on long pens, as it takes away from the aesthetic appeal.

yeah, tip of middle finger to wrist is good. A method I found myself is to see if you can hold the pen between your thumb and pinky. I myself use a bllsign, lol, light and short

Hey, there are other Theard that talk about it... but anyway... i agree with Pandubear, you just need to be comfortable!

my hands are tiny as fuck

spin whatever you want, look at your clips, if it looks funny (pen too big/small) adjust accordingly

pen spinning is not school, there are not really any set rules to what size you can use. however, the general consensus, as the above had said, should be identical (not for me, my hands are too small)

    yeah whatever's comfortable.

i spin a ZT in short form or 1 side extended form
i dont like the long form cuz its waaaay too long for my type.

personally, i like pens that r equally sized or a bit longer.
i look at the weight more though...

I spin pens that are about the same size as my hand, maybe a little longer.

I would say the max length recommended for a mod is 1 or 2 fingers below the wrist. Otherwise, in my opinion, it becomes a stick instead.

A larger pen will always spin more slowly and have more momentum and always be an advantage. Hand size doesn't matter. There is no relationship.

Not true: You could make a really light long pen and a really heavy short pen.

Also, it's hard for a beginner to learn the Sonic with the pressure method with a really long pen.

    TRUE.

Even how large your hands are , the pen still has the same mass and momentum

Example : Eriror spins a ComPirat

If the pen is about 20 cm, which is about the length from your middle finger to the end of your hand. So you can use your hand to measure the best length for your hands.

my pen (an RSVP CX) is about as long as my hand, and it seems to me that it is the right size... but in the end it is just what feels comfortable smile.gif
