CHECK THE DIAGRAM!
1. Each section will have a brainstorm thread. People should input different ideas of projects and topics they could contain in there.
2. Once you have found a project of interest, the project must be started. A new thread for each project must be created, which will contains a list of topics and people involved in it, and further brainstorming on what that project could possibly contain. This should be created by the director of the department, and a researcher will be the leader of this project. You can request for a new project to be opened.
3. Once you have found a topic of interest, check if the project it may belongs to exist. If it does not exist, request that the project be created. Once the project exists, you can start a new thread about your topic. Make sure it follows the format [Topic]["TID" (*)]. You will then be considered the main contributor of this topic. It will be your responsability to research on this topic more heavily then others. This does not mean other researchers can't help you, if you wish so. It also does not mean you should not contribute in other topics.
4. If the topic already exists, check with the current researcher assigned to the topic if s/he wants to collaborate with you. If yes, then both of you become partners and equally share the responsability of the topic. Make sure the Department Director is aware of this.
5. It's possible that the topic already exists, but the topic discontinued. In which case, you revive the existing thread and volonteer to resume the project. After the Director's approval, you will be able to post your results in the thread.
6. If your interest lies in an section that is not even created yet, then talk to the Chairman of the RD (in this case, me) to open a new forum for it, if necessary.
(*) TID referes to the topic thread. It is equal to PID.#, where # is the first unused number in the list of topics for that project. If for example the PID is 5.5, and it's the first topic about it, write down 5.5.1, and the next topic afterwards would be 5.5.2 and so on... Consult the list of topics in each project thread to find out the next number to use.
